That’s veteran NeverTrump blogger Jonah Goldberg, who was so eager to declare the newly-elected, pro-Trump Republican Virginia governor incompetent that he didn’t bother to check whether Youngkin had taken office yet. In fact, the current, soon to be ex- Democratic Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, is responsible for the fact that nothing was done to help the thousands of motorists trapped on I-95 in Northern Virginia in freezing weather for up to 24 hours. He’s catching hell for it, too.
Does anyone think Goldberg would have mentioned the I-95 fiasco if he realized Northam was still in charge, and not seeking a quick cheap shot at the Republican who annoyed the Trump Deranged by upsetting Clinton bag man Terry McAuliffe while refusing to disavow Donald Trump’s support?
Jonah Goldberg, founder of National Review online, is certainly no progressive, unless this is a different Jonah Goldberg. Since it mentions the Dispatch, I don’t think it is. BTW, I don’t think Northam gives a rats ass about the state or its people at this point.
He’s a NeverTrump fanatic, and has supported the progressive rot the past 5 years, but I’ll fix that for you.
Thanks, by the way. This is embarrassing, but I always get Jonah Goldberg mixed up with Josh Marshall, who IS a progressive.
It seem like this is a perfect time to pull this out of the archives…
So, what on earth did happen on I-95? Okay, so they most likely don’t have snowplows in coastal Virginia. But surely, they have construction equipment: loaders, graders, anything with a blade on it that can push snow. And surely, they have heavy duty tow trucks to clear wrecks on a major interstate highway. What the hell took so long?
From what I heard, a crash involving about 6 semi trucks due to the ice stopped the parking lot styled traffic that already existed, and it made it damn near impossible to get anything through to clear out the mess. In one video, I saw a large intestate highway style snow plow stuck in the middle of the backed up traffic.
Traffic is always a mess in the DC vicinity; the inner loop, the outer loop and the main arteries in and out of DC are absolutely nuts, I hate driving in the DC area. I’m glad the Metrorail works pretty well for most of my needs when I’m in the area, otherwise my brother who lives in the vicinity is a really handy navigator for planning.
But Steve. A day to get even a single lane open? traffic was stopped both ways? It’s just incomprehensible.
Don’t get me wrong OB, I’m not trying to justify or rationalize the length of time that it took in any way, I just stated what I heard/read and saw on the news.
If this is genuine, it is really stupid.

That link doesn’t seem to work.
It is a tweet from Rosemary Potter.
See if this works:
The nutshell is she complains about Youngkin. When it is pointed out Northam is Governor, she praises Northam.
Then, follows up with this:
Youngkin is a billionaire, he can get people together on his own to help clear the highway.

It worse than that. I was actually going to use this one. She actually then praises Northam for ‘the work that is being done.’
Why are Dems so snotty and condescending?
Other Bill asked, “Why are Dems so snotty and condescending?”
Why does anyone do the things they’re exceptionally good at going? 😉
HA!!! Should could proof read that one.
“Why does anyone do the things they’re exceptionally good at doing?
HA, HA, HA!!!
I’m on a stupid typing and no proof reading ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see Rosemary Potter is a pol from Wisconsin! Surprising.
Wouldn’t be surprising at all, we have some real “winners” in the Madison and Milwaukee area.
Having perused the “Rosemary Potter” twitter account, I can’t help but get that the account is a burner account meant entirely to elicit anger and throw bombs.
Her clearly obvious switcheroo regarding the handling of the I-95 fiasco makes sense in that light.
A hit-n-run internet troll.
