Thus NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS and NPR , in their coverage of the star-studded funeral, all represented the politicized eulogies of Obama, Biden and Harris as respectful and laudatory; not one of the broadcasts mentioned the three using their time at the podium to attack Trump, who unlike them, knew Jesse Jackson in a relationship of mutual respect.
Also omitted from the coverage: Michelle Obama stayed home, though the funeral was to honor a black civil rights icon and took place in her home city, Chicago. Gee, I wonder why?
To be fair, it should be noted that Bill Clinton, one of the three Presidents who didn’t know Jesse Jackson, did not use his remarks to bash Donald Trump. The Trump Hate at the funeral of a civil rights leader was predictable, of course, since “Trump is a racist” is one of the Big Lies of the Resistance (#4!). This is all the more reason why President Trump should have accepted the invitation he received to attend the funeral, and make those assholes insult him to his face.
Maybe even President Trump didn’t think they would be that crass.
In related news, Obama World made it clear that the President of the United States would not be invited to Obama’s Presidential library opening in June.
If he had gone to the funeral, the narrative would have been “Trump makes Jesse Jackson’s funeral about himself.” Instead, of course, the Democratic politicians and their allies in the news media made Jackson’s funeral about Trump.
Trump should have gone. And, he should have spoken.
He probably would have said nice thing in his hyperbolic fashion (let them fact check his grand statements about Jackson).
That would have made the others look petty.
Or, he would have made it about himself.

SloJo Biden recounted the time he spent in the Birmingham jail, and how he felt being on the balcony with MLK when he was shot. He also reminded the mourners that poor people could be just as dead as white people.
