‘Nah, There’s No Deep State!’ Res Ipsa Loquitur At The State Dept. Proves Otherwise

Among the many dishonest arguments that have been flying around in the mainstream media, that is, the Democratic Party’s “Get Trump!” propaganda arm, is that the efforts of the incoming administration to clear government bureaucracies of untrustworthy lifetime workers is inherently sinister. After all, we are told, these are virtuous, experienced, ethical and non-partisan specialists in their fields who show their patriotism by working for every President with equal verve, cooperation and the determination to follow the will of the people. That’s a lie, and the previous Trump administration showed us (and Trump of course) how much of a lie it is.

Nonetheless, the news media continues to advance the myth. Why? Because they want an entrenched progressive Deep State to undermine conservative policies and Republican Presidents, especially Trump. That’s why.

We have Representative Darrell Issa to thank for blowing a whistle on recent flagrant evidence of the Deep State at, appropriately enough, the State Department.

The Free Beacon reported a week after the election that the State Department paid for political grief counseling after their employees’ favorite candidate—Guess who!—lost the election. Issa wrote to Biden Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, demanding answers.

“As a Senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I write to you regarding reports of official post-election State Department therapy and listening sessions,” Issa wrote in part. “I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy through the provision of government-funded mental health counseling because Kamala Harris was not elected President of the United States.” Comment: Would similar grief sessions have been held if Trump had lost? Of course not. “It is unacceptable that the Department accommodates this behavior and subsidizes it with taxpayer dollars. Furthermore, the mere fact that the Department is hosting these sessions raises significant questions about the willingness of its personnel to implement the lawful policy priorities that the American people elected President Trump to pursue and implement.” Comment: Gee, ya think? “The Trump Administration has a mandate for wholesale change in the foreign policy arena, and if foreign service officers cannot follow through on the American people’s preferences, they should resign and seek a political appointment in the next Democrat administration.”

Bingo. You can read Issa’s whole letter here. Correctly observes Red State, “The original story and this letter by Representative Issa go to the very core of what President Trump and Secretary Rubio will face when taking office. The civil service and foreign service workforce that bills itself as “apolitical” and “non-partisan” is actually highly political and extraordinarily partisan. You can count on internal resistance, leaks, and sabotage.”sn’t it remarkable how often we see the same people who falsely proclaim that matters are the opposite of how they really are continue to be so conspicuous in contradicting their own dishonest representations? What is that?

  1. It’s called projection.

Everything they say comes from their own life and what they see and may be doing.

Actually a few years ago I started wondering “what if what they accuse others of doing is what they themselves are doing?” especially when they assign motive. Which they have NO way of knowing, unless…

    My .02 cents!

    • It will help Montgomery County realize their “achievable housing” goals. They no longer use affordable because nothing is affordable there unless you are making 6 figures.

  2. I think we’ve already moved on past “The Deep State is a right-wing conspiracy theory” stage of the propaganda cycle, to the “Of course there’s a Deep State, and that’s a good thing” stage.

  3. Adult government employees being treated as if they are kindergarten students. All the things everyone has pointed to notwithstanding, that’s simply horrifically wrong. Do they get mental health days? Do they have playrooms at Foggy Bottom and in every embassy around the world? Do they get milk and cookies in the afternoon? Are sharp scissors verboten? All the crap from goofball colleges has infiltrated the workplace. What is wrong with these people, particularly the people who are, allegedly, in charge?
