How Can These People (Democrats, Journalists) Look Themselves in the Mirror Without Retching?

You shouldn’t need that montage to know these people can’t be trusted. I know I don’t.

Jake Tapper will never darken my TV screen again, and the fact that CNN will keep presenting this epic hypocrite as a legitimate broadcast journalist achieves a dead heat in the “Most Disgraceful Excuse for a News Network” competition with MSNBC. Joe Concha writes in The Washington Examiner,

An unearthed five-year-old interview is rightly making the rounds this week. It stars CNN’s Jake Tapper and Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump. In the 2020 interview, weeks before Election Day, Lara Trump made the case that former President Joe Biden appeared to show signs of cognitive decline. She wasn’t wrong — even one year earlier, Democrats were saying the same thing. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said in September 2019: “There’s a lot of people who are concerned about Joe Biden’s ability to carry the ball all the way across the end line without fumbling. There are definitely moments when you listen to Joe Biden and you just wonder.”…

But when Lara Trump broached Biden’s decline in that interview with Tapper, the CNN “anchor” went into full defense mode on behalf of his preferred candidate in the race by citing Biden’s stutter as the reason he was having memory trouble and communication troubles in general. “How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like that?” Tapper asked her…..“I would think that somebody in the family would be more sensitive to people who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar…

“I’m saying Joe Biden is struggling at times onstage, and it’s concerning to a lot of people that this could be the leader of the free world,” she retorted. “That is all I’m saying. I genuinely feel sorry for Joe Biden.”

“I’m sure [your comments] were from a place of concern. We all believe that,” Tapper snarked in return.

And yet Tapper has the astounding gall to promote a book he’s co-written with Axios’s Alex Thompson, “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.” Oh, Biden stayed in his basement for the majority of the 2020 campaign, doing easy interviews that often felt scripted, and anyone paying attention could tell that he had slipped badly since 2016. He kept slipping too, and it was even more obvious. Nevertheless, as poor Joe aged and lost metaphorical marbles throughout his term, Tapper remained Biden’s loyal defender, not an inquisitive, objective journalist…though, to be fair he didn’t have many examples to emulate.

Suddenly, with a book to hawk, he’s claiming he and the other reporters were victims of a lying White House. (The ridiculous Chuck Todd is making a similar claim.) “The bottom line is the White House was lying not only to the press, not only to the public, but they were lying to members of their own Cabinet, staffers, Democrats in Congress, about how bad things had gotten,” he said on CNN this week. Why he wasn’t struck by lightning is strong evidence that thee is no God.

For this insults everyone’s intelligence. It’s like arguing that when Jimmy Durante in “Jumbo” said “What elephant?” when he had the largest one in the world on the other end of the rope he was holding, it was his fault if the sheriff didn’t see the elephant! If I knew Biden was slipping into dementia—and I did— just based on my own observations in my spare time, the journalists whose job is to cover the Presidency had to know it too. I may be smarter than they are, but I’m not that much smarter.

“I didn’t know human beings were capable of the level of audacity and fraud that drives Jake Tapper’s book tour: pretending he’s the angry victim of the WH which prevented him from knowing about Biden’s cognitive decline,” Glenn Greenwald wrote on Twitter/X. Oh, sure you did, Glenn: why do you think this clip from Casablanca is still so funny?

Now, yesterday, we learn that Biden has serious metastatic prostate cancer. Gee, that’s funny: prostate cancer is famously slow-spreading, and in February of last year, Biden’s doctor reported that he was a ‘healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male,” after his physical. The totalitarian Democrats tried to get Kamala Harris elected President without subjecting her to primaries or a competitive convention, but it increasingly looks like their master plan was to elect a President who couldn’t finish his term so Harris could become President without an election either.

But Donald Trump was the existential threat to democracy…..

  1. but it increasingly looks like their master plan was to elect a President who couldn’t finish his term so Harris could become President without an election either.

This is what I don’t get: Why didn’t they use the 25th Amendment to make Harris president at any point before the election, especially since skipping the primary showed their lack of confidence in her? Sure she still would’ve had to run for 2025, but still could’ve boasted the “first woman of color president” even if she lost.

  2. “The totalitarian Democrats tried to get Kamala Harris elected President without subjecting her to primaries or a competitive convention, but it increasingly looks like their master plan was to elect a President who couldn’t finish his term so Harris could become President without an election either.”

That was my theory in 2020. I didn’t think Biden would last all four years. I assumed there was a fix in so that Biden would resign in six months to a year into his term so that Harris would become an historic President without virtue of an election.

How much Biden knew about this fix was up in the air.

As it became obvious that Harris was a babbling fool, the plan had to change and they held on to each day hoping that Biden could be managed effectively enough to fool people..

    • Biden probably signed off on the deal but realized he liked being President and all of the pekrs involved, so he reneged, leaving the DNC scrambling with no real options.

  3. I was speaking about the prostate cancer to my mother, who among other things, is an RN with the four year degree and worked for many years as a nurse, quitting once she felt that the job she was required to do, and the medical profession as a whole, was too unethical to be a part of. She is NO fan of Joe Biden, falling farther right on the whole conservative/liberal scale than I do, and I’m admittedly pretty far right. She cautioned me that there is a form of prostate cancer that is very aggressive and moves extremely fast, killing everyone who gets it and quickly. She reminded me of our parish priest when I was in middle school, who was healthy when he came, June before my sixth grade year, and was shortly failing, diagnosed, and dead before I made it to eighth or ninth grade.

There is a type of prostate cancer that Joe Biden MAY have that could move this fast. However, my mother admitted, after the last 5 years, it is easier to believe that there was a coverup. I know I’m leaning towards coverup myself, but I think it is good for me to remember that maybe it really is the aggressive form, if only to keep some faith in humanity.

    • That’s the problem when you or the people backing you show their willingness to deceive the public about health issues. Biden may very well have just now been diagnosed with cancer but there’s no way to know if that’s the truth because of everything else they lied about.

    • Yes, as I understand it, there is a type of prostate cancer that is very aggressive and fast spreading. It is not common but it does exist.

I would have to assume that Biden has been getting a PSA blood test for at least the last 15-20 years. The PSA test is used to screen for prostate cancer (along with the digital rectal exam). If it is elevated, then your doctor will recommend additional tests: An MRI (very unpleasant), then a needle biopsy of the prostate, which is a fairly routine outpatient procedure. If they find some cancer your doctor will likely also ask for a PET scan of the rest of your body to see if it has spread beyond the prostate.

I would assume that Biden recently had a test that triggered some of this further testing, which revealed his cancer. I cannot believe that any physician would conceal something like an elevated PSA test, if for no other reason than it would almost certainly be his entire medical team.

Would you want to be sued for malpractice by the president of the United States? And failing to act on an elevated PSA test would be prima facie evidence of that.

Finally, even if I am wrong and they were covering up evidence of prostate cancer — this is not something that affects your mental processes. Also, if it were ‘normal’ prostate cancer that started to show up in, say, 2021, as I understand it there is an excellent chance Biden would still be able to serve his 8 years without problems from the cancer.

  4. If I knew Biden was slipping into dementia—and I did— just based on my own observations in my spare time, the journalists whose job is to cover the Presidency had to know it too.

I’d hazard a guess that about 77 million of us knew; which is what makes Tapper, and everyone else who looked straight in the camera and lied, so utterly beneath contempt.

  5. With reference to Sarah B.’s mom, I had prostate cancer which was thought to be “late” stage 3 when diagnosed/biopsied, to stage 4 when biopsied after removal. My PSA scores had been stable for a decade after a serious prostate infection (which went septic – there are 3 stages to that, I think, and I was on my way to the one where your organs start to shut down – my prostate hated me, apparently), and jumped from consistent low to mid 1s over that time to 5.7 in one year. The Gleason score was 7 at initial biopsy (that process sucks, btw…) to 8 or 9 in the lab at removal two months later.

I would’ve been dead in short order were it not for the ex wife (with whom I argued terribly, ironically enough) making an appointment for me, that I only kept because I didn’t want to pay the missed appointment charge. I digress.

I am willing to believe his cancer was not unlike mine, and I give my history in case someone more knowledgeable here would say I had some undiagnosed form given the slightly elevated (but at the high end of “normal”) scores.

However, one of the websites I visit posted a clip from 2022 (I think) where Mr. Biden stated he had cancer, and they called it a gaffe (I need to listen to the clip, I didn’t play it). So the question is, are people really sick enough to do what’s now being asserted on the right?

I think for most reasonable people, the idea that a group of politicians would be morbid enough to run a demented old man with cancer for office, and let him die once in to get the first woman of color in to the White House is unimaginable.

I am reminded of my Dear Sainted Mother’s marriage to a real estate developer many years ago. A property was developed to which he was one of the principle investors. He was due the proceeds from that development (had to be hundred of thousands, back in the early 80s) when his business partners learned that his Hodgkin’s cancer had returned for the second time.

They withheld his proceeds, at which point he told them pay or he’d file suit. They told him go ahead and file, he won’t live long enough to see it to conclusion. Which was true, he died in less than a year after diagnosis (I think it was about 6 months, the last month and a half of which was absolutely horrendous…).

Yes, people are evil enough to run a diseased, demented old man for office and let him die to achieve their own ends. The really evil and pathetic thing about it is you know full well that “Dr. Jill” and Hunter were on board with it.

Evil has become a trite description in modern political discourse, but this truly is. I wonder if demonic has lost it’s flavor. They really have become the Demonocratic Party.

  6. I think a new clip should illustrate this issue. The scene in “Cat on a Hot tin Roof” when Burl lves, repeats the word “mendacity, I m surrounded b mendacity.”. Just a suggestion

  7. Another wrinkle from our AI friends:
treatment for prostate cancer, particularly androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), can sometimes cause symptoms that mimic dementia or lead to stumbling and uncoordinated behavior. ADT, a common hormone therapy, can affect cognitive function and potentially increase the risk of dementia. In addition, certain treatments, like those targeting the central nervous system when cancer has spread, can also cause neurological deficits…”
Heard a TV doc mention this, too.
