Honestly, how do these people look at themselves in the mirror without retching? Isn’t there some level of toxic hypocrisy that is physically disabling, or does one build up resistance over time?
An aide to Boston’s Asian-American mayor Michelle Wu was supposed to send that invitation for the Mayor’s “Electeds of Color Holiday Party” (Catchy name!) to, you know, only elected officials who aren’t white because, after all, who wants them at a party? Oopsie! Poor Denise DosSantos, soon to be ringing a bell by a red pot on a corner, accidentally sent the invitations for the secret racist and exclusive event to everyone. This prompted criticism, and this resulting “apology” from the aide: “I wanted to apologize for my previous email regarding a Holiday Party for tomorrow. I did send that to everyone by accident, and I apologize if my email may have offended or came across as so. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.”
Note that it’s not an apology for holding a racist party; it’s an apology for letting everyone know about the racist party. Note also that the wording once would have resulted in any Boston 6th grader getting an F in English construction and grammar.
Outgoing City Councilor Frank Baker told the Boston Herald that the episode was “unfortunate and divisive.” Don’t go out on a limb there, Frank. You really think a mayor holding a “No Whites Allowed” event is divisive? Baker emphasized that the mayor of his city excluding guests to an event based on their race is not a big deal for him. “I find it unfortunate that with the temperature the way it is, that we would further that division,” he said, but “I don’t really get offended too easily. To offend me, you’re going to have to do much more than not invite me to a party.”
Can I offend you by writing that you’re a craven, bigotry-enabling hack, Frank?
In fact, Baker was one of the few Boston pols who even scratched the surface of what was sinister about the gaffe. The mayor’s office and her allies didn’t even try to deny the intention. They apparently are all agreed that discrimination of the right kind is a wonderful thing. Black city council member Brian Worrell argued that segregated parties are swell. “We make space and spaces for all kinds of specific groups in the city and city government,” Worrell told the Boston Herald. “This is no different, and the Elected Officials of Color has been around for more than a decade.”
Well heck, the Ku Klux Klan has been around for a lot longer than that! Does this make the Klan okay? Wait, I forgot, that represented bad discrimination…
Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson, one of the “Electeds of Color,” reassured the mayor and her staff that the color-restricted invitation “should not offend anyone and there is absolutely no confusion.” After all, she wrote,
“Just like there are groups that meet based on shared interests or cultural backgrounds, it’s completely natural for elected officials of color to gather for a holiday celebration. Many groups celebrate and come together in various ways, and it’s not about excluding anyone. Instead, it’s about creating spaces for like-minded individuals to connect and support each other.”
And as we all know, all whites are like-minded and don’t share interests or opinions with those who are non-white. Really now, who wants to celebrate with someone who’s not like you? It’s not about excluding anyone; it’s just about making certain those individuals of the wrong skin shade don’t spoil things.
This would be a career ending event for an Irish politician who planned a “White Electeds” party, but in the peculiar world of self-righteous progressives, Mayor Wu apparently will get away with a simple “We’re sorry you found out about it” explanation.

As our majority dwindles, I hate that white people are not going to be afforded the same equality we shared with every other race that ever knocked on this county’s door. Though in most cases it took a little time and by no means were we perfect, white people have been pretty good about sharing in the bounty that our system provides as far as equality is concerned. This kind of nonsense is how we are to be repaid. I would have been happy with just a simple “thank you.”
The saying is “When we are a minority, we will demand recognition and equal rights, because that is YOUR culture and values. When we are a majority, you will ask for recognition and equal rights and receive neither because it is not OUR culture and values.” We have allowed the existence of other cultures into our country, allowed them to be treated as equals to Western Civilization, and it has resulted in disaster. Look at all of our major cities. None are being run according to the spirit of the American experiment, equality, and noncorruption, with respect to property rights, individual rights, and meritocracy.
The multiculturalism lie that all cultures are equal has blinded people to the truth.
Western Civilization is more equal, more free, more innovative, and less corrupt than any other culture I am aware of. If you are aware of one that is moreso (and involves more than a tiny population), please let me know, I really would like to learn about it. It is easy to be equal and free, without much corruption in a farming community of 500, but it is very difficulty in a large country with both vast urban centers and huge rural farming areas.
The breathtakingly flippant no big deal approach is off the charts!
Wait a minute.
I pounced…never mind.

As an employee, my email to DosSantos (and everyone else) would be a simple query:
Can I attend if I identify as colored? I hear the food is high quality and the drinks are free.
I am omnivorous btw and very well behaved. Happy Holidays Denise!
Can anyone say hostile work environment? Seems like prima facie evidence.
Someone in Boston’s city government should announce an elegant “Christmas party” to be held at some upscale establishment, but only open to White people. Then we can all sit back and see what happens. Any guesses?
I would ask what holiday are they celebrating. It certainly is not the birth of Christ, nor is the celebration of freedom from oppressors as Hanukah does. It must be Kwanza, the imagined event devised to further divide us.
Maybe it is Saturnalia. You can’t kill Saturnalia. The Romans tried, the Christians tried. Both gave up and accepted it. The current leftist Communists are trying, and may only be successful because they have a much lower standard of morality than your average Roman.
At the end, you badly misspelled “rat” as “Roman”.
Since the invitation provides for the invited party to bring a guest, how would it work if the guest was white? How about people appointed or employed, not elected?
Didn’t you get the memo? Interracial dating by white people is ‘problematic’. It is a ‘fetish’, if the other person is Asian, and a symptom of ‘white guilt’ or ‘internalized racism’ for other races. Interracial dating by whites is now considered racist.
Actually, the invite doesn’t specify that only “persons of color” are welcome, though that is the obvious implication. So I’m hoping that many, many persons – with genetics that involuntarily gave them lighter-colored skin – descended on Beacon Street last evening (maybe even with a similarly-melanin’ed guest) and joined the fun.
Right Joel, a distinction without a difference. The woke biatch DosSantos has now essentially ruined the party because of the negative publicity. I would be embarrassed to attend at this point.
“Honestly, how do these people look at themselves in the mirror without retching? Isn’t there some level of toxic hypocrisy that is physically disabling, or does one build up resistance over time?”
Skewering the cult-of-woke is always ethical.
Way back when I was in K12, there was this Special Ed track of education.
Seems like these people went through some sort of Color Ed system brainwashing them into having pride in epidermal eumelanin rather than competence thinking that achieving a place was the goal rather than delivering a service or product.
Given that eumelanin in large quantities “colors” one’s skin darkly, does high concentrations of pheomelanin (a.k.a. Gingers, a minority) count as being colored given bright red hair?
When she speaks of “ Electeds of color” how many people are we talking about here? How many “electeds” are there all together? What is the purpose of this segregated party that is purported to have been in existence in the past?
Never mind “toxic workplace”, She used a government employee, presumably using government equipment, to arrange this function. Shouldn’t that be enough to make her actions illegal? If no government funds were used to pay for any of the party (who wants to guess?), and she had sent the email from home, she might only be guilty of exposing herself as a racially-motivated bigot, and she’s apparently fine with that.
The Biden “Justice” Department will be looking into this, as a possible civil rights violation, right?
