Ethics May Day, 2020: Biden, Reade, Planned Parenthood, A Renegade Times Pundit, And The Democrats Get Their Way.
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!!!!
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!!!!
Planned Parenthood says it has been “vindicated,” and that’s how the story will be told and remembered. Abortion hasn’t been vindicated, but a group of activists whose motives were admirable waded into a controversy far over their competence level. They sank, and in doing so made our society’s damning acceptance of abortion more secure than it was before.
Let’s look at the current use of cognitive dissonance in the wake of the shooting by Robert Dear.
Panda and pandering in defense of abortion…
If an advocate has persuasive, honest, strong arguments not based on fallacies and rationalizations, I assume that those would be the ones he or she would use.
The most fascinating revelation is how weak the case for abortion appears to be, once its advocates are required to stop pretending that there is only one human being—the mother—involved.
it cannot be credibly denied that there is a cultural rot at the heart of Planned Parenthood, and hence at the core of our abortion culture. That rot threatens national values and our common humanity, not to mention unborn children.
Sometimes I think the national support for abortion would collapse substantially if pro-abortion zealots like Marcotte, Dvorak and Nucatola just thought about what they were saying, because they would have to accept that the implications of their words are ethically indefensible.
And sometimes I think..something else.
Thanks, Amanda. Your Slate piece may not be “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”…but it’s a start.
The fight over the Komen Foundation’s abandonment of Planned Parenthood has no heroes and many ethics miscreants.
