Just Reminding Ethics Alarms Bashers That We Had The Pandemic Cons and Hysteria Sniffed Out From The Start…

To this day, I have refused to refer to “Covid” except in settings where I feared being misunderstood. Ethics Alarms announced long, long ago that the official designation of the pandemic virus was designed to obscure reality, which was that the world-wide disaster was entirely China’s fault, and attention should be paid. It also was part of the Axis plan to continue to paint Donald Trump as a racist. It has been the Wuhan Virus here from the beginning, and always shall be thus.

Ethics Alarms also, with the assistance of many of the blog’s five commenters, notably Michael Ejercito, immediately ruled the closing down of the schools, commerce, recreation, worship and more as unethical, incompetent, irresponsible and dishonest, along with the organized fear-mongering by the news media, notably the New York Times. We were right about that, too, and unlike other situations where the site took a stand with a fair amount of uncertainty, on this one I was relatively certain from the beginning.

I thought about all this after bloggress Ann Althouse posted a long quote from minor political comic Adam Carolla (of “The Man Show” with Jimmy Kimmel before Jimmy went woke—see which one has a network TV show?) from a Joe Rogan podcast:

“Where’s the anger over finding out that it was made in China at a lab… and then where’s the anger over being forced or being vaxxed or all this misinformation being used?… I realized they don’t want to say anything ’cause they’re ashamed because they were the ones who bought it and enforced it and got really militant about it and started screaming at anyone who suggested it came from a lab or suggested the shot wasn’t good or gonna work or spread or natural immunity. They went after everyone’s so hard that now it’s a lesson in embarrassment and humiliation for them to go, oh, mea culpa.… I think the people that were a little more neutral about it can definitely process it. Everyone else is sort of reporting that they’re idiots if they do this and they’re gullible. And it also leaves them vulnerable for the next one. Meaning, if you go, Hey man, I was a hundred percent wrong about all things COVID. I thought it came from a pangolin and a wet market. I thought getting triple vaxxed would save the day. I thought Ivermectin was the horse paste or whatever. Like, I went all in and I was 100% wrong. If you do that, well eventually there’s going to be another thing that comes along. And it doesn’t have to be a pandemic, it can just be, whatever — climate change. And then you go, Well, you know how wrong you were about everything, covid? Perhaps you are wrong about climate change or this next thing or who you voted for. And they don’t want open that window.”

Yeah, I’m ticked off about the whole fiasco, especially as it destroyed my business, income, credit rating, and helped kill my wife with the resulting stress. At least I have the wan consolation that I wasn’t panicked, fooled or freaked-out, except by the eagerness with which Americans accepted draconian social control. Weenies, liars, fools, dupes and assholes.

Actually, I’m kind of sorry Ann reminded me.

  1. The pandemic changed everything. It killed small businesses, it changed how service businesses staffed their restaurants, stores and hotels, it had an adverse effect on the education of an entire generation of students and it has lowered the credibility of so-called experts in the minds of the population.

It most certainly contributed significantly to the political divisiveness in our country.

    We’re not angry enough.

  2. It killed Mrs. OB’s brother-in-law and his and Mrs. OB’s sister’s daughter. They both had co-morbidities they didn’t manage at all. But still…

Why don’t lefties see China as the unchecked autocratic menace it is? People like Thomas Friedman (whatever happened to Thomas Friedman?) think the U.S. should be more like China, a country run by a benevolent dictator and cadres of experts. All of whom are incompetent. But then, “No Kings!”

      • Ugh. St. Anthony of Fauci.

People seem to like to be led so than act as if they are mindless sycophants. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised it’s a phenomenon common even in the U.S. People seem to want someone else to think for them and tell them what to do and not to do. Fear of the unknown, I guess.

    • “Why don’t lefties see China as the unchecked autocratic menace it is?”

Oh, that’s an easy one. The Left desperately wants the US to BE an unchecked autocratic system “run by a benevolent dictator and cadres of expects” because they are extra-super-certain that THEY will be among those cadres of elites.

China is everything the Left aspires to be.

P.S. I also have every expectation that China is surreptitiously providing aid and support for certain elements of the American Left, and has been for a long time.

      • I believe you’re correct but I think first is profit and second is power. Left, right, republican, democrat it doesn’t matter they all want to make a profit off China. If you don’t believe me just listen to the ag markets and how desperate they are to have China buying. (Big business conservatives) as well as left (financial markets) and both (sports, entertainment, logistics)

    • “Why don’t lefties see China as the unchecked autocratic menace it is?” FINALLY something I can answer but you won’t like it and I bet you already know the answer. Money. Not just the left, but I don’t suppose you care for me to state again that there’s little difference between the political parties with how much they want to profit off China by any means.

  3. I lived through the swine flu pandemic, where there were zero lockdowns.

I asked this question in a comment on Quora.

    https://www.quora.com/What-is-wrong-with-allowing-COVID-19-to-just-run-its-course-I-have-heard-several-people-seriously-discussing-this/answer/Barbara-LeMaster?comment_id=462275226&comment_type=2

So in those other pandemics, the US let people die instead of shutting down the economy.

What do we say to the families of those who died in those earlier pandemics, when the government refused to do lockdowns?

  4. I don’t believe it’s accurate to say “the world-wide disaster was ENTIRELY China’s fault”. “Conspiracy theorists” like me are fairly certain Fauci, via Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, was funding the research into bat corona viruses at The Wuhan institute of Virology that led directly to the Wuhan Virus. Fauci and Daszak get to share the blame with China.

      • Fauci thought that doing what’s known as “gain of function” research would yield substantial benefits in our ability to anticipate and fight viral pandemics. He thought these benefits would outweigh whatever risks there might be in creating deadly viruses in the lab. Others disagreed, and the government had imposed a moratorium on such research in the US.

In order to get around the moratorium, the research was conducted in China, funded indirectly through Daszak’s group.
