From the Res Ipsa Loquitur Files…

That’s how VP nominee Tim Walz responded when asked about the American hostage found murdered by Hamas.

Nice! So sensitive, caring, and…courageous.

Sarcasm aside, can anyone think of a positive way to interpret that reaction? “No comment” would be cowardly enough, but turning tail and escaping…wow.

My translation? “I’m sorry, but our handlers haven’t briefed us on how to maneuver around the difficult issue of Palestinian atrocities, and our campaign strategy is to reveal as little of our real opinions as possible, because its our only chance. See ya!”

How hard would it be to do a Clinton, and at least say, “I feel the family’s pain.” It’s phony, of course, but it least that response would show Walz as someone who is smart enough to pretend to care.

What a dumbass.

  1. I’m confused by their picking Walz. He’s as white as white can be. He’s a Christian. He’s heterosexual. He dresses like and is a dad. He was in the National Guard. He wears a ball cap. He’s over-weight. He’s old. Other than being a communist, he’s everything the left despises about deplorables and MAGA Republicans. Can you imagine the reaction if Trump were seen with a milkshake in his hand? At a county or state fair? Where they award prizes for raising animals to be killed and fed to non-vegetarians? This guy’s a Democrat?

  2. He is used to create an appearance that he is middle America. He was chosen to perpetrate a fraud on the electorate because he is relatively unknown and the media will not scrutinize his past.

      • Well, since he has visited China 30 times and been granted residency by the Chinese government (and staying for a year) despite being in the US military, that is a possibility.

    • He’s an attempt to balance the ticket as all modern Presidential campaigns try to do. If you are from the East Coast, you pick someone from the South. If you’re from the West Coast, you pick someone from the Midwest. In fact, Midwestern Vice-Presidential picks are quite common. Some variation in the ticket to appeal to voters not from the Presidential candidates home region is considered smart.

As for Walz, there was no question in anyone’s mind – at least, not the minds of anyone familiar with how this works – that Harris would pick a straight white male. She may be incompetent, but she’s smart enough to know that she needs something to pull in middle America.

  3. They’re not going to answer questions about this. They want the Muslim vote. They have advocates in Corporate Media that will ask the questions, but won’t push back when given non-answers or no answers at all, much less complain about it because they’re on the same team.

    • So lives – black, blue, hispanic, in the womb, whatever – only matter when votes don’t matter more.

That sounds about right for the Left.

  4. He eventually issued an appropriately vetted “response”:

The anguish of losing a child is something no family should have to endure. Gwen and I send our deepest condolences to the Goldberg-Polin family, after Hamas’ murder of their son Hersh. Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization — and we condemn their continued atrocities against both Americans and Israelis in the strongest possible terms.

Jack, you can add “fluent in multiple languages, including Left-wing Non-speak” to your CV.

I realize that candidate Walz may not have been in a campaign situation, but this was hardly an ambush. And frankly, any candidate – including my one-term congressman – should be prepared to at least respond respectfully to any question without retreating for a refill at “Biden’s Best Ice Cream”.

One wonders how long he would have talked had the question been about “my body, my choice.”

A terrible response by Walz, a terrible look, and one that’s sure to never been seen outside of independent and social media and Fox News.

  6. I have trouble concentrating on anything Walz says or does. I get mentally distracted trying to calculate how many acorns he might be able to stuff into his cheeks.

      • That’s what gets into my craw more than anything else. The blatant double standards on display when it comes to Republicans vs Democrats.

Bill Clinton was a good ole boy with a paunch who loved fast food, but it was okay because he jogged and supported abortion. Yet George Bush was a terrible person for hating broccoli and Trump is evil incarnate for his eating habits.

When he took office, Joe Biden was older than Reagan was when Reagan left office, yet John McCain and Bob Dole were deemed too old by Democrats with nary a word about ageism. Or ableism, for that matter, when Dole was mocked for the injured arm he sustained in the line of duty while fighting for his country.
