“I would hate to give birth to someone that looks like me, and then, knowing that they’re gonna be hunted or killed.”
—-Black comic and actress Tiffany Haddish, explaining why she hasn’t had children.
Haddish made this astounding statement in an interview with Carmelo Anthony on his YouTube show, “What’s In Your Glass?”, as she explained why she joined a Black Lives Matter protest.
“I’m a little older now and people are always like, “You gonna have some babies? When are you gonna have some babies? You gonna drop some babies?'” she babbled. “There’s a part of me that would like to do that, and I always make up these excuses like, ‘Oh, I need a million dollars in the bank before I do that, I need this, I need that.”
Then after an explanation that indicates that Haddish thinks she is living in the days of the Underground Railroad and her children would be pursued through the swamps by bloodhounds, like Eliza in “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” she asked, “Like, why would I put someone through that?”
“And white people don’t have to think about that. It’s time to talk about that, and how we have to come together as a community and work as a unit. Maybe we don’t all agree on the same things, but we need to just find some common ground and move forward as human beings not as like, you know,” she concluded, making no sense whatsoever.
I’m not sure which is the greater villain here, a celebrity like Haddish who believes utter, non-factual slander about police, or the odious liars who spread such poison to terrify and divide. On one hand, there is no excuse for any relatively functional adult to believe a ludicrous myth like “Police hunt and kill black people.” In the interview, Haddish cites the fact that she knew two blacks who were killed by police. Oh! That proves it then! Celebrities do real damage by spouting off on issues and matters they know nothing about because so many people think that being a celebrity means you have special virtue, wisdom or intelligence. As a consequence, celebrities have an ethical obligation to either speak responsibly or shut up. (Yes, this principle applies to Presidents of the United States.)
On the other hand, a lot of politicians, reporters and activists have encouraged apparently dim-witted, paranoid, ignorant people like Haddish to believe they live in a pre-abolishionist Hell—all the better to play perpetual victim. The canard that George Zimmerman was “hunting” Trayvon Martin was sold hard by Martin’s family, members of the Congressional Black Caucus, MSNBC and other news outlets; of course, Zimmerman wasn’t the police , but he was white. Well, a “white Hispanic.” Except he wasn’t “hunting” anyone. Never mind: close enough.
Like, you know, as Tiffany would say.
A statement like the one Haddish made is unforgivable no matter how it comes to be made It is in the same category as saying that police are cannibals and eat blacks, or that they collect bounties for black skins. For her to append a call to work together as a community after calling those in the law enforcement profession monsters shows how confused she is, and how unqualified to participate in serious public discourse regarding anything.
Nobody’s going to hunt your children, Tiffany. Now go back to trying to be funny.

The United States invented slave-catchers right after it invented slavery. The slave-catchers turned into the police. Please try to keep up on revisionist history! Big Brother doesn’t WANT to be angry with you.
Well the US Marshalls service certainly is.
When someone pushes the narrative of being “hunted”, is it not some backdoor way of saying “I’m more special than the next person”? Is it not a way of “other-ising” your own damn self? Seriously, Tiffany, you might be occasionally funny. You, and any future offspring, are in no way special.
You know what? Even Jews continued to have babies during the 30’s and 40’s. And they actually were being hunted.
This is the kind of rhetoric that teaches young black males to fear and resist police.
Running suggests wrong doing and even if new police training prohibited foot chases it would take about thirty seconds to figure out all you need to do is run and no criminals would ever be caught.
The other line about black men must resist or they will be killed is just setting them up for a catastrophic ending.
I am beginning to wonder if there is a diabolical plan to get black makes to create the conditions for self eradication which allows minority women to continue to claim victim status.
Makes as much sense as any other explanation.
