Whatever one thinks of Tucker Carlson, the interview is a public service and raises too many ethics questions to count.
It is nicely paired with this revelation…
Whatever one thinks of Tucker Carlson, the interview is a public service and raises too many ethics questions to count. Is the previous chief of the Capitol Police (full disclosure: the current occupant is an old friend) a completely reliable, objective and unbiased source of information regarding the January 6, 2020 riot? Of course not. Nonetheless, the lack of interest in his perspective displayed by the January 6 Star Chamber and the mainstream media is both indefensible and suspicious.
Your reactions should be both helpful and illuminating.
I’m sure the left’s response to this (and I did watch the whole thing) will be (1) pretend it doesn’t exist, because the selection of what NOT to report is a powerful form of news bias; or, failing that, (2) to dismiss it entirely because . . . “TUCKER CARLSON!” even though this is just an interview and TC himself isn’t reporting or even saying anything of substance, just asking questions of the guest.
As I said before, a nation addicted to Ad Hominem.

Re: “this revelation…” ‘…Thompson wrote, “…, the Select Committee did not archive temporary committee records that were not elevated by the Committee’s actions, … or those that did not further its investigative activities.’
Sounds an awful lot like “We ditched anything we couldn’t/didn’t want to use to go after Trump & Co.”
I didn’t realize our congresscritter (Barry Loudermilk) was running this show. He’s a pretty decent guy; I’ll have to start paying attention.
So, the “Insurrection” was a Potemkin event staged by a bunch of government employees?
Wait a minute…
2-1/2 years later, the former President is being indicted, but speaker Pelosi is “off limits?” I’m not very smart, but this smells rotten.
Conspiracy theorists are increasingly gaining credibility. More and more people no longer automatically dismiss or ridicule them because in their gut they know something isn’t right. Unfortunately the MSM controls the public narrative while academia does their part to churn out obedient zealous neo-fascist wokesters. The result being the hypnotized sheeple are slow to come around. Exactly as diagrammed…
Anyone with half a brain knows or should know that they (Dems, the federal bureaucracy, etc.) allowed J6 to happened. It’s their Reichstag fire (Reichstagsbrand). Just like COVID was the opportunity they’ve been waiting for to push their election “reforms” (which worked magnificently for them—they’re turning over, irreversibly—many states, one by one), J6 was their opportunity to unleash their takeover at the federal level. A coup did happen that day, but not the one MSM and Dems keep talking about
“Everyone, Literally Everyone, Needs To See This…”
And if that happens, what difference would it make? Will Nancy Pelosi suddenly realize that the J6 Committee missed some critical information? Will MSM suddenly realize that there is more to this story than they have been reporting for the past 2 ½ years? Will voters suddenly realize that perhaps information exists that questions the government’s conclusions about J6?
You may as well declare that everyone, literally everyone, needs to ask … “Who Shot Liberty Valance?” We already know the answer. Why even ask the question? Move on. Nothing to see here. How ‘bout that war in Ukraine?
It makes a difference for people who make their decisions and assessments based on facts and evidence and are capable of societal and democratic competence as a result. Those who see it and continue to insist that it “isn’t what it is” can be safely categorized as morons governed by bias and logical disconnects. If everybody sees this, then we can cull the fools from the honest and competent citizens.
Well said, Jack.
I must admit. It was kind of a “trolly” comment. I expected many more comments on this issue (another “trolly” comment).
I do so love this country, and all it has accomplished, albeit imperfect. The task is ongoing to help make the world a freer place.
I am truly sad for the likely future of our country. J6, and the AUC response, does not help. It should have not happened, but it did. A rigorist mob surprisingly took over the Capitol (they actually did), and what did they do after that? Like George Washington … they walked away. Because their purpose was not to control, but to emphatically petition the government over their grievances.
I cannot conceive of a world where the concepts instilled in our founding are proclaimed as abhorrent.
