Unethical Tweet of the Month: Actress Eva Longoria

Longoria tweet

Emilio Vicente, a gay illegal immigrant from Guatemala who is a candidate for  student body president at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is now facing a run-off after receiving 41.08 percent of the vote.

He may or may not have been helped in his quest for the position by the above unsolicited tweet by actress Eva Longoria of “Desperate Housewives” fame. As far as anyone knows, she has absolutely no connection to Vicente or Chapel Hill. However, she knows he will be a “great leader” and is inherently a better candidate and more qualified than opponent Andrew Powell, who has the damning and disqualifying characteristics of being white, straight, law abiding and an American citizen. Vicente, however, is supremely qualified to lead because he is Latino, gay and illegal.

This is pure, undeniable bigotry, but politically correct, left-endorsed bigotry, so Longoria, who was the Democratic Party’s embarrassing 2008 co-campaign chair-–“war on women,” don’t you know—will never be criticized for it by the morally superior progressive establishment,  though her tweet is as indefensible and un-American as it is legalistically stupid.

I am officially declaring war on racist, bigoted, stupid women….like Eva Longoria.

  1. It never fails to amaze me just how… absolutely fucking clueless the ‘progressive’ left is. I mean…. How does anyone justify this under even the lightest of scrutiny? How do you pretend to be intellectually superior, while not holding people who use language like this accountable?

But then I remember: I’m a racist, misogynistic homophobe.

      ***************
Because, as stupid as you think they are, they are that stupid X 100, in reality.

  2. Jack,

At this point a candidate who professes to be a leftist, with the additional platform ideals of: killing all the Jews, raising taxes to 90%, starting war with Canada, Mexico and most of Western Europe, and advocates for the slaughter of America’s puppies and kitties, but happens to be a homosexual woman, whose mother is African, father is Filipino, immigrated here illegally, and is a Muslim, would be wholeheartedly supported by every leftist celebrity and politician on the idea of “Make History! Vote for this person!” (never mind if they suck).

  3. She is a stupid bitch, isn’t she?
Maybe if she spent less time twittering and more time being a wife she would still be married.
    Anyway…her 15 minutes is over.

    • Uh… I’m in complete agreement with the sentiment of the article, but… I think this comment is kind of out of line. Why make this personal? Her total wrongness has nothing to do with her career or her divorce.

      • Agreed Jeff…especially since her tweet is also as good an example of res ipsa loquitur as we are likely to see in our lifetimes…there is no innocent or benign way to interpret it, and it wouldn’t matter who or what the author was. I hate playing this game, but imagine what would befall a Hollywood star who tweeted that NC students should vote for the other guy because he’s male, straight, white, and Anglo-Saxon Protestant. the actor would be making midnight infomercials with Mel Gibson and Michael Richards.

        *******
Stupid, racist people make me angry.
        Very angry.

        • Micheal Richards has apologized re: his dumb remarks over reportedly being heckled and dealing with a loud group of Blacks at the Laugh Factory. I suggest you look into the matter and think over whether calling somebody a racist after one incident. Or should he wear a scarlet letter for the rest of his life?
