Unethical Quote of the Day: CNN’s Van Jones

As a Democrat, I am proud that my party isn’t hypocritical.”

—Van Jones, CNN’s reliable race-baiting progressive propagandist.

And shameless, too! That statement this morning in a post election autopsywith morning host John Berman (a partisan ally) and Scott Jennings, CNN’s token conservative made my head explode, as you can see above.

The topic was Harris’s assurances to Trump that there would be an orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and that Democrats would accept the will of the voters. Van (and Berman) were pointing out the contrast with Trump’s reaction after the 2020 election.

The gall of these people continues to break previous records. Democrats were fully amped up to challenge the election results if Trump won. Jamie Raskin made it clear that plans were in place to “fight” if the election results showed Trump squeaking out a win. Democrats never accepted Trump’s 2016 election as legitimate. Their supporters rioted on Inauguration Day. They investigated him, impeached him twice, didn’t extend to him even the basic traditional deference and respect every previous elected President since Lincoln had received.

To prevent Trump from putting Democrats in a position where they would have to transfer power, they used extreme fearmongering rhetoric designed to make citizens view him as a threat to the nation, resulting in two assassination attempts. They were trying to put him in prison right up to election day. An excessive fine in a civil case was engineered to cripple his finances, making a Presidential run more difficult.

As I noted yesterday, Trump was accused by Democrats of inciting a riot (and an “insurrection”) by exhorting his followers to “fight,” and Kamala Harris used the exact same rallying cry yesterday. Democrats, including Harris and Walz, cheered on the Black Lives Matter rioting, which went on for weeks and cost lives and property, but they have sought extreme penalties for participants in the January 6, 2021 single day riot at the Capitol.

This is only one area—there are so, so many more—in which the Democratic party has engaged is exactly the conduct they have accused Trump and the Republicans of engaging in, notably…

… using the tactics of fascists. But they are proud of not being hypocrites. They haven’t fought the election results because they have no choice. Trumps victory was unequivocal and beyond challenge.

Routine double standards and obvious gaslighting are among the reasons the Democrats got clobbered this week. I wonder if they are capable of learning? Jones, a pure, ruthless propagandist, certainly is not.

  1. Van Jones can go bounce on a pickle for all I care. My fear is of riots by those who don’t give a damn about whether or not the results are legit, they want Trump gone. I want to honor the veterans on Monday, not worry if trash cans are going to explode.

    • I hope and pray the Secret Service agents are able to (or willing to) keep Trump and his family safe.

Trump has a remarkable supporting team around him with tremendous potential for making the necessary very long overdue corrections within the ugly dirty swamp of government avarice.

Have a nice day and keep the faith…🤠

  2. As the sage Mrs. OB observed yesterday, “They’re not going to change.” They’re all acting as if Harris won. It’s all “Orange Man Bad!” all the time.

By the way, Mrs. OB thinks the media will have to change and be less shrilly far left because if they don’t, their owners will start losing money and they’ll fire the current brace of hacks. I don’t see that happening. I think the Shulzbergers and Bezoses and other media owners are actually true believers and are content to preach to the choir until Utopia has been established among the peasants.

    • I think Bezos has some concerns for his bottom line, as evidenced by the manager he hired earlier this year for the Post, and his message about not endorsing a candidate.

I think he is ultimately a true believer in money.

The current staff at WaPo isn’t likely to change much. But if they need to hire folks to replace some of the ones who resigned in a huff, all bets are off.

We’ll see. I am a lot happier to be dealing with this problem than having to deal with a President Harris.

  3. Just a quick note…Real Clear Politics has now called Nevada and Arizona for Trump/Vance.

Assuming that holds, it’s 312-226 as the final score.
