Hoisted By Their Own Petard! You Knew This Would Happen…Why Didn’t They?

That email came just months before Epstein was arrested again, in July 2019, and charged with sex trafficking minors. All of the gifts shown in the documents were coveyed in the years after Epstein was accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl and after he pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution with a minor in 2008.

Now remember, I’ll defend any lawyer to the death (well, metaphorically) who represents a scumbag or criminal, for bad people have a right to legal representation like anyone else. I have vowed to remind critics of such lawyers of lawyers’ Rule of Professional Conduct 1.2 (b), my favorite rule of them all, which states,

(b) A lawyer’s representation of a client, including representation by appointment, does not constitute an endorsement of the client’s political, economic, social or moral views or activities.

But it’s the Democrats who are playing the “guilt by association” game to try to “Get Trump,”, and they can’t have it both ways. Epstein seems to have been more than a Ruemmler client. Emails and text messages released by the Department of Justice show Epstein valued Ruemmler as a sounding board regarding both legal advice and dealing with press reports about his sex crimes. He advised her, too, and clients don’t do that; friends do.

One of their first email exchanges was in September 2014. Epstein advised Ruemmler regarding her potentially taking the job of President Obama’s attorney general. That email exchange included Epstein noting, after Ruemmler made a passing remark about “girls,” “‘[G]irls? [C]areful i will renew an old habit.”

Ha ha! Funny guy.

Ruemmler also appears to have drafted statements on behalf of Epstein that the pedophile intended to provide the media. On March 7, 2019, Epstein texted an associate a “Ruemmler proposal” regarding a statement to the Washington Post. “This is what Kathy suggests we tell [the Post],” he wrote. The statement disputed that Epstein received a “sweetheart deal” in his 2008 sex crime case and stated that he was “subjected to a lengthy, aggressive, and highly unusual federal investigation.” If Epstein wasn’t a client, as Ruemmler claims now, than he was a freind, and Rule 1.2 (b) is no defense.

Meanwhile, there is no evidence whatsoever of Trump having any contact with Epstein after his first indictment in 2009. Ruemmler, however, who worked for O in the White House from 2011 to 2014, was squealing like a teenager over the goodies she was being showered with by the sex trafficker. Funny, she wasn’t his type at all: no braces, well out of high school. I wonder why he was so nice to her? His pal joined Goldman Sachs as a partner in 2020 and was promoted to chief legal officer and general counsel in 2021. Goldman Sachs pays Ruemmler an annual salary of around $25 million.

You can see the emails here, in the Washington Free Beacon’s story. Let’s watch and record which news outlets are open about which prominent Democrats get hoisted by this petard.

  1. Twenty-five million dollars a year at Goldman? Wow, that’s gonna sting when she has to leave to spend more time with her family.
