Incompetent Tweet Of The Month

“Penny” is an LGBTQ activist who didn’t think this tweet through before posting. (This is why Twitter is dangerous to the impulsive, emotional and none-too-bright.) After someone pointed out what the tweet seemed to be saying, it was taken down.

Too late.

  1. What’s worse is the number of people that just don’t know what they’re talking about chiming in.

The responses to that from progressives was an almost uniform: “Florida is expanding what “sexual crimes” means to the point where existing while trans and being near a kid is a crime.”

I would normally write something that stupid using lIkE tHiS, but it was too long and life is too short.

It’s stupid because first off: It isn’t true. Florida has not expanded what “sexual crimes” means, period, never mind to the point that walking while gay is a crime.

Second: The law, HB 1297, doesn’t mention “sexual crimes” at all. It expands the punishment for “sexual battery” of a “person under twelve years of age” to include the death penalty.

Third: The punishment for the rape of a child in Florida already had a punishment of decades of imprisonment. This law does not make a single new thing illegal. So if this was going to effect trans people who were being unjustly prosecuted under some flimsy premise, you should be able to point to me the trans people who are serving decade long sentences for walking in an unfortunate place at an unfortunate time.

They can’t, because it doesn’t happen.

And I’m sorry, but people don’t just slip on a banana peel and land naked with their dick in a preteen.

Which is why this bill passed with bipartisan support: 95-14. Democrats hold 35 seats in the Florida House. More Democrats voted for this than voted against this.

    So what happened?

-The Leading Report (which is a hell of a name) deliberately mislead their readers: This wasn’t a crime that made “sexual crimes” against “children” capital offenses. It made the “rape” of “children under 12” capital offenses. They knew what they were doing.

-The public is purposefully ignorant, and don’t want to be confused by facts. They are far too willing to believe unbelievable but convenient facts with which to stoke the victim complexes that they are so addicted to.

Ethics Quote of the Year, HY.

  2. I think you are being way to generous to Penny. I think it is just as likely that she meant exactly what she said. I think it is very possible that Penny lives in a leftist bubble where trans and queer people molesting children is considered OK and only after it was explained to her that mainstream society wasn’t ready to accept that yet, she deleted it. Pedophiles (or MAPS, now) have been growing in acceptance in leftist circles for decades, with numerous articles on ‘righteous pedophiles’ and the concept that pedophilia as just another sexual orientation that needs to be respected gaining traction.

  3. I remember way back decades ago when I was in school and we really received an education, the teachers taught us logic. Too bad schools no longer actually teach their students. Penny could have used an education in logic and grammar.
