Factcheck Watch: Biden’s Latest Fantasy

President Biden was speaking before Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law [ the group calls the January 6 riot a white supremacy insurrection, so you know what its biases are] as another chapter in his ongoing division and hate tour, making the case that Republicans and conservatives are racists and that systemic racism runs rampant over the land. At one point in this now familiar slander, he said, “I was able to, literally, not figuratively, talk Strom Thurmond into voting for the, the Civil Rights Act before he died. And I thought, ‘Well, maybe there’s real progress.’ But hate never dies, it just hides. It hides under the rocks.”

Fascinating. The Civil Rights Act was passed in the Senate by a 73 to 27 vote on June 19, 1964. Biden wasn’t elected to the Senate until January 3, 1973. Senator Strom Thurmond of Dixiecrat fame was one of the 27 “nay” votes on the iconic bill. Other than that, what Biden told the group was “literally” true. Well, that bit about ” before he died” is shaky: Thurmond died in 2002.

The claim, in short, is nonsense, like so much of what Biden says, but the Washington Post doesn’t maintain a database on Biden lies like they did with Donald Trump, and so far, none of the factcheckers at the Post, Politifact, Snopes or anywhere else have deemed this whopper worthy of debunking, even though a reasonably astute 6th grader could show it was baloney with little more than passing familiarity with Google.

After Republicans pounced, the poor White House minions who have to come out every time Biden does this and fill in the blanks of “When the President said A he obviously meant B, and when he said in X he really meant in year Y as anyone could tell.” This time, they claimed that Joe didn’t mean the Civil Rights Act, but the Voting Rights Act of 1980, except that definitely didn’t pass right before old Strom kicked off (which is what we assume Joe meant by “before he died,” since every Senator’s vote on anything is presumably before he or she dies). The closest would be the Civil Rights Act of 1991, but by that time, Old Strom had seen the light and was a committed civil rights supporter, so Joe wouldn’t have had to “literally” talk him into anything.

Please let me know if this wildly false statement by Biden, that would have been made the object of a fleet of MSM “factchecks” if it had been uttered by Donald Trump or any Republican Presidential contender turns up in any critical analysis by the Left’s propaganda brigade.

I’ll be amazed.

  1. How many lights are there? How many are there if the president says there are more? Don’t resist, it’s so much easier if you just give in. Now, repeat after me…

  2. Is Biden coming up with these stories spontaneously? Or does he have historically ignorant handler that write the script, and Biden is too, well, old to realize the nonsense?

  3. “But hate never dies, it just hides. It hides under the rocks.”

That must mean that the late Robert Exalted Cyclops Byrd never really evolved past his virulent RAYcism, as Lefty has unconvincingly slobbered, and the person who claimed he was her mentor (HRC) is guilty of supporting White Supremacy, right….?

  4. The totalitarian minded political left will project to the masses…

President Biden said it therefore it’s true and should be distributed as indisputable fact, so rules the Ministry of Truth.

What part of that do you not understand.

Critically thinking freedom minded people (evil people) will tell you that…

The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left and their lapdog Pravda-USA media actively push?

The patterns are clear; ror today’s political left, there are four tenants of unspoken “truth” that are widely accepted as the only truth for the 21st century political left; the left is right, the right is wrong, wrong is evil and evil should be destroyed, that’s the dead end of the 21st century political left’s critical thinking.

    Again…

    Evil must be destroyed.

  5. Regardless of whom the Republicans nominate, the anti-Biden television ads are just writing themselves. That assumes, of course, he doesn’t fall out (or get Fostered) before the primary.

  6. “…Senator’s vote on anything is presumably before he or she dies…”
Well, maybe not for dems; they have something of a history of voting from the graveyard.
