I was prepared to add this nauseating story to Part 2 of the previous post, “Hamas-Israel Ethics Train Wreck Update: Tells, Hypocrites, Liars And A Jumbo” because it came to my attention after Part I was up, and because it made my head explode. Then Obama’s drivil kept me up last night, and upon re-reading Obama’s fatuous, pandering, intellectually indefensible, and, of course, being The Light-Bringer, self-aggrandizing contribution to policy debate pollution and the accelerating ethical deterioration of the Democratic Party, I realized only a stand-alone article would do.

Being interviewed on a podcast (with the retch-response inducing cutesie title “Pod Save America”) run by his adoring ex-staffers —to be fair, maybe all the bowing and misty-eyed mooning disoriented him—the ex-President, currently moving up fast on the rail as the most wildly over-praised President of all, decided to open his trap and pronounce:

“I look at this, and I think back, ‘What could I have done during my presidency to move this forward, as hard as I tried?’ But there’s a part of me that’s still saying, ‘Well, was there something else I could have done?’”

As usual for this narcissist, everything is about him, isn’t it? After all, he’s Barack Obama, and surely he could have resolved a hopeless blood feud on the Palestinian side and a stubborn insistence on survival on the Israeli side that the opposing parties involved have been unable to fix since 1948! It’s all his fault really, Barack acknowledges. He just didn’t focus enough of his super-powers on that problem while he was busy making deals with Iran giving them more money to spread terrorism and a guaranteed future nuclear bomb to wipe Israel out after he’s retired or dead, when it didn’t matter. To him, anyway.

Then Obama sagely noted that “this is century-old stuff that’s coming to the fore.” (Actually, efforts to exterminate Jews are a lot older than a century) and, the New York Times tells us, “blamed social media for amplifying the divisions and reducing a thorny international dispute to what he viewed as sloganeering.”

Yeah, all those tweets and Facebook posts have made the Palestinians want to destroy Israel even more than they’ve declared in their multitudinous “Death to Israel” statements over the past eight decades or so. Good point.

Obama urged his former aides to “take in the whole truth,” reports the Times, “seemingly attempting to strike a balance between the killings on both sides.” That’s important! On one side, a pre-meditated, carefully planned surprise terrorist attack that included taking civilians hostages, raping, defiling corpses and beheading babies, and on the other, the waging of a war intentionally launched by these acts. You know. Balance! More Obama blather:

“What Hamas did was horrific, and there’s no justification for it. And what is also true is that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable.”

What occupation? When Palestinians use the term “occupation,” it means any place where Jews have the audacity to live. Obama’s “truth” includes parroting anti-Israel propaganda and rhetoric. What kind of clarification is the description “unbearable”? “What’s happening” to, say, serial killers serving consecutive life sentences is also unbearable to them, and like the Palestinians, they are responsible for their own fate. This is what an ex-President thinks is useful analysis? This is execrable. In fact, please excuse me for a second, but I have to say, before I quote more O,

ARRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!!

Okay, sorry, I think I’ll be okay now.

“And what is also true is that there is a history of the Jewish people that may be dismissed unless your grandparents or your great-grandparents, or your uncle or your aunt tell you stories about the madness of antisemitism. And what is true is that there are people right now who are dying, who have nothing to do with what Hamas did.”

WHAT? Americans shouldn’t have to rely on their grandparents to tell them about the history of the Jewish people; it is supposed to be taught in our public schools and colleges, except that, in great part thanks to Obama and his pals like Saul Alinsky, those institutions regard Marxist indoctrination, gender confusion and anti-American, anti-white, anti-male, anti-Western civilization bias more crucial areas of study.

And who is dying in this war who has “nothing” to do with what Hamas did? Is Obama talking about my 87-year-old neighbor down the street, who expired last week of emphysema? If you die from the results of warfare in a nation that starts a war, then you absolutely had something “to do” with what your government did.

I am recalling now that President Barack Obama only sounded intelligent when he is speaking from a prepared speech.

Now get ready for a head-explosion:

“Even what I just said, which sounds very persuasive…”

Another scream is riding from my gorge into my mouth…to what kind of idiot would that facile, foolish garbage be persuasive?

….still doesn’t answer the fact of, all right, how do we prevent kids from being killed today? But the problem is that if you are dug in on that, well, the other side is dug in remembering the videos that Hamas took or what they did on the 7th, and they’re dug in, too, which means we will not stop those kids from dying.”

It takes a massive effort and real talent to wrest the “Asshole Ex-President of the Month” title from Donald Trump while he’s waging his own war on judges and law clerks daily, but Barack Obama is up to the challenge. I never should have doubted him. This outburst probably should be left as a throbbing res ipsa loquitur example, but I have to cool down so let me add:

• Once again, a bright spot in this disgusting display of anti-Semitism and historical revisionism by the Left is that maybe, just maybe, some of the more rational Democrats among the insulted public will finally have an epiphany and realize, “Holy Cats! These people are both despicable and deluded! How could I have not seen it before?”
• Obama’s false equivalencies go far, far beyond the careless comment Donald Trump made after the Charlottesville riot that was assailed and mischaracterized by the Get Trump! media for years. Obama actually is putting the nation of Israel and Palestinian terrorists on an equal ethical and moral footing. Well, on the one hand, Israel kept the territory it acquired when it defeated all of the Arab nations that, acting as agents of the Palestinians, attacked it with the goal of wiping it off the map, and on the other, the Palestinians were pretty mean when they beheaded all those Jewish babies…
• Former Presidents, as Ethics Alarms has pointed out repeatedly, are obligated to keep quiet about all national policy issues unless they are actively running to replace the current White House occupant. Dwight Eisenhower didn’t start giving out his opinion about the Cuban Missile Crisis. This intrusion by Obama can only be called “throwing gasoline on the fire.” It does not clarify anything, while confusing and misleading many. It is an egregious abuse of influence.
• In his pompous musings, Obama shows why he was such a wretched POTUS in the foreign policy realm (he was wretched domestically, too, but that’s for another day). He is still in the Vietnam campus protest camp of the Democratic Party: he distrusts the military, believes that war is a matter of moral failings on “both sides,” pitches his analysis on “if it can save one life” rationalizations,  and probably hums “Imagine” to himself as he drifts off the sleep at night. Short version: he’s a fool.
• The Times reporter, Lisa Lerer,  revealed herself to be a blind Obama cultist. She described that junk I quoted above as “a complex analysis of the conflict between Israel and Gaza.” Later she adds—she really does!—“Mr. Obama appeared to acknowledge the limits of his musings about bridging divides and embracing complexity.”

Never mind Obama: that statement tells you all you need to know about the New York Times.
