Item: The Democratic Mayor of Chicago hits the zenith of Orwellian NewSpeak and progressive “It isn’t what it is” gaslighting. Plus he’s an idiot.
Asked about “illegal aliens” in Chicago by a reporter, Mayor Brandon Johnson actually said, “We don’t have illegal aliens. I don’t know if that’s from some sort of sci-fi message for which you’ve had.”
Chicago has lots of illegal aliens, which is the accurate term for non-citizens (aliens) who are on U.S. soil illegally.
The reporter explained that he was using the accurate legal term, and Johnson, against all odds, made an even more ridiculous remark. “Listen, the legal term for my people were slaves,” he said. “You want me to use that term, too?”
Well, yes, if one is to referring to the period in which “his people” were, in fact, slaves, called slaves, sold as slaves, and referred to themselves as slaves.
“Let’s just get the language right,” the mayor continued. “We’re talking about undocumented individuals that are human beings. The last thing that I’m going to do is accept that type of racist, nasty language to describe human beings.”
Just as calling slaves “slaves” isn’t racist, calling illegal aliens “illegal aliens isn’t “racist.” “Undocumented individuals that are human beings” (Catchy!) are, in fact, illegal aliens.
Johnson’s increasingly crazy party today believes that calling a dog’s tail a leg, in Lincoln’s famous analogy, makes it a leg. Call a President a “king,” and he is one. Call a man a woman, and Poof! She’s can win women’s swimming competitions. Call a senile President “sharp as a tack,” and that’s what he is.

Item: Speaking of false descriptions, here is California governor Gavin Newsom on the “All the Smoke” podcast hosted by those keen and probing political experts, ex-NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson:
“All this anti-woke stuff is just anti-Black, period, full stop. All the CRT, ESG, DEI stuff, that’s all it is.”
Right. And this is still the IQ 60-level of discourse Democrats are campaigning on now. Opposing their party’s “good discrimination” policies is racist.
For an encore, Newsom evoked Joe Biden telling a black audience in 2012 that Republicans wanted to but them “back in chains.” He previewed his party’s planned rhetoric when the Supreme Court finally knocks out a section to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 because it discriminates on the basis of race, and said, “They’re literally putting America in reverse, quite literally, to a pre-1960s world.” No, you lying hack, they will be—literally—acknowledging that it isn’t 1965 any more, and openly using race to justify gerrymandering can’t be justified or allowed as a “temporary” exception to the civil rights laws.

Item: A report last week revealed that Democrats on the House Oversight Committee along with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and a student group at Loyola University Chicago have proposed the creation of a nationwide database to track the locations and movements of ICE and CBP agents across the country. The idea is to foil law enforcement, so “undocumented individuals that are human beings” can hide from I.C.E. agents and Democrats can physically attack them.
The conservative X account Libs of TikTok also obtained copies of an email from Illinois State Rep. Margaret Croke revealing how the tracker would work. She relayed to her constituents the make, model, and license plate numbers of I.C.E. vehicles “seen today” and continued,
“Just as we have witnessed in neighborhoods across our city, ICE is conducting their unlawful and undemocratic actions in the 12th House district, including the very block I reside on. If you see something, record it as that might help protect someone from either being picked up off the street or unnecessarily and forcibly handled by ICE agents. If you know someone who is afraid to leave their home out of fear of ICE, offer to help however you can, such as running an errand on their behalf or picking up their kids from school. And if you know anyone who might be at risk, be sure that they know their rights.”
More “it isn’t what it is,” you will notice: I.C.E. is enforcing the laws Democrats urged foreigners to break and refused to enforce. I.C.E.’s activity is not “illegal.” The actions of those interfering with it is.
What a schizophrenic political party the Democrats have created in the 21st century! After toppling all those statues of Civil War generals, it is emulating the Confederacy.

Are you kidding? To not do so would mean forfeiting all self-respect! Trump is evil incarnate, as are the morons who didn’t vote for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. Not only that, they’re not all in on the Progressive Project. They have the audacity to question the dictates handed down by their betters in the Left.
You know, back ten or twenty years ago when the term “undocumented” came on the scene, there seemed to be an understanding that notwithstanding the slick, kinder, gentler new term, the people involved were still here in violation of federal law. That’s not the case anymore. The “undocumented” seem to have acquired some sort of special standing. It’s as if they’ve acquired some sort of visa and under it they are entitled to all the benefits of citizenship even though they have a few hoops to jump through, or, in the alternative, I suppose, they can just wait until the Dems get a supermajority in Congress and get the White House, at which point there will be a massive amnesty and they’ll become “documented.”
I think this is why it’s important to nip these misleading terms in the bud. They take on a life of their own, as if they are pathogenic.
I can’t decide if I feel sorry for those who are swayed into interfering with ICE operations. The democrats and their minions play it up as “harmless hijinks” when in reality, they’re federal felonies.
This is going to turn out much like the Jan 6 people. They thought it wasn’t any big deal, only to end up in a federal prison for multiple years.
