Incompetent Elected Official of the Month, Ethics Villain Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Gaza)

We will know that the nation is recuperating from The Great Stupid when voters no longer elect anti-American members of Congress like Tlaib and her fellow infiltrator, Rep. Omar. This week Omar and similarly corrupt Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal chaired a so-called hearing, completely partisan and without balance or dissent, regarding lawful activities of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minnesota and the death of activist Renee Good when she interfered with their efforts, almost running over an agent with her car. Tlaib decided it would be an ideal time to pitch a hissy fit over the image above, Department of Homeland Security recruitment post.

We will have our home again!” the Congresswoman said as she displayed the photo. “What does that evoke in you when you see this? It literally, when I see it, as a Muslima, as a Palestinian, as a child of immigrants, I see that this is something that is evoking like I’m not welcome here.”

Well….

1. She’s supposed to “see it” as an American, not as a group member or interest group representative, and not only an American but as an elected representative whose priority is the welfare and safety of all Americans and the nation itself.

2. Naturally, Tlaib, being wedded to dishonest Democratic Party talking points, uses “immigrants” deceitfully to include illegal immigrants.

3. What is it about that photo that suggests that she’s not welcome? Is she a foreign invader or agent of a hostile adversary? That’s what the bomber in the sky refers to. Is she an illegal border-breacher? I wasn’t aware of that, but if she is, no, Congresswoman, you are not welcome here.

Then Tlaib accused the legend of being intended as a white supremacy “dog-whistle.”” The Federal Government is openly embracing white nationalist online content, she claimed, because one version of the post, made on Instagram, included a song, titled “We’ll Have Our Home Again,” by Pine Tree Riots. “It’s popularized in neo-Nazi spaces,” Tlaib ranted. “The track features lines about reclaiming our home by ‘Blood or sweat,’ language often used in white nationalist calls for a race war.”

Many patriotic songs contain lines that fanatic, hysterical leftists can claim are white supremacy dog whistles, from “This land is my land” to “This is my country.” You know what they say: “If you’re the one hearing the dog whistle, you’re the dog.” “We’ll have our home again” means to me, “With necessary law enforcement, we’ll soon have a nation where women won’t be raped or murdered by unvetted criminals illegally allowed to stay here by the Biden Administration.”

How does Tlaib know that the cowboy isn’t black, or “the child of immigrants?” How does she know the bomber pilot in the graphic isn’t a Muslim?

She doesn’t, of course. Hers is the epitome of contrived offense. She assumes that the Federal Government is racist and hostile to “people like her” because it suits her political agenda to characterize it that way.

Addendum: So you will have the flavor of this “hearing,” here is Rep. Omar’s introduction to this one sided spectacle:

What we are witnessing right now is unprecedented.

“There is no modern precedent for this level of federal overreach, violence, and lawlessness carried out in the name of immigration enforcement.

“This is not routine enforcement. This is not about public safety. This is not even about immigration. This is about political retribution.

“The president said it himself this week.

“It is increasingly clear that the entire purpose of these actions is to provoke chaos and fear in order to justify invoking the Insurrection Act and expand the president’s ability to reign terror upon American citizens who do not vote for him.

“That is the context in which Renee Nicole Good occurred.

“This administration has unleashed a paramilitary force into our neighborhoods, terrorizing families, escalating enforcement, and now killing a US citizen in our state.

“And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

“Our office has received numerous reports of deeply questionable arrests, individuals detained without explanation, without warrants, without access to counsel, and in many cases, without any discernible lawful basis at all.

“We have heard of agents pushing people because they look Latino or Somali, forcing them into car accidents where they smash windows, cut seatbelts, carry people away.

“Abandoned cars with broken windows have become a normal sight of daily life in the Twin Cities.

“Trump claims Operation Metro Surge is about targeting criminals. The reality is even more disturbing.

“They have deliberately blurred the lines between public safety threats, legal immigration, and U.S. citizens, creating an enforcement campaign so indiscriminate that citizens are being swept up, arrested and carried away to detention facilities.

“In Minnesota, dozens of U.S. citizens have been taken into custody and released hours later.

“We have yet to see charges materialize because in nearly all instances, no federal charges are possible.

“Similarly, this administration has worked to reduce any semblance of due process, sending people out of state specifically to prevent access to legal representation, separating them from their family, counsel, and open removal processes for refugees with no legitimate legal basis.

“This is the behavior of a paramilitary force operating outside the bounds of law.

“This administration has been entirely unresponsive. Families could not locate loved ones. Attorneys cannot find their clients. Members of Congress can’t get answers about where people are being held.

“In North Minneapolis, doors have been battered down without judicial warrants as ICE has conducted door to door operations with guns drawn – actions that are neither legal or precedented.

“People have been indiscriminately shoved in the streets, pushed into oncoming traffic, and nearly hit by buses. Flashbangs, pepper balls, and chemical irritants are used without a second thought.

“This is not the America we want. This is not the Minnesota we deserve and we will fight back.

“Thank you and I look forward to hearing from our witnesses.”
