Two permanent fixtures of the Trump Derangement narrative are:
- President trump has no sense of humor.
- President Trump is slipping into dementia (like Joe Biden), and should therefore be removed via the 25th Amendment.
Both of these are demonstrably false, even absurdly false. Demented people don’t have the quick wit to pick up on a straight line like that. And Trump even had the sense to “go out on the big laugh,” as the old vaudevillians used to say. When you get a big laugh, it’s time to end your appearance.
That incident today doesn’t prove that this President is wise, right, responsible or even well-intentioned. But the fact that the Axis of Unethical Conduct that has been working without pause to destroy Donald Trump since 2016 may be explained by another fact: that their hate and bias makes it impossible for them to avoid underestimating their foe.
As Sun Tsu said (but in Chinese), “There is no greater danger than underestimating your opponent….Never underestimate your opponent or your enemy. Looks can be deceiving. You really don’t know what your opponent knows or what kind of skills he or she may have.” In the same vein, Machiavelli’s writings also repeatedly warned against underestimating an opponent, and to assume that your adversary is “always capable and cunning.”
The ethics values at issue here are competence, prudence, objectivity, professionalism, respect, fairness, and perspective.
Morons…
The talking point that Trump is mentally and physically in decline and needs to be removed from office has to be the most pathetic, projectionist, thread-bare talking point which, nonetheless, the Dems continue to flog like a rented mule. It elicits a big John McEnroe, “Are you SERIOUS?”
And yet, I hear it all the time. Because, like the Soviets, someone not supporting their cant means they must be insane or demented.
That’s amazing. I assumed it was just operatives and media outlets saying it.
Yes, I hear it all the time from my leftist family members.
I actually listened to the entire Trump podcast on Joe Rogan because I was told by multiple family members that Trump “slurred his speech often, was incoherent, and clearly in decline.” I listened carefully to the entire thing. That was one of Trump’s best performances in the election cycle. I knew that no one actually listened to any of it. They formed the opinion that he sounded bad either by trusting word of mouth, or watched a clip that was edited in the opposite manner as Kamala’s performance on 60 minutes.
As I’ve commented before, many times here, the line also demonstrates the stupidity of the democrat party.
The reason nobody really wanted a 25th amendment action against Biden was because no one, left or right, wanted president Harris. We’re not sure who was in charge, but the nefarious puppet string holders were most likely more competent than Harris.
Trump and the 25th amendment is quite the opposite. If the intelligence of the democrat leadership was anywhere above lukewarm, they’d recognize that they really should fear JD Vance. He’s young, he’s smart and his is most definitely to the right of Trump.
I do manage to silence many people talking about Trump’s alleged decline by pointing out: “If Trump manages to make it to January 20th, 2027, Vance is eligible to run two more terms. Why are you for 10 years of President Vance?”
Heartily agreed. J.D. Vance is the biggest beneficiary of Trump’s 2024 win.
