..this despicable individual, ex-nurse Alexis ‘Lexie’ Lawler.
Lexie was canned by Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital after announcing in a TikTok video, “As a labor and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth-degree tear. I hope that you fucking rip from bow to stern and never shit normally again, you cunt.”
Leavitt, President Trump’s extremely competent paid liar, announced last month that she was expecting her second child. The injury Lawler wished on Leavitt requires immediate surgery and can cause long-term chronic pain. The vicious and hateful post received many “likes” and “loves,” because these are really irredeemable people.
The Daily Mail says that it “led supporters of President Donald Trump to call for her firing.” Wait: wouldn’t all decent people call for the firing of a “labor and delivery nurse” who made such a statement? This is one of those stories I want to shake in the faces of my Trump Deranged Facebook friends. much like Dickens, my late, great Jack Russell Terrier, killing a rat.
What monsters they consort with! What monsters they have become….
A spokesperson for Baptist Health confirmed to that this unprofessional ethics villain is no longer employed at the Boca Raton hospital.
But she does have a professional hairdo!
“The comments made in a social media video by a nurse at one of our facilities do not reflect our values or the standards we expect of healthcare professionals,” the hospital’s spokesperson said. “Following a prompt review, the individual is no longer employed by our health system.”
Please note: these are the kinds of people who polls say will prevail in this year’s elections. Gina?
But there needs to be a a strong, competent, effective response beyond just being afraid.
[Note: I want to apologize to Gina Davis, whose clip from “The Fly” is one of the most frequently used on Ethics Alarms, yet I somehow hadn’t included it in the Hollywood Ethics Clip archive until just now. The number of clips is up to 45. Check it out here.]

My Trump- Deranged sister would argue that there’s no freedom of speech. Despite the fact that they were the first to argue that freedom of speech is only government interference when conservatives complained about being fired or being failed for non-pc speech, they think it’s acceptable to broadcast unprofessional attitudes. But, ya know, when you’re dealing with Nazis, anything goes.
A Facebook friend shared a post from a year ago with Indiana Jones fighting Germans on the tank, reminding everyone that it’s okay to punch Nazis.
“A Facebook friend shared a post from a year ago with Indiana Jones fighting Germans on the tank, reminding everyone that it’s okay to punch Nazis.”
(groans) Oh no, not this shit again…
Isn’t calling a woman “a cunt” the ultimate no no? Not anymore, I guess. And particularly for a woman to do it. I mean, that’s the heart of awful white guy misogynist territory, right? Talk about coarsening the culture. I guess it’s Trump’s fault.
Don’t you remember Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a “dumb twat” to great hilarity? It’s only Democrats you can call “twats” or “cunts”.
Calling a man “a cunt” is much worse.
OB: You are forgetting the underlying rule about who is allowed to use certain words. A woman can call another woman a “cunt”, just as a black person can call another black person a “nigger”. I, and I suppose you, can do neither. It’s the rules.
I guess I was mistaken. I thought “cunt” was simply beyond the pale. More so than “twat.” And I didn’t know a woman can call another woman a cunt. So many rules and exceptions.
Your rules are wrong. A conservative woman cannot use the word cunt. Her usage of that vulgarity is a sign of internalized misogyny. A progressive woman, on the other hand, is permitted to call a conservative woman whatever she likes, with “cunt” being a top tier word, because humina humina.
Also, a conservative man can NEVER call a woman a cunt, but a progressive man can call a conservative woman or a liberal woman who qualifies as a TERF a cunt, among other vulgarities, because humina humina.
Get your rules of polite society in order.
Another example of the left’s desire for a monopoly on everything including what insults you are allowed to use without major consequences. They’d just as soon everybody on the right disappeared.
A comprehensive infographic or flow chart would be helpful.
The flow chart is really quite simple.
You may use any insult for those further right than you, you must check your privilege (sex, skin color, etc.) before insulting those who are as left as you are. You may not speak back to your leftist overseers. To have rights, race as far to the left as you can go.
If my comments are insufficiently obvious sarcasm, here’s the tag to take them as such.
It is so, so confusing. Sheesh. Is there a book of permitted insults I can study to make sure I am insulting correctly?

All I can muster is a massive, “Oh, the irony!” a la “Oh, the humanity!”
I hope they suspend her license, this person does not belong anywhere near patients, her trust is shot. I honestly can’t figure out what goes on in a mind capable of thinking this and then putting it online for the world to see expecting applause. I also don’t know what goes on in the mind of someone who applauds this.
It’s the same thing, I fear, that goes on in the minds of more of the Trump Deranged than we want to admit.
Agreed. Ms. Lawler has a First-Amendment right to free speech, so she can say what she wants. But why would she use that right to say such egregiously awful things, particularly when 1) she’s saying them purely from a politically-partisan position and 2) as a nurse, she knows the devastation just such an incident would cause any woman, never mind Ms. Leavitt.
Social media has destroyed many people’s knowledge of another right – the right to remain silent. Ms. Lawler should have exercised that right first…she’d still have her job today.
Mark Twain, I believe said (and I am paraphrasing), “It is better to leave people thinking you’re an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

I just started wondering if Twain made that statement. My research is inconclusive but there is a similar quote from Proverbs 17:28: “Even a fool, if he stays silent, is thought wise; he who keeps his mouth shut can pass for smart.”
There is a Mexican “proverb” with similar sentiment: “Boca cerra no entra mosca.” It is really more about gossip than saying dumb stuff but I think it still holds true.

There’s another recent story in the news of Brooklyn ER physicians who tried to deny care to some injured undercover cops whom they had mistaken for ICE.
We cannot have medical professionals denying care and/or wishing patients ill based upon known or suspected political affiliation.
“We cannot have medical professionals denying care and/or wishing patients ill based upon known or suspected political affiliation.”
Observing their Hypocritical Oath…?

Times like this, Firefly comes to mind. This is what a medical professional sounds like:
Simon: You’re in a dangerous line of work, Jayne. Odds are you’ll be under my knife again, often. So I want you to understand one thing very clearly: No matter what you do or say or plot, no matter how you come down on us, I will never, ever harm you. You’re on this table, you’re safe… ’cause I’m your medic. And however little we may like or trust each other, we’re on the same crew. Got the same troubles, same enemies, and more than enough of both. Now, we could circle each other and growl, sleep with one eye open, but that thought wearies me. I don’t care what you’ve done, I don’t know what you’re planning on doing, but I’m trusting you. I think you should do the same. ‘Cause I don’t see this working any other way.
And another — this time a CRNA in Richmond.
Today Ronald Reagan’s, “I hope you’re all Republicans,” would not be quite so funny.
