Incompetent Headline Of The Week: “Report: Joe Biden Realized His Mistake With Kamala Harris Very Early On” (Red State)

I’m sorry, but I can’t resist.

What’s “early” is a case like this? Anyone who watched and listened to and watched Harris during the Democratic Presidential debates could tell in an instant that she was a dolt, and obviously unqualified to run for President or be one, which means she has no business running for or being Vice-President either. The headline is the equivalent of “Early on as he attempted to shave using his power mower, he realized his mistake.”

What are we supposed to conclude from that statement? Admiration for Joe that he was so quick to pick up on what was wrong with his entirely race and gender-based pick for a running mate? That’s not quick. Someone who is competent, has good judgment and knows which end of the trumpet to blow on doesn’t make an epic mistake like picking Harris to be a heartbeat from the Oval Office.

I saw this story and couldn’t restrain myself.

Carry on…

  1. I actually think President Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris – ok, so it probably wasn’t strictly his choice any more than it’s his choice of which flavor of Jell-O he has for lunch, but let’s assume it was his choice – was probably the most astute thing he’s done in his political career. Selecting someone as intolerably “boring and uncool” as Harris goes a long ways in preventing impeachment or the application of the 25th Amendment.

Clearly President Biden appears to be completely incompetent as Commander-in-Chief, but there’s no “appearance” of it with VP Harris.

    Well played, President Biden…well played.

    • I also noticed what you did, as in:-

… obviously unqualified to run for President or be one, which means she has no business running for or being Vice-President either.

On the contrary, the former thoroughly qualifies her for the latter by making her a “poison pill” – an option to discourage undercutting whoever or whatever she would replace. Some have suggested that this was Spiro Agnew’s main qualification for the same role.

… Someone who is competent, has good judgment [emphasis added] and knows which end of the trumpet to blow on doesn’t make an epic mistake like picking Harris to be a heartbeat from the Oval Office.

      See above.

  2. Red State better look out. They might be under the same policy as social media companies. Harris said this week “So, what I would say about any social media site is this: I fully expect and would require that leaders in that sector cooperate and work with us who are concerned about national security, concerned about upholding and protecting our democracy, to do everything in their power to ensure that there is not a manipulation that is allowed or overlooked that is done with the intention of upending the security of our democracy and our nation.”

You will be required to work with them. From the lack of outrage from the legacy media about this statement, I can assume they are already on board.

  3. Anne Althouse has an interesting take on the article:

    https://althouse.blogspot.com/2022/12/in-first-months-of-his-presidency-joe.html

Althouse seems to think that the Oba . . . erm . . . O’Biide . . . uh . . . Biden Administration did her a disservice by not giving her anything meaty to handle, unlike easy problems (e.g., border security and immigration matters). The responses/comments are enlightening, too. They echo Joel’s impeachment proof strategy.
