“I’m not a Democrat. I’m a journalist.”
—WaPo columnist Catherine Rampell, after being mocked by CNN conservative contributor Scott Jennings for her standand anti-Trump talking points.
Rampell was responding to Jennings’ comment that “You still don’t understand how you lost.”
Jeez, somebody tell her! Nobody believes this myth any more. That she would even say that on national TV justifies the public’s lack of trust in the mainstream media, the Post, and Rampell. Props to Jennings for not falling off his chair in helpless laughter and rolling on the floor.

Her statement is redolent of echoes of Fredo: “I’m not stupid, I’m smart!”
It’s so bizarre…. Politics isn’t about the 50/50 issues. It’s about the 80/20 issues. You want to take the issues where 80% of the electorate agrees with you, and shine a spotlight on it. You want to highlight that your opponent supports the 20% position. Kamala’s entire Campaign was either fluff, or focusing on her 20’s. The one issue she had that might have been closer to 50/50 was Roe, but even then… She ran a deeply disconnected campaign, which led to a Republican winning the popular vote for the first time since like… George Bush Sr.
And these Democrat bobbleheads just don’t seem to get that. I agree with Jennings: That’s great!
HT, they simply want to force the 20% policies down the throats of the 80%. Hubris.
It’s like Israel…. Israel is not a 50/50 issue anywhere but on Campuses. For most of America, unconditional support for Israel is a significantly popular policy, and the spectrum goes from there, with 80% of people signing on long before “there’s fine people on both sides.” And yet, the Democrats allowed themselves to be turned into the Hamas caucus for some reason. Harris tried to distance herself from that, but after years of wavering support at best, she could never bring herself to a resounding condemnation of literal terrorists.
I have been seeing crazy rumors about Trump’s first press secretary for the coming term. They basically boil down to the two candidates being Rosanne Barr and Alex Jones with Alex Jones as the winner. Now, I fully believe that these are just hilarious rumors/trolling. However, things people like Catherine Rampell make me think that the press deserves no better than to have to go in and deal with Alex Jones as Press Secretary for 3 months.
Remind me who his last one was? She was pretty good at shutting down stupid questions. I wonder if he could recruit her again?
Roseanne? Alex Jones? Neither is qualified nor is suited for that type of work.
Kayleigh McEnany…or something like that…?
This is going to date me some, but my favorite Press Secretary is still Marlin Fitzwater.
I think Trump should offer the job to Scott Jennings.
