Item: Mid Vermont Christian School is suing after it was barred from all athletic competitions when the team refused to play against a Long Trail girls high school basketball team that had a (big and strong) biological male on their team earlier this year. The Christian school’s complaint alleges that it was “irreparably harmed by being denied participation” and “losing out on playing competitive sports as well as academic competitions.” Ethics Alarms designated the team an Ethics Hero here.
Item: In England, teams and players in an amateur female soccer league have begun to refuse to take the field against bruising trans-soccer player Francesca Needham after she broke an opponent’s knee-cap with a kick. Needham has now quit her team, but is threatening to sue, saying she is being illegally discriminated against. “I believe it represents a breach of a code of conduct regarding diversity and inclusion,” she told the media. proving that she knows how to read the metaphorical room. Great Britain is nuts and in the maw of the Great Stupid, so a lawsuit will give us useful information about just how nuts. You see, it isn’t illegal discrimination when there is a valid justifiable reason to discriminate.

Former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines, the voice of the anti-trans cheating movement, went on Fox News to condemn “the injustice of allowing mediocre male athletes to become record-breaking female athletes.”

This absurd fad will end as soon as women, girls, schools, coaches and parents unite and boycott games, meets and tournaments without waiting for someone to get hurt. It looks as if, thanks to leaders like Gaines, this is beginning to happen. The transmania is yet another example of Facts Don’t Matter in Woke World, but one of the easier ones to defeat.
In related news, Dr. Michael Joyner filed a lawsuit against the Mayo Clinic and two of its executives this month for threatening to fire him after he gave an interview to the New York Times about the dangers of transgender sports, pointing out that once puberty hits, boys swim faster than girls. he said in part,
“You see the divergence immediately as the testosterone surges into the boys. There are dramatic differences in performances…Testosterone is the 800-pound gorilla.”
Those comments, Mayo later wrote in a March 2023 “Final Warning” letter published and criticized by FIRE, were “problematic” for the LGBTQI+ community at the clinic. That’s right: truth is “problematic” at one of the most prestigious medical institutions in the nation.
It looks like progressives and Democrats have picked yet another loser, and it is important to pay attention and take down names. For example, after the GOP majority Wisconsin assembly passed a measure banning transgendering males from playing on women’s sports teams (the state’s woke Democratic Governor Evers almost certainly won’t sign it), Democratic Assemblyman Dave Considine issued this analysis:
“The best we got was, well, some parents are concerned that their daughter might miss out on a scholarship; they might miss out on playing for this team or that team. Boy, that doesn’t sound like immunity, that sounds like selfishness. I’m sorry to label it that way, but that sounds like what it is to me.”
Yes, it’s selfish for parents not to support biological males taking away opportunities from their daughters. Wow. Keep riding this bomb all the way down, progressives. See what happens…

The left likes semantics games so when you call it female sports and not women’s sports they cannot say the that biological sex is on a continuum.
Now you can argue that female teams should only play against all female teams. It will not matter what gender some guy wants call himself.
It used to be three genders in language: masculine, feminine and neuter. The concept of gender should simply mean that someone displays one of those descriptors. You want to dress like a woman and act in a manner we consider feminine? Fine with me but you cannot claim to be female no matter what surgical alteration you undertake. The same is true for females who want to act like masculine males.
Here is a simple question if a female transitions to a man are they now part of the terrible patriarchy women complain of and is it mansplaining if that person argues about gender with a born male?
