Surveying The Left’s Three Desperate Reactions To The Biden Presidency Implosion

1. President Biden? Who’s that?

In order to go on covering other issues and stories in which aspects of the Biden mess would normally require a reference, the mainstream media instead just pretends there’s nothing there. Thus it can continue to run attacks on Donald Trump for “defying democratic norms,” being a threat to “lock up” his opposition if elected, and “lying” even when the current president, their client, continues to engage in all three.

Today the New York Times sent me a lament from columnist Amanda Taub headlined, “The Litany of #MeToo News Continues. Is Anything Really Changing? It can appear as though society is no closer to a future in which women can go about their ordinary lives without being harassed, assaulted and coerced into silence.” She begins with Russell Brand, but goes on to discuss how “each time a powerful man is held accountable for sexual misconduct, it seems like progress. And yet, when the allegations reveal a similar pattern of institutional actions that allowed the abuse to go on for years, and they provoke the same reactions of denial and victim-blaming, it can appear as though society is no closer to a future in which women can go about their ordinary lives without being harassed, assaulted and coerced into silence.”

Huh! I wonder why that’s happening? Could it be that the “fish rots from the head down”? Could it be that #MeToo has beclowned itself because by making it obvious that only conservatives and Republicans were in any peril of #MeToo consequences, and that powerful male Democrats could continue their harassing ways with either impunity or minor consequences? How can a serious analysts write about patterns “of institutional actions that allowed the abuse to go on for years,” and not mention any of this…

???? The President of the United States has been a serial and unapologetic groper, sniffer and cop-a-feel specialist for decades. Leaders set the standard for their organizations; Presidents set the standards for U.S. society. Biden was also accused of sexual assault by a former Senate staffer. If you want an explanation for why #MeToo has deteriorated, look no further than this White House.

But Biden’s enablers and agents want us to look away from there.

2. “It isn’t what it is.”

“Yoo’s Rationalization,” #64 on the list, has become an art form for Axis of Unethical Conduct gaslighters, but now it is reaching the stage of absurdity where all but the dumbest marks fall for it. James Clyburn, the race-baiting black Representative from South Carolina who qualifies as a national ethics villain was a natural candidate to go for the gold in this category, and he didn’t disappoint. Here’s an exchange from yesterday’s “Meet the Press:”

KRISTEN WALKER (HOST): “Let me ask you about the impeachment inquiry that is going to unfold this week on Capitol Hill. I know you and your Democrats have called this pure politics. But big picture, they’re trying to see if there’s any link between Hunter Biden and the president and his business dealings. Are you comfortable with a family member profiting off their last name in this town?”

CLYBURN: “You know, we all, to some extent, live so that our children can be proud of the name that we’ve given them. I have three daughters, and I want them to feel very comfortable being a Clyburn.I do know that that is very, very important for going forward, but that doesn’t mean they want them to do things that are unseemly to the name. I do want them to use the name to their benefit.”

WALKER: “Yet, President Biden, according to one witness testimony, was on the phone 20 times with Hunter Biden’s business associates and described as pleasantries, but is that appropriate?”

CLIBURN: “I think it’s appropriate to be a father to your son, and if your son is having a problem, and we all know the history of the problem that Hunter has with addiction, and he is being a father to his son. You don’t impeach a man for being a father to his children.”

If I have to explain to you what’s wrong with that answer, I think you’d be happier at the Nickelodeon website. Of course, Walker had neither the wit nor integrity to call Cliburn on his outrageous dishonesty. After all, she’s playing for his team.

3. “How DARE You?”

The Washington Post/ABC News poll (discussed here) unsettled the Woke and faithful by suggesting that if the election were held today, Trump would beat Biden in a landslide. This varies from the recent polls elsewhere which show a close race, presumably because Trump is so hated and also genuinely disgusting in so many ways. Still, one would think (in fact I am “one” who so thinks) that Biden has been such a disaster that even Trump-haters with a sense of self preservation would conclude, “As bad as Trump is, at least when he was in charge looters weren’t cleaning out retail stores, illegals weren’t clogging the shelters in New York, teachers weren’t encouraging kids to switch sexes, we didn’t have to see a loan shark to but groceries and he didn’t act like an escaped Alzheimer patient. But never mind all that. Larry Sabato, a professor of politics at the University of Virginia who has been the go-to political race predictor for more than a decade now, attacked the Washington Post for publishing its own poll because, in his view, the results are “laughable.” He tweeted:

Or the poll happened to catch the moment when the tipping point occurred. We shall see. But of course Sabato’s solution is to hide the poll from the public. Some people might get ideas.

***

As I hope I made clear, I am not happy at all about the prospect of another Trump term. But as long as Democrats and their ilk keep lying, spinning, censoring and rationalizing to protect Biden from the just consequences of his own incompetence, Ethics Alarms is going to call them on it.

  1. 2. The “we all have drug addicted children who hire hookers and get millions of dollars as board members of foreign companies whose business our children know absolutely nothing about Joe loves his son he’s a wonderful father” talking point is perhaps the foundational talking point in the ridiculous talking point hall of fame. How can anyone spout that with a straight face.

    • “Could it be that #MeToo has beclowned itself because by making it obvious that only conservatives and Republicans were in any peril of #MeToo consequences, and that powerful male Democrats could continue their harassing ways with either impunity or minor consequences?”

Where does Al Franken fit in here?

Was he just stupid enough to think they were sincere?

Useful idiot to be sacrificed for the greater good?

      Exception that proves the rule?

      • Al was too early in the cycle for the trend to have emerged: early on, everyone was at risk. Plus he had a female Senator who was a #MeToo fanatic—Gillibrand—wanting to get a prominent scalp on her belt as she had Presidential aspirations then. And Al was a weenie who didn’t have the poise to defend himself as aggressively as he could have.

        • I think he was basically sacrificed so that they could use the movement to go after Donald Trump and not be accused of hypocrisy. I don’t know if I would describe Al as a weenie, after all he wrote plenty of nasty books and articles poking fun at everyone who didn’t agree with him. Personally, I think he was someone looking to get revenge on the world for probably being bullied. The man is only 5 ft 6 in tall and was probably always a target for bullying. However, he’s always had a big mouth also, which leads me to believe that he was probably either too well-known of a tattletale or a little too fast for his classmates and antagonized to catch up to him, and either tie him up and leave him hanging from a tree or beat him bloody and leave him lying in a ditch to think that maybe he should stop acting like a horse’s ass. He didn’t know what to do when his own tribe turned on him. I’m not sorry to see him go. I always thought of him as a jerk with a big mouth who needed to have his big head punctured. Well, it’s looking pretty punctured now. Screw you and your family, Al.

Another test. I am having my comment disappear after being required to log in to WordPress after clicking on Reply.
This time, my Reply is being submitted after – not concomitant – logging in to WordPress. Previously, I could click on Reply, then WordPress log in, and my Comment would probably appear.

            • Here’s what Josh, my Happiness Engineer, just said: “The comment system seems to work on my end as intended, and I can not to replicate any issue with my comment going missing. I think it may be that WordPress will recognize if the user has been logged in or not, and if they are still logged in it will just leave the comment instead of prompting them to login again. For example if they comment from a new browser or a new device they may need to login, but if they go back to the site again they may already be logged in….Of course! I certainly can understand how frustrating it would be to all of the sudden have your audience not be able to engage with your content! I would ask the user who made the report if they are able to login properly, and leave a comment on their end as intended as it may have been a one off thing.

As for the other reports, I do know that Gutenberg was recently updated though I personally am not exactly aware of if that update affected the login/commenting system at all – If your viewers are still having issues I can check in with that and contact you via email as soon as I know more?”

  2. Jack, I wonder why it is that you’d be not happy with another Trump term? You preface a list of his signification accomplishments with “as bad as he is”. You also didn’t mention other significant accomplishments such as energy independence which led directly to economic stability, full employment and low inflation. Plus, we had a stable and mostly peaceful world, remember the Abraham accords? Trump accomplished all this despite leftists/democrats fighting his every move and working to undermine him at every opportunity. I believe the corrupt media’s incessant years long attacks on Trump attempting to toxify him have had an effect on you as well.
Yes, Trump’s not a practiced DC politician and his comments many times are unfiltered, but that may be one of his more endearing qualities. At this time, I cannot see anyone who I would prefer to be president instead of Trump. Where am I going wrong?

    • I don’t think you are going wrong at all, Ed. I’m waiting for Jack’s response.
I think Trump haters on the right think that Trump made Hilary call them deplorable and that he made Pelosi alligator-clap and tear up his speech at the state of the union, as if Trump invented crass rude behavior in politics. The dignity of the office of the president is out the window with Biden at least as much as it was with Trump. Trump is the only person who could have survived the left’s onslaught over the last six years, and it sure appears that he is the only one who could oppose them effectively going forward.
Swallow hard, then bite the bullet. It’s either Trump or Biden (or the designated sock puppet).
