“When the government and the establishment press just spout the most outlandish lies and excuses, demanding we believe them, it’s much more dangerous and frankly tyrannical than a government and press that subtly or believably lies. When governments and politicians and the media dissimulate reality in this blatant way, it suggests they no longer respect or feel accountable to the populace, and are confident that all pretense to the naked exercise of power can be dropped. They will simply tell you what to believe, what reality is, and you will accept it — no matter what your lying eyes tell you.”
This quote, from “Here’s Why The Media’s Lies About Rep. Jamaal Bowman Should Concern You” by John Daniel Davidson in “The Federalist,” perfectly expresses why I’ve already posted four times previously on this incident with this being the 5th, and a 6th coming right up. The brazen and what would in a normal, ethical environment, stupid actions of Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) in setting off a fire alarm to disrupt a House vote and then lying about it with a risible excuse should have attracted universal condemnation from our supposedly objective and non-partisan news media and even members of Bowman’s own party, it it were not so corrupt. Instead, both have inflicted the equivalent of gaslighting, implying anyone is crazy who does not accept Bowman’s claim that he pulled a fire alarm because he thought it would open a door.
Davidson introduces his essay by referencing this famous photograph sequence,
in which the USSR media simply erased the existence of Nikolai Yezhov, Stalin’s secret police official responsible for mass arrests, torture, and executions in the Soviet Union who himself fell out of favor with Stalin and was “disappeared.” (I struggled with whether to use that or “The Naked Gun” clip from the Ethics Alarms clip archive, and finally decided that I needed to laugh to keep from screaming…). It’s an apt comparison. Yet the current theme of the Democrats is that the nation must be rescued from the threat to democracy posed by Donald Trump, even as that party is emulating totalitarian regimes.
More from the essay (do read the whole thing):
In the aftermath of the evacuation, Bowman insisted it was an accident — not that he pulled the alarm by accident, since the video footage clearly shows him doing so intentionally, but that he didn’t know what would happen when he pulled it….
Bowman’s claim is that he thought pulling the fire alarm would open the door. That sounds like an outlandish lie, doesn’t it? The sort of patently false thing no one in his right mind would ever believe or even try to explain. Just a bone-crushingly idiotic fiction that requires us to believe Bowman is mentally ill or psychotic. Every single person in Washington knows it’s not true. And yet, every single Democrat and the entire corporate news media immediately responded as if it were a reasonable and acceptable explanation for Bowman’s actions, like of course he didn’t know what would happen when he pulled the alarm. He thought it would open the door, OK? How many of us have encountered a locked door and immediately pulled the nearest fire alarm? Right? The fire alarm going off took him by total surprise!…
Over the last few years of the Biden administration, this sort of thing has become commonplace. Democrats, sometimes President Biden himself, will do or say something outrageous and unbelievable, and the press will either ignore it and pretend it didn’t happen or offer an explanation so disconnected from reality that only a total lack of accountability or any respect for their audience can explain it.That’s how you get major media outlets trotting out the line, amid mounting and undeniable evidence of Biden family corruption, that Hunter Biden only sold the “illusion” of access to his father….
Responsible citizens cannot allow this to go unexposed and unpunished. I’m going to do all I can, and I dare any of the woke zombies who have been banned here to enter their best defense of the conduct. I promise I’ll publish it, just so I can ban them again.

Yeah, I think we well and truly crossed that bridge with the TV “journalists” telling us about “mostly peaceful” protests with burning buildings in the background. Then there was talk about “men” giving birth – vaginally. This is just more of the same.
Don’t forget the bloggers and pundits telling us that only 7% of the protests turned violent, so statistically we were okay. I wonder how long things would last with a partner if I was only violent with her 7% of the time. I think that comes out to about 25 times a year. How many partners, I wonder, would tolerate someone getting violent with them 25 times before they would do something about it?
Actually, the answer is probably too many. Let’s not also forget the former mayor of Seattle talking about how the separatist district was simply democracy in action and a Summer of Love, only to reverse herself when an even crazier council member led the protesters literally to her doorstep. Of course if you told them about these things, the left would just tell you that none of them happened and that you must be mistaken. If you refuse to accept that, they would tell you you must be a racist, since who but a racist would have a problem with this?
The thing is that people like the squad are being exposed finally for what they are: idiots. They are like 11 year olds who lie unconvincingly to their parents and are then surprised when their parents don’t buy it. AOC is just the equivalent of one of those antifa thugs and bullies pouting circular logic, except she knows how to wear lipstick. The house should take a vote to expel this idiot once they pick a new speaker. The fact is that he committed a crime in order to disrupt the lawful business in Congress. By the logic of the left he should now be tried and rotten jail for 17 years. But then again, that’s just more proof that we have a two-tiered justice system, one set of rules if you are on one side of the aisle, another set of rules you are on the other side.
