From the Res Ipsa Loquitur Files

  1. The bank robbers’ release of the bodies of four hostages, including a mother and her two children – one of them just a nine-month old baby when abducted – serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need to immediately release all hostages and bank robbers arbitrarily detained.

Who writes something like that and let’s it be posted, much less believe it’s true?

  2. I wonder what it said before the single person in the conference room objected and managed to get “arbitrarily” weaseled in.

I learned about Amnesty International from Gary Larson. He noted in one of his anthologies they would mail in complaints whenever a depiction of torture was drawn.

  3. Well, now that we know that most foreign aid NGO’s are fronts for the CIA or powerful Democrats, we should have very little respect for any of them. I saw Doctors without Borders come up on the DOGE reports a few days ago, but I haven’t had time to look into it. As far as the ‘legitimate’ NGO’s, they are all looking like Chelsea Clinton’s NGO that provides meals to starving Africans. Seems like the kind of legit aid that you can use and an example of why not all the aid should be cut. Then you find out that the cost averages $1400/meal and you realize that even the ‘legit’ ones are likely money laundering scams. How did Chelsea get to use $3 million in the Haiti aid for her wedding and $10 million to buy a house (as reported).

How long before we find that vast amounts of Amnesty International aid comes with ideology-strings and vast amounts are ‘missing’, much like the $35 trillion that is missing from the DoD?

    • My eyes started opening to the Clinton’s when Bill was appointed special envoy to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, and the billions that were raised or pledged just vanished and no one in the media asked any questions.

    • I decided to ignore the “killed in Israeli bombings” because it was ethically stupid, not that I expect Hamas or any Palestinian support to have basic ethical analysis abilities. If you kidnap anyone, you are 100% responsible for any harm that comes to the victim, whether you inflict it directly or it arrives via other agency. Dog bite, black widow spider, falling bricks, flu, Israeli bombs, it doesn’t matter. The kidnappers are accountable, liable and guilty. The victims are only exposed to whatever killed them because of the kidnapper’s crime. NcArdle’s tweet is idiotic and ignorant.

  4. The children Ariel and Kfir Bibas were not killed by Israeli bombings; they were strangled by hand, after which their bodies were mutilated. The coffin that supposedly contained the body of Shiri Bibas contained the body of another person.

The spectacle of the handover of the coffins demonstrated that this is not just a Hamas problem, the population and culture is part of it.

Morally this will give Israel the right to do with Gaza whatever they want, without any restraint regarding the population of Gaza. I would not mourn to see the entire Gaza enclave go the way of Sodom and Gomorrah, as there are not ten morally upright people left in Gaza.
