About That Most Dishonest, Cynical Presidential Campaign Ever…

One might be tempted to add “incompetent,” but we shall see.

That ridiculous photo above of Harris supposedly on the FEMA briefing is signature significance. Witness the serious, troubled look on her face, the pen, the pad of paper, as she listens intently while flying over the hurricane destruction.

Except she isn’t listening, because the earbud dangling from her ear isn’t attached to the phone. Well, but maybe she has the phone on speaker….but what kind of inept staff allows a staged photo like this to be so messed up? And what kind of qualified national leader isn’t alert enough to know it’s going to make her look like a dufus?

“I was just briefed by @FEMA_Deanne Criswell on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene, Harris captioned this photo. “We also discussed our Administration’s continued actions to support emergency response and recovery.   I also spoke with @NC_Governor Cooper about the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in North Carolina.   Our Administration will continue to stay in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need.” Oh, I don’t doubt she had those conversations. But that’s not a photo of her doing so, and she’s telling the public that it is while the evidence that it isn’t is there for anyone alert to see.

My late wife was a stickler for such matters, and noticed all sorts of continuity errors and set dressing mistakes in movies and TV shows. Not me…but if I were directing a stage production I sure noticed them, and if I am reviewing a show, the director gets slammed for allowing such errors. They signal carelessness and a lack of respect for the public, a hallmark of the entire Harris campaign. “Hey, it’s good enough, they won’t notice” appears to be the attitude toward all sorts of dishonest and hypocritical statements and comments.

This insulting mindset is rooted in the whole Biden Administration, where a throbbing, incompetent fool like Karine Jean-Pierre still has her job despite the most consistently unprofessional performance of any White House press secretary in history. She makes Ron Ziegler look like Edward R. Murrow.

Campaign gaffes like this inform the electorate exactly what kind of talent and ability an aspiring leader will rely on.

  1. To be fair, the phone is close enough to the that the cable could be plugged in, but out of sight, but it would be a very strange series of angles for the cables to be dangling….

    • That’s what I was thinking. The bottom of the phone looks to be right on the edge of the tray, so the cable could be plugged in but at that angle we can’t see it. Even if the photo itself was staged and not candid, plugging the earpiece in would be easy enough to do.

This is the party that allowed creepy-jo to sniff and fondle little kids on camera, on stage, in front of everyone for many many years and never reigned the old letch in. I suspect the dem’s standards of excellence are different (lower) than even the average American hillbilly patriot…🤠

  3. Note: that looks like it might be an iPhone sitting there. The newer iPhones don’t even have a jack to plug in headphones they connect to headphones via Bluetooth. My iPhone is a iPhone 14 that I’ve had for well over a year and it doesn’t have a jack for headphones.

    1. That said, if that is a newer iPhone there’s no telling what her headphones are plugged in to.

    2. If that is an old iPhone then the headphones are clearly not plugged into the phone because the headphone jack is on the bottom nearside of the phone and the plug is not visible. Here is roughly how it would look with the headphones plugged into an older iPhone, the thick part of the plug is clearly visible (I just took this photo)…

    3. If that’s not an iPhone, I have no input from personal experience.

    4. Maybe she’s listening to music on a different device.

    5. We actually have no idea when that photo was taken, it could be a stock promotional photo.

    That’s my input.

    • Hey Steve,

While you’re right that newer iPhones don’t have a dedicated audio jack, that doesn’t mean they don’t support wired and plugged in headphones – the headphones simply plug into the charging port. Because modern charging ports double as dataports, they can provide the audio signal for the headphones to be able to function. If you want to be terrified about cyber security, realize that a lot of public charging terminals have been modified to steal data from plugged in devices because of this same functionality.

As such, the connector would be located in the middle of the phone, not on the outer edge.

      • Tim Hayes wrote, “…the headphones simply plug into the charging port.”

I had absolutely no clue that they could do that. I thought the only way was using Bluetooth. I don’t have any reason to use the headphones on an iPhone. Learn something new every day!

I’ve never used the public chargers anyway but I had heard that there was something going on like that, I always plug in to a real 110v power outlet using the AC/DC power converter.

I’ve heard that there is someone out there trying to develop a way to deliver internet services to consumers via 110v power outlets, so I suppose someone will develop way to access data through that port, through a 110v power outlet, and through the tiny AC/DC power converter. When they get to that point I suppose I’ll have to upgrade my phones again.

Thanks for all the information Tim.

  4. My questions are, “Where the fuck is the sitting President of the United States? Who the hell is running the country? If it’s Harris, shouldn’t the 25th Amendment procedure have been followed? Is Harris the de facto President? Anyone? Beuhler?” And why isn’t Harris being mocked mercilessly for flying over hurricane damage as was George W. Bush following Hurrican Katrina?

  5. Aside from all of those reasons, her earbuds or Bluetooth or whatever she actually uses on a conference call should be wireless, unless there’s some unknown security reason I don’t know about? I use wireless, my 3 kids and husband use wireless. In fact, I don’t recall the last time I saw someone not using wireless.

    • There are pretty significant reasons NOT to use wireless headphones/earbuds, especially for politicians and state actors. Bluetooth connections are laughably insecure – while the devices are “paired” to know what they’re broadcasting to, the actual signal is functionally readable to anyone within broadcast range.

Moreover, there have been successful attacks on devices using spoofed Bluetooth signals to install malware on devices, which is presumably not something we want to see happen. A physically wired connection is inherently more secure, and not surprising to see a government official using.

  6. We currently have numerous counties that are functionally wiped out. All the roads and bridges are gone. I-40, the major East-West road through the southern US is impassable, Georgia has a major industrial fire that looks like another East Palestine, OH, we have a dockworker strike, and we have a railway strike. In addition, there is some indication that this damage will cripple semiconductor manufacturing worldwide.

The 82nd Airborne is not on alert, nor are the Marine rapid response teams that are deployed to emergencies all over the world. Tennessee is sending National Guard troops to Syria (?). It is being reported that large numbers of illegal aliens were dropped off in the Hurricane disaster zone just before the storm and are now looting the area.

This weekend, Biden was on the beach, Harris was in California, and Trump went to the disaster zone on Monday. Elon Musk is deploying Starlink after the US government wouldn’t let him provide internet service to remote areas as part of their government program. Bush was criticized for taking 3 days to make to New Orleans for Katrina. Only after Trump arrived on the scene did the current administration think about visiting. They should be there in a couple days.

The US government seems to have airlifted 5% of Haiti into the US, provided them with food and housing. US citizens, however, just have to take a back seat and fend for themselves. But hey, they got rid of the mean tweets for awhile! Now video is surfacing (old video, I’m sure) of Harris stating that in disasters, minority areas have to be given preference for the sake of equity. Hey Appalachia, you will have to wait your turn, your skin isn’t the right color to get federal aid.

Yes, we need 4 more years of this.

  7. The Babylon Bee took this photo and asked its readers to construct a headline based on the photo. A bunch of good ones, one that I thought was especially good:

In Brilliant Strategic Move, VP Harris Begins Planning Land War in Asia
