No, No, NO, Biden Must NOT “Go”: Biden Must Stay, And All Responsible For Putting Him In The White House Must Be Made Accountable

Joe confused

Over at the Spectator, conservative pundit Dominic Green writes in a piece titled Biden Must Go,

“If Trump had confused his Vice President with a ‘general’ or fumbled with his cue cards because he couldn’t match a scripted question to a scripted answer, as Biden did at his press conference on Thursday; or shown the bizarre callousness and failure of short-term memory in his ‘That was four days ago, five days ago!’ outburst; or spontaneously abandoned the policy of strategic ambiguity on Taiwan in an interview with ABC, as Biden did with George Stephanopoulos on Thursday, the psychiatrists would be lining up outside the cable stations to explain why the 25th Amendment needed to be deployed now. It’s that simple. The buck really does stop with the President. The world has always seen Biden’s incapacity, and now the American people can see it too. He carries direct responsibility for a disaster so undeniable that even a partisan media can no longer deny it. He can neither speak truthfully nor accurately. Not so much the emperor with no clothes, as Lear’s fool on the heath, naked and shivering as the kingdom comes to the ‘great confusion’.”

Oh no you don’t! “The resistance,” progressives, Democrats and the news media can’t be let off that easy. It is essential to restoring the nation’s principles and the integrity of the political process that Joe Biden remain in office to do all the damage and inflict all the embarrassment on the nation he will undoubtedly can and will. It will be painful for him to be sure: good. He was irresponsible and unethical to allow himself to be used by his party when he knew—and I’m sure he knows—that he had become a shadow of his already mediocre self. It will be even more painful for his party and its supporters, which will not be able to blame anyone but themselves for the disaster at the border, the stuttering response to the latest virus strains, the exploding national debt, the creeping inflation and the disgraceful embrace of racial discrimination. And, of course, it will be painful for the public, and again I say, good. They were dupes, fools and incompetent citizens. They deserve to suffer. There are consequences to being lazy, gullible, biased and stupid. They are about to learn them. Hard. The Democrats and media tried to brainwash America with the dangerous idea that when we elect a President that enough people don’t like and the news media decides to destroy, there are constitutional ways to ignore elections and get rid of him. There are not. Impeachment, contrary to the undemocratic plots endorsed by Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters and the rest, requires actual “high crimes and misdemeanors,” not mean tweets, contrived violations of dead letter provisions and conduct routinely engaged in by other Presidents that are suddenly repurposed into “crimes” to avoid the trouble of defeating an incumbent at the polls.

As for the 25th Amendment, the various theories of why it could be used to remove Trump only demonstrated how far the transformation of the American Left into Soviet totalitarians has progressed. Anyone who doesn’t agree with the Left must be “crazy,” you see. The legislative history of the amendment as well as the history of the Presidency makes it mountain spring clear that 25 exists to deal with an actual, undeniable disability that prevents a President from functioning at all, and not, as “the resistance” would prefer, the partisan problem of a President who doesn’t behave, act or tweets as his critics wish he would. The template is Woodrow Wilson after his crippling stroke. If we allow the 25th to be used as a tool to remove a President who is merely weak, old, cantankerous, or not what he once was, then it becomes a threat to our elections and the public trust.

Moreover, there is nothing about Joe Biden’s behavior and evident abilities that was not fully in evidence for all to see before he was even nominated for President. His sole qualifications were, first, that despite his shocking decline since 2016 he did not seem to be spectacularly unqualified, an anti-American radical, a socialist nut or intrinsically dislikable like literally all of the other candidates the Democrats had seeking the nomination; and second, that he had the best chance of beating President Trump. That is the epitome of a “low bar,” and Biden barely cleared it.

For Vice-President, the party inflicted on Biden an even lower bar—no mean feat. His running mate just had to be a black (or sort-of black) woman, and that was it. The fact that the party has no qualified black women who have any business being VP was simply ignored, sticking us with the objectionable and incompetent Kamala Harris. Was the plan really to avoid the problem of winning an election to install a female President of color using the 25th Amendment scam? If so, the Democrats must not get away with debasing our system and defrauding the public so cynically and ruthlessly…and to what end? Is Kamala Harris on the best day or her life more competent or trustworthy than a mentally-challenged Joe Biden?

The nation will survive the incompetence and humiliation of a Biden Presidency, especially if the mid-term elections remove Democratic control of Congress. Despite all of the jeremiads, the USA is too strong for one atrocious President to wreck, not even after more than two decades of flawed leaders before him. Maybe one really terrible experience will convince voters to pay attention, and teach both parties that their duty is not to win elections, but to win them with competent and trustworthy leaders.

We should not let Democrats off the hook, and allow them to escape a disaster of their own making. We should let ourselves off the hook either.

No, Joe has to stay.

  1. I think the 25th is applicable. I think we know enough about Alzheimers and dementia that physicians could in fact determine Joe is unable to discharge his duties as president and needs to be replaced. He’s not just cranky, he’s demented. Demented people are simply not competent. He’s certainly incapable of assisting in his defense. I think having Harris installed as president would be extremely fitting. She’s an idiot but she’s not demented.

    • People with dementia and Altzheimers in their early stages can managage quite well. They’re not disabled, they just can’t do a very good job. I see no indication that Joe is any worse than he was a year ago.

      • Maybe you don’t see it because they won’t let you.

He does not answer questions on the fly.

He was practically hidden during the campaign.

He can’t be a leader if he is being hidden.

        • I assume what we are allowed to see is just the tip of a very large iceberg of incapacity. Everything he says and does is highly scripted. And he can barely pull that off. The leader of the free world says “I’ll get in trouble if I do that,” or “they’ll be mad at me.”

      • This is telling: Secretary of State Antony Blinken was asked by Chris Wallace whether the president understands what’s going on. Blinken’s answer wasn’t even the requisite lie, “Of course he does!”, but rather a dodge of “This is an incredibly emotional time for many of us.”

    • I don’t think the 25th is applicable at this time. If Biden consents to being seen by a psychologist or two and they determine that he probably isn’t fit to lead, then probably. But until then, speculating that Biden is too mentally degraded to be president is no better than the Democrats chosen doctors diagnosing Trump from afar to give credence to their 25th Amendment arguments.

  2. I agree. We need to keep the focus on the myriad bad policy decisions he has made. Those decisions need to define him and the entire administration including the Joint Chiefs. If we (meaning those of us who want America to stand four square above the rest) let him fade out of the public consciousness via any method if removal we will fail the future generations who will bear the lion’s share of the costs of this disastrous presidency. We need to see that the value of the lessons learned are nit squandered by another ill-conceived withdrawal.

  3. As a variation on Mencken, the Dems (and their allies) knew what they wanted and they deserve to get it good and hard.

  4. I’d say target Harris first, try to force her to resign, THEN go after Joe before he can appoint a new VP. As the 2008 election approached and it became obvious which way it was going to go some on the left talked about outlawing the GOP because of GWB’s actions in office. I think at this point maybe we might want to look at outlawing the Democratic Party as an existential threat.

  5. It’s really an awful choice whether or not to start impeachment proceedings and let Kamala Harris serve out his term. Biden’s actions on immigration policy and pulling out troops from Afghanistan have made the USA weak and the World a much more dangerous place. Jimmy Carter at his worst at least tried to preserve some degree of American prestige. I suppose the best we can hope for is a massive landslide putting Republicans in control of the House and Senate and make Biden the lamest of lame ducks. Override every veto he attempts following the 2020 election and challenge all executive action orders he attempts.

    • Impeachment? Biden has not done anything remotely impeachable except by the Democratic Party’s unconstitutional Trump standard. being stupid and incompetent isn’t impeachable. Evne lying isn’t impeachable. Wash your mouth out with soap!

      • I didn’t say that I was advocating impeachment for Biden although he is clearly unfit for office and may be more mentally impaired than you think. Au contraire, the best course of option is to actively pursue making the Democratic Party a minority in the House and Senate.

        • Because of the Trump assault, I have to keep this front and center: “Unfit” is not disabled, nor is it a high crime or misdemeanor. I’d estimate that 15-20 Presidents have been “unfit” by some measurement.

          • His failure to discharge his sworn duties could be considered “a high crime or misdemeanor,” although it does not fit the constitutional definition of treason.

          • He has been the worst by far. If he passes a mental status exam which I’m sure his handlers would never let him take I’d be surprised.

            • Ooh, I’m not so sure, Wayne. Andrew Jackson had psycopathic tendencies. Lincoln had untreated depression episodes that incapacitated him for hours, even days at a time. Franklin Pierce was depressed and alcoholic. Teddy Roosevelt was probably clinically insane. Wilson, or course, wins the gold, but FDR in is last term was barely functioning. JFK was an addict. Reagan was obviously diminished after he was shot.

  6. I soooo want to post this article on Facebook, but I’d probably be unfriended by too many people. You hit it out of the park here.

Too right. No easy way out. “We, the people” elected Joe Biden, and now we get to suffer the consequences of our actions. If his administration runs the country into the ground, then so be it.

And, of course, it will be painful for the public, and again I say, good. They were dupes, fools and incompetent citizens.

Again, absolutely right. If we can’t be bothered to figure out why we are voting for somebody, or we deny the evidence of our own eyes because of bias or ignorance, that’s on us. We owe it to those who came before this to put on our big boy/girl pants and own our mistakes, and have the wages of our pathetic collective citizenship and insensate partisanship paid in full measure.

If we allow the 25th to be used as a tool to remove a President who is merely weak, old, cantankerous, or not what he once was, then it becomes a threat to our elections and the public trust.

True, but there’s a problem. That’s 100% in control of the Democrats, and as such, subject to manipulation. I do believe that if it gets bad enough, they will remove Biden and install Harris as president. They don’t believe they should have to live with the mistakes they created.

Was the plan really to avoid the problem of winning an election to install a female President of color using the 25th Amendment scam? If so, the Democrats must not get away with debasing our system and defrauding the public so cynically and ruthlessly…and to what end?

Must not? Heh. They control the entire government, at least to the extent the 25th Amendment is concerned. Holding them accountable is a joke — remember how we got here?

We should not let Democrats off the hook, and allow them to escape a disaster of their own making. We should let ourselves off the hook either.

    Yep.

    • I find it very interesting the the Good Doctor Jill Biden has become invisible. I think they used to use her as a prop to show what an adorable couple they were supposed to be when in fact she was there to guide Joe around and make sure he didn’t get lost. I wonder if they’ve taken a prop (Dr. Jill) away from Joe to make him look strong, or to have him really stumble, literally and figuratively. In any event, her being invisible is striking. And Dems are all about optics.

  8. Yes, Biden is incapable of making coherent decisions. Why is that news? Biden has made a career out of making bad and stupid decisions. Now, we’re supposed to be surprised and alarmed? Please.

Who thinks Biden is running the show anyway? His advisors, most of whom are Obama Team operatchiks, are ruining things. They tell him what to say and hope he does not bungle it too badly. They also know Harris will do what she is told, too.

I wonder why they shipped her off to Asia at this crucial point. I am not a tinfoil hat conspiracy kinda guy but it seems strange that the border is a wreck, Afghanistan is in smoldering ruins, the economy is terrifying and the country is going back into lock down. So, an important time and they send her away to do . . . what, exactly? As far away as possible to avoid the shrapnel?

  9. DementiaJo is propped up with medication and every time he goes into hiding (basement/campdavid) his docs are titrating his dosage for the next public appearance but this strategy is only a band aid for a chronic progressive deteriorating condition.

As an aside; George Stephanopoulos is *under equipped* to interview openbordersjo

  10. You’re right, it’s over a year to the midterms, so too early to do things that would help the dems out of the hole Joe’s digging for them. They and their media allies would like nothing better than as much time as possible to bury Joe’s mistakes “in the past”, and distract the public with revisionist spin until they forget, rationalize, and “mis-remember” much of the reality of the situation.

  11. Perhaps we should consider impeaching Merrick Garland. The headline in the Washington Examiner today (Aug 23) reads: Biden Administration Silent Amnesty. Apparently the DOJ has suspended prosecution of ALL deportation cases. Garland’s job is to enforce the laws of the land and not serve to enforce only those that the Administration wants enforced.
