There’s the “shocked face” of the once popular commercial featuring a talkative and opinionated infant. (The kid must be 40 by now, but his expression is immortal.)
Yet another Big Lie that the Axis of Unethical Conduct (“the resistance”/ Democrats/ Mainstream media) wielded shamefully for a disgusting amount of time is tumbling down. From Reuters:
“The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials. Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations. “Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases,” said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. “Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages.”
In short, it was another riot by a mob of assholes, one that spilled into the Capitol because of mass incompetence and lack of coordination by the Capitol police. Crimes were committed, people were hurt, one rioter died and there was property damage, but cynical, ruthless partisans exploited the incident for political gain, and also to damage the Constitution with what Prof. Turley neatly termed a “snap impeachment.” Lacking evidence, law or logic, Democrats used the riots to do all they could to damage the reputation of Donald Trump even as he was leaving office, to try to ensure that he would not trouble them again Even after the impeachment failed in the Senate, as it should have, Democrats, NeverTrumpers and pundits continued to use “insurrection” to describe what happened, a Big Lie just as unethical as the claim that a Capitol police officer died of injuries sustained in the riot.
The findings, assuming Reuters reports are accurate, make Nancy Pelosi’s kangaroo House investigation into the event look even more rigged and superfluous than before, which I would have thought was impossible. It is also important that the ultimate “BS!” verdict on the “insurrection” narrative and the linked phony impeachment not be taken as an exoneration of President Trump for being irresponsible and unpresidential leading up to the sixth and after.
He had every reason to be angry and frustrated with the results of the election, and as I have written here before, several factors “stole” the election from him. One was the bad luck of the pandemic being allowed to wreck his economy. A major factor was the four-year long effort by the news media to press its fist on the scales against him, culminating it their burying the Hunter Biden laptop revelations. None of the factors taken alone or collectively, however, not justify Trump asserting that the vote tallies were decisively rigged without clear and convincing evidence, or making the absurd claim that he “won in a landslide.” That was dangerous, and something no President should do (or has ever done), though it is not a “high crime or misdemeanor.” It was Trump being an asshole, as he has been more or less continuously for 50 years, and it wasn’t surprising that he triggered other assholes.
I have pointed out that calling the January 6 riot an “insurrection” is a tell, a self-identification by biased, truth-twisting hacks. That was true before any FBI findings; it will just be more clear once they are official.
Just remember Jack, it’s only an insurrection when one side does it. When the other side does it, it’s a mostly peaceful and justified protest.
Oh, what a load of the brown stinky stuff calling this an insurrection is. Time and again I remember writing during the summer of 2020 that the president would have been fully justified under the insurrection act to use the military to quell the ridiculous riots. Most of the left-leaning people I knew said that would be an act of tyranny and treason. I’ve said again and again that if double standards didn’t exist, the left would have no standards at all. This is one glaring example.
I doubt Nan will be deterred from continuing her alleged Congressional Insurrection investigation. Now more than ever they need to generate as much distraction as they possibly can.
Those E-Trade baby commercials are hilarious. I doubt they’re in their forties yet, maybe late teens, but they had the voices and attitudes of thirty-something know it all day traders. Hilarious. Really clever.

I think this a funny satire of the e trade baby commercials. A little levity never hurts.
When you get a bunch of losers and assorted wackjobs deciding on their own to break into the Capital so they can have their 15 minutes of fame you lie about the purpose of their stupid sophomoric riot by labeling it an insurrection. Of course the more you repeat a lie, the more likely your are to get the gullible public to believe it.
The findings, assuming Reuters reports are accurate, make Nancy Pelosi’s kangaroo House investigation into the event look even more rigged and superfluous than before, which I would have thought was impossible.
This actually raises the FBI in my esteem microscopically. Although this should’ve come out much sooner, and the actions of federal prosecutors has been reprehensible in the way they’ve tried to prosecute the offenders, this report gives me some hope that the FBI is not completely lost. Standing athwart this judgment is their behavior during the Trump administration, however.
I suppose an argument could be made that now that Trump is safely an ordinary citizen, they don’t need to use the extraordinary deception tactics employed by at least the FBI leadership to undermine and damage Trump. Even if that’s true, it says a lot more bad than good about the FBI. But still, getting the truth when it hurts Democrats some of the time is better than never.
I expect Pelosi and her gang of Trump-haters to try to tell us the FBI is wrong, and that they have proof, over and over and over again until they issue a “damning” report that acknowledges the FBI were right all along, but Trump is so evil he must be disqualified from office anyway and produce some legal argument to that effect. The Mueller report is probably their model, ambiguous enough to serve their purposes without ignoring reality altogether.
Really, that’s what this is about — making as strong an argument as possible for some process to forbid Trump from running again. They will not be deterred in this holy cause by something as easily overcome as facts, which have become totally fungible these days.
I would be interested to learn if the FBI even investigated those riots where pallets of bricks were pre-positioned and whi privided all those wonderful frozen bottles of water. I find it difficult to believe all those rioters all thought to bring their own frozen water bottles.
If Chris Wray thought it necessary to conduct an investigation of the events of January 6 someone should ask him why he has not investigated the organizing of the 3 day siege of the Whitehouse that inflicted numerous injuries to Park police and uniformed security forces at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
