This is a pot calling the kettle black classic, and another one of those wonderful incidents that is valuable primarily to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt how partisan and biased most mainstream media reporters and pundits are. In fact, it is even better that that: it is smoking gun proof that bias not only makes you stupid, it makes you so hypocritical that you make a fool of yourself.

I could have easily called this “Stop Making Me Defend Ronna McDaniel!” The recently jettisoned Republican National Committee chair was a rank incompetent, which is why she was forced out. She speaks in nearly indecipherable Valley Girlese (or something), and I wouldn’t trust her “expert” analysis of a Road Runner cartoon. Nonetheless, NBC recently hired her as an election analyst for the same reason it has hired other incompetents with links to both parties: to give easily gulled viewers the illusion of “inside information.”

But the news of her hiring triggered one proven liar and incompetent after another on NBC and elsewhere to erupt that the hiring was a horrible breach of the journalism integrity and professionalism that none of the news divisions and networks have possessed in years, as if the hypocritical protesters were something other than what they are: biased, dishonest, untrustworthy partisan hacks (sorry, I’m trying to avoid that word, but sometimes it can’t be avoided.)

First Chuck Todd appeared on his old show “Meet the Press” (the reputation of which he managed to destroy during his tenure as host) to demand the NBC brass apologize to current host Kristen Welker for having to interview the new NBC commentator. Chuck was shocked—shocked!—that his network would hire someone who was biased and untrustworthy. Hilarious.

Look at Todd’s Ethics Alarms dossier, which represents just a sliver of his unethical journalism. “We gave her NBC News’s credibility!,” Todd ranted. NBC News has no credibility at all, exemplified by the fact that Chuck Todd was allowed to sit in the chair once occupied by Tim Russert and spin progressive false narratives week after week while his personal biases bordered on scandal. Chuck Todd and his wife hosted a dinner party in 2015 to honor Hillary Clinton campaign communications director Jen Palmieri. Mrs. Todd runs a Democrat consulting firm and made $2 million by assisting the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign, but chuck Todd gave soft-ball “Meet the Press” interviews of Sen. Sanders without mentioning the conflict.

Then one of MSNBC’s token Republicans (like Michael Steele—incompetent RNC heads are welcome at MSNBC if they trash Donald Trump sufficiently), Nicole Wallace, launched another on-air rant about McDaniel’s hiring. “NBC News is, either wittingly or unwittingly, teaching election deniers that what they can do stretches well beyond appearing on our air and interviews to peddle lies about the sanctity and integrity of our elections,” she said. “What we’ve also said to election deniers is not just that they can do that on our airwaves, but they can do that as one of us, a badge carrying employee of NBC News, as paid contributors to our sacred airwaves.”

Wow: “sacred airwaves.” MSNBC’s existance is like pouring pigs’ blood on an altar.

Of course, Wallace’s statement was screaming hypocrisy: NBC and MSNBC have both supported election deniers as long as they came from the “good” party, theirs. NBC News and MSNBC told viewers that Donald Trump cheated by “colluding” with Russia, assuring readers that the four-year-long investigation would prove that their beloved Hillary Clinton was robbed of the Presidency. The networks’ propagandists also routinely praised Democrat election deniers like Clinton and Georgia Democratic gubernatorial loser Stacey Abrams, while continuing to drop in the now established Big Lie that the Supreme Court stole the 2000 election from Al Gore.

Wallace also was lying. This post is something of a sequel to this one, from last summer, when I threw an ethics flag on CNN’s Chris Wallace for falsely saying that McDaniel had said that Joe Biden wasn’t really elected President and that the election was fraudulent, which is what Donald Trump keeps saying. What McDaniel really said was what Ethics Alarms has pointed out many times. From that post:

…what CNN watchers were shown was not the actual exchange that Wallace revealed on his show two days later. McDaniel really said this: “But I don’t think he won it fair. I don’t. I’m not going to say that. I think when you look at — let’s look at the Hunter Biden laptop. Fifty-one people in the intelligence agency signed a letter saying it was Russian disinformation. That’s what the public disseminated was being told. That’s not true. That’s a lie.”

… The Hunter Biden laptop story suppression is just one example of how false and biased media coverage aiding pro-Biden disinformation made a fair Presidential election by an informed voting public impossible. The exchange was edited … to make viewers think that the RNC chair, and, by extension, her party, backs Trump’s ridiculous claim that he actually “won” the election, which he believes was stolen by voter fraud. McDaniel was making a different argument entirely, and a completely valid one that Ethics Alarms endorses: Wallace and his co-conspirators aided and abetted false information spread by Democrats throughout Trump’s term, ensuring that the election would not be fair. Yet …CNN deliberately misrepresented her point to fit the media’s ongoing “Trump’s unsubstantiated claims” narrative, in essence doing more of what McDaniel was referring to. The 2020 election was not fair. It was demonstrably rigged through four years of partisan spin, anti-Trump propaganda and unprecedented irresponsible, dishonest and biased journalism.

For anyone who works for MSNBC to complain that that absurdly biased, hyper-partisan, perpetually spinning and lying network has any integrity or reputation to compromise would be cause for hysterical laughter if it didn’t indicate that these fake journalists are so deluded they don’t even realize how unethical they are. That’s scary.

Yesterday it was “Morning Joe’s” vehement Democratic party booster Mika Brzezinski who declared Ronna McDaniel unworthy of MSNBC. ” MIKA: “To be clear, we believe NBC News should seek out conservative Republican voices to provide balance in their election coverage. But it should be conservative Republicans, not a person who used her position of power to be an anti-democracy election denier. And we hope NBC will reconsider its decision. It goes without saying that she will not be a guest on Morning Joe in her capacity as a paid contributor.”

It also goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway, that they lie on “Morning Joe” frequently, as, for example, Joe and Mika dutifully joined the mass “Get Trump!” media lie that Donald Trump was threatening violence when he said that the auto industry was facing a “bloodbath” if he loses the 2024 election. But Mika and Joe are proverbial “small potatoes” in the roster of MSNBC liars past and present. The network employed disgraced BBC journalist Martin Bashir, who infamously tricked Princess Diana into a ruinous interview. It gave a show—still running—to Al Sharpton, whose public prominence was the result of disgusting and destructive lie that he has never admitted or apologized for, that Tawana Brawley was raped and smeared with excrement by police. Rachel Maddow lied for four years about the Russian Collusion hoax; Joy Reid’s EA dossier is full of deliberate deception like this; Chris Hayes, in addition to his required MSNBC habits of dishonesty and bias, has said astoundingly dumb things like this: “The weirdest thing about the Electoral College is the fact that if it weren’t specifically in the Constitution for the presidency, it would be unconstitutional.” Jen Pasaki was Joe Biden’s paid liar, and she sure earned her money, but even she had the gall to complain about NBC hiring the former RNC chair. Shameless.

The whole network is a clown show—a dishonest clown show. Yet Ronna McDaniel isn’t trustworthy enough to appear on it, because of something she never said but that various NBC and MSNBC liars claim she did.
