Our Unaccountable, Irresponsible, Incompetent, Untrustworthy News Media, Ethan Couch Division.

December 19, 2015December 19, 2015 / Jack Marshall / 14 Comments

A news organization that allows this to happen cannot and must not be trusted.

Banning The “Gay Panic Defense”

December 29, 2014 / Jack Marshall / 29 Comments

The Constitution protects all defendants, and those accused of harming LGTB victims should be protected no less than the others.

Ethics Observations On The Latrez Cummings Sentence

July 19, 2014August 17, 2014 / Jack Marshall / 18 Comments

Cummings admitted to “stomping” and beating a helpless, overwhelmed man who nearly died a result. Whether he did this alone or with 20, it is a serious crime. Verdict: 6 months. Because, you know, we’ve all been at that “want to beat people to death” age

Now THIS Is An Unethical Sentence!

The Ethan Crouch Case’s D.A., Trying To Right An Arguable Wrong With Six More

December 18, 2013 / Jack Marshall / 19 Comments

DA Joe Shannon’s mother surely taught him that two wrongs don’t make a right. He should know, and I suspect he does, that seven wrongs won’t either.

Perspective: The Trial of Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb (1924), Clarence Darrow’s Closing Argument, And Judge Caverly’s Sentence

December 14, 2013December 14, 2013 / Jack Marshall / 7 Comments

Recalling two earlier young men, killers both, who got a much-criticized break from a judge after a controversial plea by an expensive attorney: Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb
