Unethical Closing Campaign Pitch of the Week: Kamala Harris

1. Wow. Harris has the epic gall to say that her opposition offers a “country of chaos, fear and hate” after her party has run a campaign stretching back years claiming that Donald Trump and his supporters threaten our continued existence as a free country, that his secret goal is to lock up his political opponents, ban abortion, and install himself as a dictator. The President she has served under claiming she is in entirely in sync with his views and policies just called half the nation “garbage”—I may be a bit too sensitive, but I think that’s hateful. For a the past 60 days, Harris’s campaign’s main message is that Donald Trump is Adolf Hitler. Scary! The Democrats have not only made this country one of fear and hate, they have done so deliberately to maintain their power.

2. Chaos? Has there been an administration since the Civil War that wallowed in more chaos than the Biden-Harris term mercifully concuding? Two bloody wars, a disastrous abandonment of Afghanistan, chaos at the border, chaos on campuses, soaring crime in the cities, two assassination attempts on the Republican Presidential candidate, and worst of all, the unsettling and dangerous spectacle of a mentally disabled POTUS , manipulated by an unaccountable group of faceless bureaucrats attempting to hide his condition from the public and, when that became impossible, his party engineering a Soviet-style ouster, bypassing the established process of choosing a nominee.

3. Freedom, eh, Kamala? Free speech absolutist Jonathan Turley ranks Harris and her knucklehead running mate as the most anti-free speech ticket in U.S. history. Both have made statements supporting censorship of social media, “hate speech,” and “misinformation.” Clarence Darrow said that in order to have enough liberty, we must have too much.

Bingo.

4. The Ethics Alarms position is that any candidate for office who claims to be supported by God is a charlatan. It also speaks of the candidate’s contempt for anyone listening, as well as signature significance for—let’s see–dishonesty, arrogance, immodesty, blasphemy…stupidity? Would any divine being be so reckless as to choose the likes of Kamala Harris as the agent of His “divine plan”? I know the Lord works in mysterious ways, but…come on.

5. Talk about “mysterious ways”! Harris is going to heal division after running the most divisive Presidential campaign within memory? She might as well promise to jog across Lake Michigan…

6. Hey, that would really be a deranged tactic for Trump: telling his supporters not to vote! He has never said anything even approaching that, but never mind: did you know Trump lies all the time?

7. As I know I have asked many times: when do Democrats slap themselves in the forehead and say, “Wait a minute! This woman is treating me like I’m a complete idiot!” ? If they haven’t done it by know, I’m afraid, they never will.

  1. So what about the Seltzer Poll that suddenly everyone is jumping on to show that Trump is in danger of losing a solid red state and therefore the race? Everyone talks about that poster having a pristine record. Is it legit, or is it just a late hit?

  2. Emerson came out with an almost simultaneous poll showing Trump at +10.5 in Iowa. Every other poll shows Iowa as red – well beyond the margin of error. Seltzer might be a Hail Mary to get Democrats in Iowa out tomorrow.

It could have been poor/biased sampling. Johnson County votes 70+% Democrat as a whole, Linn County is blue, as is Black Hawk, Polk (the state’s largest, with a rough 55-45 split), and probably Story. Pretty much everything else?…red as the backside of an ape. And frankly, Iowa isn’t likely to determine the Presidency anyways. I live in Polk County, and I’m not overly worried. There are bigger fish over which to fret.

    • Yeah, I’ve heard about the new Iowa poll, which also shows 2 of its Republican congressmen in jeopardy.

What’s interesting is that RCP, when you look at Iowa, shows the new poll with Harris leading but it doesn’t show the new Emerson poll.

It is really a good thing I don’t go in for, you know, c— theories.

Another thought on this. Democrats are always salivating over turning Texas blue, and so far they have always failed miserably. This year is no exception with Cruz running for Senate, but I cannot see them succeeding.

It seems to me that Iowa is another one of those states that the Democrats have these dreams of flipping to blue. That might be a tad more based in reality, but this fits in that pattern.

      • Iowa has been reliably middle-of-the-road over the years, though trending more Republican of late. Our GOP governor won her re-election in ’22 by 20 points. Clinton twice, B43 twice, Obama twice, Trump twice. You can see the pattern, so draw your own conclusion about tomorrow.

        • i refuse to believe that all of these other polls up to now and then the Emerson poll are all wrong and only this one, with 808 responders, is right.

        • Yes, I don’t know that I’ve heard anything but very good things of your governor — Reynolds, isn’t it?

As well, I’d think that the fact that the Democrats have abandoned Iowa as a frontrunner in the presidential primary race is a tell.

          • Gov. Reynolds has been a VERY good governor. I would imagine that – despite her early endorsement of Ron DeSantis – she would have been given some consideration as a VP nominee for President Trump. I’m glad it went to Vance instead. At this point, I want to keep her in Iowa as long as possible.

  3. I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that started with Trump winning East Coast states early on the in the evening and the map turning red going West.

I have no idea what that means.

The Bible tells us that we sometimes get the leaders we deserve. That God would allow us to have these two candidates appears to mean that he is super hot at us right now. I don’t think either one of them should be parading that they have the Almighty directing their candidacies. Last night, my church had a special prayer service for the election. No endorsements…just prayer that God would forgive the U.S. of its irresponsible slackness, that our election would be free of violence, that we would have a clear victory on one side or the other and that He would use whoever wins for good.

God can use terrible people. Whether he will use Trump or Harris to punish us or to bring us out of this difficult time is up in the air. I guess we’ll have to see.

    • My college recently made an unusual hire when replacing the recently retired incumbent president. I asked a friend who’s on the board of trustees why they chose the guy they did. The friend is a private equity guy and probably hires chief executives to run the companies he owns all the time. Without making any attempt at further explaining, he simply said of the guy they hired, “He was the best candidate they presented to us.” Sound thinking for anyone considering not voting or throwing their vote away on a third-party candidate as a protest.

  4. Something like,

Them: Our cause is blessed. See, Trump has God on his side. Survived an assassination attempt by a quarter inch.

God: Oh no no. No you don’t. He’s only going to get nicked for some entertainment value. Your nation isn’t finished suffering its horrible leaders that it deserves.

  5. “The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times since 2016 that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left and their lapdog media actively push?”Steve Witherspoon

I’ve got to get a good night sleep tonight. I have to be at the polling station (I’m a poll worker this year) tomorrow morning at 6am and work until 2pm, then I come back just before the polls close and work until everything is done when ever that might be. It’s gonna be a long day.

    VOTE!!!

    • Thank you for your service, Steve.

For ~two (2) decades, my Dear late FIL handed me a ballot at my polling place.

I’ll vote, in person, on the day of the election; he’d have wanted it that way.

      PWS

    • Good on you, Steve, for participating on the election process. I hope you got a good nights rest and are prepped for the day. I hope everything is boringly uneventful. Stay hydrated!
