Here is Steve Witherspoon’s Comment of the Day on the post, Regarding Tucker Carlson’s Newly Revealed J6 Surveillance Videos:
***
Personally I don’t care who the video evidence was released to as long as it is released to the public in a responsible manner. I’m not a big fan of Carlson’s tactics but he’s the one who now has all the video. We can’t do a damn thing to change that fact so, so be it. He had better take this responsibility to the people of the United States very seriously.
The government and the political left has had an absolute monopoly on the evidence to support their narrative since January 6th, 2021. It may be the tit-for-tat rationalization, but it’s fair political gamesmanship for an opposing narrative to be presented (using the video evidence) that completely contradicts the narrative that has been pushed by the political left.
Jonathan Turley has a blog post out this morning about the QAnon Shaman, The Curious Story of QAnon Shaman: Fox Footage Raises New Questions Over the Chansley Case.
In the midst of all the internet trolls commenting on Turley’s site, I wrote,
Jonathan Turley wrote, “…making Chansley [an out-of-work actor] an example because he was the most visible is dangerously detached from his underlying conduct.”, “In the end, justice has to remain blind. In this case, that means focusing on the crime rather than the costume.”
We prosecute and convict on criminal actions NOT visibility.
I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone that engaged in violent acts against the Capitol Police or engaged in vandalism of the United States Capitol building on Jan 6th; however, anyone that’s willing to watch the video has seen actual undeniable video evidence that Chansley was simply trespassing in the Capitol and he was railroaded by a politically motivated prosecution that clearly withheld relevant evidence that contradicted the prosecutions narrative against Chansley. Chansley, an out-of-work actor, chose a national stage to display his talents and exposure he got, it worked in the short run; however, in the long run the consequences of his actions were that he put himself in a position to be used as political pawn.
I have been saying for quite a while now…
“The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times since 2016 that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left and their lapdog media actively push?”
Based on the narrative I had been hearing from the political left, I suspected that Chansley was likely only guilty of misdemeanor trespass. Regardless of him pleading guilty to a massive government system that was hell-bent on his personal destruction for political reasons, I think the video proves beyond reasonable doubt that he was unjustly prosecuted for the crimes he was accused of. Chansley may be a genuine P.O.S. (I really don’t know), but this kind of transparent politically motivated corrupted prosecution cannot stand in the United States of America.
His conviction should be thrown out and he should be awarded a new trial. This would be a really good case for a prominent Democrat, who is a supporter of the United States Constitution and a defense trial lawyer; someone like Alan Dershowitz.
After seeing the video evidence, I honestly think that the government intentionally withheld relevant evidence that contradicted their narrative against Chansley.
Thanks and thanks for fixing stuff.
Well done Steve
Well said, Steve! I hope some prominent pols will push for reviews of these prosecutions now, (and a grand jury for Michael Byrd). We know Mitch won’t; I’m writing my guy (Loudermilk) now that he’s been cleared of the false narrative against him.
“The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times since 2016 that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left and their lapdog media actively push?”
Oh, and hasn’t it been so utterly nauseating to hear the Left-stream media howling about cherry-picking and despicable tactics? I wonder if their stomachs are churning when they’re doing this, or they’ve adapted to being such shameless hucksters?
The left and the media are incapable of feeling shame. They are just a different form of sociopath. They are half arrogant 14 year old with a smug, you can’t touch me smirk on their faces, and half tantruming 2 year old, who want what they want when they want it on pain of them screaming and destroying things. I’ve talked a few times about how possibly it’s time for the right to start using the same tactics against the left. Now that some on the right are talking about using some of these dirty voting tactics and beating the left of their own game, I think it’s time that we start using some of the other tactics too. Anyone want to form a Home Guard to start beating up or killing antifa wherever we find them? There is nothing more satisfying as an adult been seeing that smug smirk on a 14-year-old’s face turn to an expression of pure terror as they hear leather clearing six belt loops and no they are in for it. It would also be pretty satisfying to see those hateful expressions turn to expressions of pure terror as they see people coming who are not coming to arrest them, just coming for THEM.
Nicely done. Unfortunately, at least until things possibly change next year, the government’s attitude is going to be “what are you going to do about it?” It pays to be the king. Meantime, attorneys who threw Molotov cocktails at police cars get a slap on the wrist. However, professional anarchist Samantha Shader doesn’t get away so easily, and is going to be locked up for 6 years, which isn’t nothing, although I think given her record she should be locked up for life.
“Chansley was simply trespassing in the Capitol and he was railroaded by a politically motivated prosecution that clearly withheld relevant evidence that contradicted the prosecutions narrative against Chansley.”
And I might add that neither the dogma driven DOJ or the FBI had any interest in uncovering this or any other exculpatory evidence. In fact, I would suggest that assuming they knew of it, have actually suppressed it.
