The President’s Deceitful Executive Order

If I were maintaining a “lie database” on Joe Biden (like the Washington Post does, among others, on Donald Trump) this would go right on it. And yes, I have not read a single analysis on any source that explains the deceitful quality of the President’s latest executive order. Unlike several of the others, this one is constitutional. It is just completely misleading, and deliberately so.

Yesterday, Biden ordered financial and travel sanctions on Israeli settlers accused of violent attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. That explanation at the top of the New York Times story cleared up initial confusion on my part. “Biden issues executive order targeting Israeli settlers who attack Palestinians” was the headline at Axios, and similar headlines abound. Huh? Does Biden think that he, like Leonardo DiCaprio, is King of the World? What power does the President of the United States have over citizens of foreign nations who aren’t in the United States? The answer, for those of you praying that J Biden and the Democrats can save democracy from the previous President who abuses presidential power, is none. None. The executive order is grandstanding of the most cynical sort. Biden literally could issue similar fanciful orders “sanctioning” Parisians who annoy visiting Americans by being rude to them with as much effect.

The phantom order imposes sanctions on four Israelis in the West Bank. The Times says they “will be cut off from the U.S. financial system and from accessing any American assets or property. They also will be prevented from traveling to the United States or engaging in any commerce with people in the United States.” Is there any indication at all that any of these sanctioned international villains have or intend to have any assets or property in the U.S., or are planning to come here, or now engage or want to engage in commerce on these shores, where the President of the United States’ power ends? No!

NPR, in a rare example of the state-supported Democratic Party propaganda tool actually undermining the Left’s narrative, interviewed one of the “targeted” settlers who said he has no dealings with the U.S., owns no property here, and denied that he has committed any violence against Palestinians. One of the men told NPR’s Daniel Estrin that he owns a farm and has a good relationship with the 15 Palestinians he employs.

That points us to another unethical aspect of Biden’s fake order: the four Israelis have only been “accused of violent attacks.” You know, like Israel was accused of bombing a civilian hospital that turned out to have been hit by a stray Hamas rocket.

Isn’t the United States supposed to model democratic principles of a free society? Aren’t our citizens considered innocent until proven guilty after a fair trial before a jury? This is one hell of a way to demonstrate it: our President is punishing foreign citizens almost half-way around the globe based on someone’s accusation only. Those West Bank settlers have not been afforded any opportunity to defend themselves. Biden just signaled absolute hypocrisy to the world. His act is also a classic Kantian ethics breach. He is using human beings as a means to an end.

But the mainstream media’s reports don’t explain any of this to readers and viewers. The Times actually calls this sham “a forceful gesture aimed in part at Arab American voters in the United States who have expressed fury about the president’s backing of Israel’s war in Gaza.” How is an executive order that does nothing constitute a “forceful gesture”?

If I were an Arab-American voter who wants the U.S. to support terrorism against Jews, I’d resent that order for presuming that I’m gullible and stupid. Other than the occasional silly stuff like officially pardoning turkeys, Presidents abuse their position when they issue orders that assert power over people they have no power over. They abuse their position with fake gestures designed to deceive. Deceit is when a statement is literally accurate but missing key information that is necessary for the truth to be understood. Biden’s order is pure deceit, and the public should know that this President lies to them.

They should know it already, and have known it for a long time. Come to think of it, Biden’s grandstanding, toothless EO may be effective after all, for there are millions of voters who apparently are exactly as gullible as this stunt assumes they are.

  1. Wouldn’t an Arab-American who wanted the US to cease supporting Israel instead be delighted that apparently our president can be gulled into making such a senseless, undemocratic order based solely on an unsubstantiated accusation? The Hamas tactics seem to rely heavily on a PR campaign to malign Israel at every turn, any they have no more compunction at using blatant lies than they do hiding militants and munitions in schools and hospitals. They have to now be salivating at the prospect of what else they might goad Biden into doing.

  2. The Democrats are freaking out after some of their own polls show that younger voters are supporting Trump more than Biden. The youth vote has been indoctrinated into taking the side of the Palestinians and even American Jews have been conditioned to hate ‘Jewish settlers’. This is probably a calculated move to improve his polling with the younger voters without alienating people who are generally supportive of Israel.

  3. So these “sanctions” are being imposed on four Israelis?!? Four…cuatro…3+1? And at least one of them has already been shown to be a case of mistaken identity?

This Administration should sue its collective brain for “failure to support”.

I wonder how many Palestinians were sanctioned for their actions back in October…

  4. Funny how he believes has power over citizens of other countries but no power to direct the border patrol to stop or minimize illegal entry.

    • No, he has directed border patrol to assist illegal entry. If you cut the barriers to entry and escort people in, you are assisting people to enter the country illegally. Now, you would think that this would be illegal, and it is if YOU do it, but the Supreme Court has ruled that the federal government can continue to do it, even though it violates the law. in addition, our tax dollars are sent to the ‘migration route’ to fund camps for people travelling to enter the country illegally. UN agencies are encouraging and supporting people to travel to the border to enter the US illegally, funded by US tax dollars.

The administration is aware that they have power over the border. Their goals just don’t align with yours.

I was sort of being sarcastic because Biden stated that if Congress would only give him control over the border patrol he would close the border.

That man is a pathological liar
