Hello. This Is Mira! She Used To Be A Successful Hollywood Actress Until Trump Derangement Destroyed Her Brain. Won’t You Give a Tax-Deductible Donation To Defeat This Terrible Disease?

Poor Mira Sorvino. She won an Academy Award once, but her career as an ingenue stalled and she’s 56 now: she’s officially on the celebrity has-been list. But that’s not what makes her epic post below on “X” memorable. It should be studied as a tragic example of what relentless Big Lie propaganda from the mainstream media and progressives, which are pretty much all Sorvino has been exposed to in Hollywood for at least three decades, can do a mind that was once capable of critical thought.

As you will quickly see, the late Paul Sorvino’s daughter is Trump-Deranged to a crippling degree. She’s not stupid, far from it; at least she didn’t used to be. She graduated from Harvard with honors back when Old Ivy was closer to being a respectable institution than today, and didn’t major in “Women’s Studies” or some other wokish area, but East Asian Studies after spending a year abroad learning Mandarin Chinese.

When you wonder how it can possibly be that so many people won’t abandon their determination to vote for Joe Biden even as the evidence becomes indisputable that one might as well elect a quahog as President, just reflect upon Mira’s lament below. She was willing to publish this, publicly, even though, to a functioning mind, doing so would be the equivalent of wearing a neon sign flashing, “I am a cabbage.” It’s sad. It’s tragic. But it shows what nearly eight years of being bombarded with lies and fearmongering can do.

I’ll interject periodically, as is my wont. Heeeeeere’s MIRA!

“I used to be so grateful having been born female in this country at the time I was-feeling it was the best time/place to be a woman in history, despite ongoing inequality & vulnerability. Now that advantage is eroding-seeing men discussing taking away our right to vote, & other fundamental rights.”

Wait, what? Who, male or otherwise, has discussed taking away women’s rights to vote? It is an amendment, after all: taking away that right would mean passing another amendment. Nobody has proposed one, and any member of Congress who proposed such a thing would be laughed out of D.C. Presumably the “other fundamental right” Mina is talking about is the right to kill unborn children right up to their birth. That was never a “fundamental” right; it was misconceived SCOTUS-contrived right.

“The night Trump was elected I literally cried because somehow my beloved America was choosing to put a man in power who bragged of sexually assaulting women (grabbing them by the 🐱) &was credibly accused by 20 women of assault and rape, one of whom, @ejeancarroll since won her legal battle.”

I knew some people who “literally cried” when Trump was elected, and they were—are—unstable or so weak-minded that they believed he was the boogey man. Citing that “Access Hollywood” tape where Trump was caught in alpha male locker room BS with Billy Bush is pretty desperate material so early in an anti-Trump screed. First, as I wrote at the time, any guy who hasn’t heard other guys talk like that knowing well that it was just dumb grandstanding has gotten out much. Second, Trump made it clear that he was talking about consensual “pussy-grabbing,” which isn’t sexual assault or even sexual harassment. Mira’s old enough to remember Bill Clinton, who was famously reported to have exactly these conversations with Vernon Jordan, and, presumably, not just him. As for “credibly accused,” the rule is that any accusation against Trump of another targeted Republican or conservative is credible (See: Bret Kavanaugh) Jean Carroll prevailed in one of the lawfare cases against Trump after New York Democrats repealed its statute of limitations specifically to let Carroll go after him.

I tried to sound the alarm about his younger victims which somehow are just now gaining visibility as the Epstein files are opening. How could my country choose a leader that you would not trust to babysit your daughter? How could our well-being mean so little to so many???

Here Mira endorses the completely fact-free smear by one of the Democrats’ most shameless and dishonest congressmen, Ted Lieu. There has been nothing found in the so-called Epstein Files that implicate Trump in any wrongdoing. But if a story or claim is something bad regarding Trump, it must be true. Ethics Alarms had to jettison several commenters lately whose arguments were exactly that.

The babysitting bit is mordantly amusing, as it throbs with selective ignorance and contrived blindness. Joe Biden has been filmed an photographed touching young girls inappropriately, and his daughter wrote the he showered with her. Bill Clinton, unlike Trump, was photographed with one of Epstein’s young sex slaves. In the list of risky baby-sitter Presidents, in Sorvino’s fantasy world where teenage girls need baby-sitters rather than are the baby-sitters, I’d confidently rate Trump as superior or even with Jefferson, Cleveland, Harding, FDR, JFK, LBJ, and Bill, of course. Moreover, we elect Presidents because of skills and abilities completely unrelated to sexual proclivities.

“This election is of crucial importance to our fundamental way of life & freedoms & rights we take for granted as human beings. If you think, I’m gonna vote for DT bc my taxes won’t go up & he’s funny, you are literally contributing to the end of the American Experiment as we know it.”

Literally! The Presumption of Wrongdoing and Evil Intent. This is what the Axis has been constructing to destroy Trump since 2015, and the easily spooked, uninformed, smothered in peer-groups madness are prime targets. Like poor Mira. The “Trump is going to make himself dictator” is and has always been nonsense, but it is now the Democrats most-used Big Lie. Biden repeated it last night. On CNN and MSNBC, it was referenced as fact repeatedly. And the claim dates back to before the 2016 election.

A friend of mine, a well-informed lawyer and hardly a Trump fan, asked me, “Why do people keep saying that Trump will be a dictator? He’s never done anything that suggests that, and it’s impossible anyway.” I answered that they say it because if they repeat it enough, gullible people will believe it.

For people of any faith, especially Christians who believe he’s their man, how can you elect such a hedonistic, dishonest, dangerous man, who builds a platform on whipping up hatred of the immigrant- (classic Hitler play, whom he admired) when Jesus talks of loving the foreigner? He literally betrays all tenets of major religions- he just lies about being a man of faith himself.

If Mira was at all conversant in the history of the U.S. Presidency, she would have eschewed “hedonistic.” “Dishonest” is part of the Left’s anti-Trump mantra, and “dangerous” is more Presumption of Wrongdoing and Evil Intent: today’s Times editorial parrots the same theme. The immigration comment, however, marks her as dishonest or too biased to function. Illegal immigration is illegal, you fool. Objecting to illegal immigrants is based on the illegality, not hatred of immigrants. As for the supposed Hitler admiration, its based on nasty hearsay by the proverbial “disgruntled employees.” In one acting class I ran, I pointed out that Hitler’s oratory methods were theatrically effective and justified study. Mira would say that meant that I “admire Hitler.”

“He literally betrays all tenets of major religions- he just lies about being a man of faith himself. He is not a person we can look up to, does not possess admirable character traits-he’s just good at self promotion/pretending to be rich, though he’s been bankrupt countless times.”

My research suggests that lying about being a “man of faith” is a Presidential norm, with few genuinely religious White House residents. Sorvino is Catholic, and, oddly, has no difficulty accepting a President who simultaneously says that he believes his Church that human life begins at conception and that he wants ending such human life to be legal and unencumbered. She’s also way, way out over her metaphorical skis invoking Trump’s bankruptcies against him. Several revered Presidents were poor businessmen, and we never hear that used to impugn, say, Jefferson or Grant.

I’ll concede, with reservations for its over-generality, “He is not a person we can look up to, does not possess admirable character traits.” Trump has some admirable character traits: perseverance, resilience, a sense of humor. I would worry about someone who regarded him asa role model, and that is, and has always been, my primary objection to Trump as a national leader.

“He doesn’t care about the brave military men & women who served our country sometimes losing their life or health in the process. He doesn’t care about the ordinary person in America who seems to believe he’s got their back. He cares only for himself & achieving absolute power.

I get the “he doesn’t care” mantra from my sister, to whom I’ve pointed out that she has no idea what Trump cares and doesn’t care about. The “he cares only about himself and achieving absolute power” is an exact quote from my sister. Maybe she and Mira hang out together. More likely, they listen to the same MSNBC hacks. It’s a strange hill to die on when one is supporting a President who is adamantly refusing to do what is in the best interests of his office, his party and his nation because he can’t accept his own disability and apparently feels it is too much of a personal sacrifice to step aside.

Electing him for a 2nd term will be the end of America as we know it, flawed but beautiful & worth fighting for. True patriots want to preserve the foundational ideals we’ve tried to follow/improve on for 2 1/2 centuries. Don’t let the haters co-opt the term-Let’s be patriots!!!!

Yeah, yeah, you said that already. (Wait, who’s the hater here?)

Get help.

  1. I’ll tell you what pisses me off about Mira Sorvino. How the fuck did she get into Harvard except for the admissions committee saying to themselves, “Ooh. Look at this! Paul Sorvino’s daughter has applied! She’s pretty! And her father’s a celebrity! Let’s admit her! Every time someone looks her up, we’ll show up!” Just like Jody Foster getting into Yale. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Assholes.

    • Brooke Shields at Princeton. Pretty much any child of a major celebrity, or a child celebrity, who isn’t a complete dolt can get admitted to an Ivy of their choice. The daughter of Broadway leading man John Raitt was in my class at you-know-where—she became famous in her own right (never graduated, though.) Mike Wallace’s daughter was in my residential house. Kathleen Kennedy was in my class too.

  2. “Trump” hasn’t been bankrupt countless times. This is another spurious claim given traction by the the ignorance and gullibility of Trump-haters, and sustained by the silent complicity of those (including in MSM) who know better (or should) but don’t speak up. The Trump organization is a holding company with roughly 250 companies or subsidiaries, some of which have undergone bankruptcies at times. This is a common form of organization for large enterprises, one of the benefits of which is to protect the assets of all the companies from the failure or liabilities of a single one. I haven’t seen any information indicating that the Trump organization’s history is extraordinary in this regard. One thing is certain: He created and sustained far more private sector jobs than Joe Biden ever did.

    • Correct. He’s a real estate developer. If it weren’t for him and his compadres, banks would have absolutely nobody to lend to. And sure, developers are visionaries and sometimes completely miss the market, but they are risk takers and essential to the economy working. Nebishes in the media love, love to mock real estate developers. All of a sudden, contractors and subcontractors are saints. Grrr.

      • Ms. Sorvino seems to have a very high opinion of herself, a sign she might be infected with the narcissism that’s so pervasive in the world of celebrity. She apparently doesn’t feel the need to check or validate the facts, because her status means that people just sit around waiting for the next pearls of wisdom that fall from her lips, or pen, or phone. Truth?…what of it? Facts?…who needs facts? All you need are fans.

Second, it’s possible that she has a very low opinion of those fans and followers. In her mind, they don’t deserve well-thought arguments based on actual research and reality. At the end of the day, they’re just Muggles, who will greedily accept whatever scraps fall from table of someone with an Oscar over there on the shelf.

  3. Mira has been showing up at conventions lately. It’s becoming more common for very recognizable names to start appearing at these things. Susan Sarandon has been doing them, too. We’ve not met either, but these shows are good places to meet fans in a more safe environment, sign autographs, take photos and make a bit of money. One actress we know of did conventions while she was pregnant to fund her maternity leave when she couldn’t work.

Occasionally, though, a show will bring a guest that makes little to no sense. For example, about 14 years ago, a convention in Chicago had Rod Blagojevich as a guest. No one could understand why that choice was made. When the PA system announced he was there and signing autographs, loud boos erupted throughout the hall. I met Adam West at that show. Apparently, Blago had opened the curtain to West’s booth and reached out to shake his hand. When I reached the table, West said (in that Adam West voice), “I just got ambushed by Rod Blagojevich!” He seemed just as perplexed as the fans.

Last December, in Columbus, OH, a convention had both Mike Tyson and Pete Rose as guests. They were both controversial for obvious reasons. There is a type of convention goer that wants certain types of guests to be persona non grata at these shows (For example, Gina Carano – she who was fired from “The Mandalorian” for being insufficiently woke – is hugely popular among some fans. Others want to protest when she’s added to a show.) My feeling there is that, if you don’t like a particular guest, don’t get into the autograph line. I guess that excuses Blago, too. The purpose of the show is to make money, after all. If someone wants his or Gina’s signature and is willing to pay for it, more power to him, I suppose.

Of course, you run the risk that your guest is going to run his or her mouth. Conventions try to encourage fan-friendly practices on the part of the guests, such as punctuality, speed and civil behavior, among which is to avoid discussing sensitive subjects during Q&A sessions. This does not always work. I do remember John Cusack’s ranting about “Kids in Cages”, as well as one almost unknown actor who did a profanity-laden speech about religion (in Indiana, mind you!) despite the presence of children. Many attendees walked out of that one.

I have no idea if Mira would subject a convention audience to her opinion. Another actor I know of actually demands to know who fans in his line voted for and kicks anyone out who admits to voting for Trump.

The big Star Trek convention in Las Vegas (to which I had never been because it would require flying and because also Las Vegas) offers dozens of Trek-related guests. Performers, writers, showrunners, make-up artists, podcasters and others show up to give fans the opportunity to hobnob with them. Lately, though, the convention has been adding those who are not connected to Star Trek. “Galaxy Quest” is a great film loved by Trek fans who recognize the parody and appreciate it. But it’s not a Star Trek movie. Yet, actors from the film are being added as guests at the show. Guests from other sci-fi shows, such as “Battlestar Galactica” are also scheduled to attend.

I guess if people want to see them, that’s fine. It brings in the dough, right?

But this week, the show added a guest that has some people scratching their heads – Mary Trump.

    Yes, that Mary Trump.

Apparently, Mary does a Star Trek/Politics podcast. But there are plenty of other people out there who do podcasts about Star Trek that aren’t guaranteed to go on a rant about one of the candidates. I have pointed out that Mary Trump is famous for only one thing: her last name. She gets interviews because she bashes her uncle. I do not pay admission to shows to be a captive audience to someone’s political soapboxing. If she wants to address Star Trek’s history of using allegory to tackle social issues, fine. But who really believes she’s there to talk about Trek? I will be surprised if she can go a single day without mentioning Uncle Don’s name in a disparaging way. Once she does that, she’s not talking about Star Trek, she’s campaigning for his opponent.

Is this ethical? Is this like having Mike Tyson, Pete Rose or Gina Carano at a show and letting the fans decide? Is it really a market-based decision? What do you all think?
