The New York Post has released a scoop: White House insiders attempted to persuade President Biden’s incompetent paid liar, Karine Jean-Pierre, to leave her post, thus sparing the administration, Democrats and any American who thinks his or her government should be run by people at least minimally qualified for their jobs of ongoing embarrassment.

Whew! That’s a relief. At least a few in the executive branch recognize an unqualified, inept high-profile job occupant when they see one and have the integrity and sense of responsibility to try to rectify the problem. The reason this secret effort to dump Karine was apparently attempted is what anyone watching her painful press briefings already knows: She terrible at her job. She doesn’t understand the issues and isn’t quick enough or smart enough to parry reporters’ questions effectively. Unfortunately, Karine is also a Dunning-Kruger sufferer. “She thinks she’s doing an amazing job,” one of the Post’s sources says.

Heh. “Amazing job” is one of the famous lines friends of actors use to avoid telling a freind that they just stunk up the stage in a play. Another is “You’ve never been better!”

A predictable problem acknowledged by the White House insiders is that “There’s a huge diversity issue and they’re afraid of what folks are going to say” if Jean-Pierre were to be forced out against her will. This is the DEI trap: when you hire someone for reasons other than skill, experience and ability, it’s difficult to fire them. They weren’t hired to do a good job, they were hired to check boxes. Those boxes remain checked even if a diversity hire is as comically wretched as Karine.

So the good news is that, contrary to what one might think seeing the parade of flops and phonies causing one policy disaster after another without facing any negative consequences, their incompetence is being noticed. The bad news is that, we are told, the President “trusts his senior advisors” to decide who stays or goes, and isn’t about to, you know, be President even when the problem involves the staffer assigned the job of speaking for him.

There is a silver lining even to that. Karine Jean Pierre is a human smoking gun demonstrating to all able to think that the diversity fad simply doesn’t have the promised benefits its adherents keep claiming. That she will be on display during the 2024 campaign as vivid evidence of Biden’s failed policies is a gift to Republicans, and a paid liar can’t do nearly as much damage as other incompetents, like Biden’s Secretaries of State, Transportation and Homeland Security.
