Is the Biden/Special Prosecutor/Biased MSM Hand-off To Terrify Voters Deliberate?

I don’t think so, because I don’t think they are that smart. But if it is deliberate, I have to admit that it’s pretty slick. Unethical, despicable and dangerous, but slick.

Let’s start with Biden’s speech yesterday, described as his first campaign speech of 2024. The Democrats are really going to do it; they really are going to base their whole campaign on Big Lies (and smaller lies) and fearmongering. Biden’s speech was basically “Soul of the Nation” (aka. “The Reichstag Speech”)II. The first time around, it was already the most irresponsible, unfair, and dangerous speech a President of the U.S. has ever delivered. I wrote that the speech signaled the “complete corruption of the Democratic Party for anyone to see who isn’t in an ethics coma.” That was a correct analysis. Nevertheless, Biden, his party and progressives think it “worked,” so now we’ll be hearing it over and over again.

The speech cites “the soul of the nation” almost immediately. It is riddled with lies, familiar ones, like calling the January 6 rioting an “insurrection” (thus telling the legally ignorant that the Supreme Court should obviously allow Democrats to block Trump from running) and saying “Jill and I attended the funeral of police officers who died as a result of the events of that day.” The Bidens attended exactly one such funeral, and it has been reported over and over again that officer Brian Sicknick died of a stroke days after the riot, and that there was no indication that his death was related to the events of the 6th. The New York Times issued a false story that they had to retract, and Biden has been citing the misinformation for almost four years.

The whole speech is an attack on Donald Trump and his supporters, massaging and distorting Trumps words repeatedly. Of course we got the spin that Trump said “he’d be a dictator on day one.” That’s pure deceit, as we’ve discussed. Biden said: ”He called and I quote, the terminate, quote, this is a quote, the termination of all the rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the U.S. Constitution should be terminated if it fits his will. Even found in the Constitution, he could terminate.” (That’s a “quote,” mind you!) Here’s the actual quote, from one of Trump’s typical rants on Truth Social a year ago:

“Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

It was an especially stupid outburst even for Trump, and it begged to be weaponized by the Democrats, but the post was not an assertion that Trump as President could or would “terminate” the Constitution.

Biden’s whole speech is designed to terrify progressives, the gullible and dimwits. Read it all, if you are stocked up on Pepto Bismol. It is a classic piece of IIPTDXTTNMIAFB ( “Imagine if President Trump did X that the news media is accepting from Biden.”)

Yesterday’s speech came on the heels of special counsel Jack Smith (“The Trump Hunter”) filing his 82-page appellate brief in U.S. vs. Donald Trump, opposing Trump’s lawyers’ (dubious) assertion that the President of the United States has absolute immunity from prosecution for anything he does while President. The Trump theory is unworkable as well as irrational on its face, and Smith, as any lawyer would, had a ball raising nightmare scenarios for the court to ponder:

“…That approach would grant immunity from criminal prosecution to a President who accepts a bribe in exchange for directing a lucrative government contract to the payer; a President who instructs the FBI Director to plant incriminating evidence on a political enemy; a President who orders the National Guard to murder his most prominent critics; or a President who sells nuclear secrets to a foreign adversary, because in each of these scenarios, the President could assert that he was simply executing the laws; or communicating with the Department of Justice; or discharging his powers as Commander-in-Chief; or engaging in foreign diplomacy. Under the defendant’s framework, the Nation would have no recourse to deter a President from inciting his supporters during a State of the Union address to kill opposing lawmakers—thereby hamstringing any impeachment proceeding—to ensure that he remains in office unlawfully. See Blassingame v. Trump, 87 F.4th 1, 21 (D.C. Cir. 2023) (President’s delivery of the State of the Union address is an official act). Such a result would severely undermine the compelling public interest in the rule of law and criminal accountability.”

Now comes the third stage of the hand-off: the propagandists in the news media telling their flock that what the special counsel was really saying was that Trump is a threat to do any of all these things. Here, for example, is The Daily Beast: “Did Donald Trump accept a bribe? Order his FBI director to fake evidence? Tell the National Guard to kill critics? Sell nuclear secrets? Jack Smith is being awfully suggestive.” MSNBC, of course, highlighted the section I posted in the graphic above, and claimed Smith was warning specifically about what Trump would do if elected this time. And, as night follows day, some conservative provocateurs, whose mission is to discredit Smith, claimed the same thing:

I was almost caught: a prosecutor making that claim about a specific defendant would be a formal ethics breach and a clear attempt to poison the jury pool, in my view. But Smith didn’t say Trump would do these things, he wrote that any President could. Meanwhile, the current President made it clear that Trump is an immediate threat to do any and all of them.

If one were conspiracy theory inclined, it could be argued that Smith, the President’s speechwriter, the DNC and the captive news media coordinated the whole sequence to frighten the public. As I said when this post began, I doubt it, but in the end, it doesn’t matter. This will have the same effect whether it was coordinated or not. I’m sure Democrats are thrilled that many will think a federal prosecutor has told a court that a President Trump will tell his followers to kill people.

After all, it might work! And if Biden loses anyway and Americans who believe MSNBC and the other news media participating in the scaremongering against Trump start rioting across the country to stop the impending fascist dictatorship?

The Left is playing with fire, coordinated or not.

  1. As time passes, some of the irresponsible posts from Trump are aging well, or I’m not in my right mind.
Is it possible that Trump’s “terminating” the constitution comment was a claim that ‘if the Democrats are willing to do away with some rules, they’ll eventually find a rationalization to ignore the constitution.’
How many times has Biden ignored SCOTUS decisions? How many times have Democrats (& Republicans) in Congress argued for legislation that is unbound from constitutional limitations due to an “emergency” or that the constitution is outdated and no longer relevant?
If I’m eligible, any evisceration is appreciated.
I know that Trump says wild things and that he’d do well to shut up until he learns some discipline.

    • “Is it possible that Trump’s ‘terminating’ the constitution comment was a claim that ‘if the Democrats are willing to do away with some rules, they’ll eventually find a rationalization to ignore the constitution.’”
That was exactly my take on what Trump was trying, in his typical clumsy and inarticulate way, to say.

    • “I know that Trump says wild things and that he’d do well to shut up until he learns some discipline.”

That would not be a totally bad thing. Trump would be silenced for the rest of his natural life.

  2. Based on my observations…

I don’t think special counsel Jack Smith has the political foresight to come up with this narrative on his own, he was fed the poisonous seeds by someone else. Smith is not independent. Who is Smith talking to?

I firmly believe that almost all of the political left’s propaganda is coordinated from like minded (think democratic socialist totalitarians) think tank sources that coordinate with other think tanks to feed prominent figures with the seeds they need to disburse segments of their propaganda narrative and they do it without a sliver of critically thinking about what’s contained in the seed. This is how the overall narrative can be built segment by segment and the gullible public can swallow it piece by piece. They aren’t passing out specific things to say, they’re planting the cancerous seeds knowing full well that the partisan hacks they are feeding will not critically think about it willfully germinate the seeds. The tentacles of these think tanks are deeply imbedded within the bureaucratic deep state and they have many years of experience influencing those in leadership positions in Washington DC.

“The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left, their lapdog Pravda-USA media, their woke consumed bureaucracy, or their activist supporters actively push?”

There’s my attempt to pull a dark deep state cloud over our Saturday morning in 2024. You can thank me later. 😉

  3. After yesterday’s speech I will vote for Trump simply so I can do my part to make this strategy fail. Biden left me no choice. Biden slandered everyone who does not heel to the progressive agenda.

No one is using fear as a campaign strategy other than Biden. Ironically it is he and his minions or puppet masters I fear.

Don’t let him fool you with his tottering feebleness. He knows exactly what he is doing. It’s all an act which is just another lie.

  4. It’s projection. The left is saying this because if Trump wins somehow they will advocate for mass killings. They already planned as much for 2020, according to their own “simulations”. They’ll start riots in every city, burn, murder, and pillage until they get their way. Count on it.

  5. Deliberate? Maybe. More likely simple groupthink. The really scary part of this is that Trump is just the tip of the iceberg.

The real concerted effort is that a number of other GOP politicians are being attacked in the same way. It’s even been said that every GOP congressman who voted against certifying the election of 2020 should receive the same treatment as they are also insurrectionists. If that doesn’t shake you up, read some of the comments on some of these articles, saying that ALL Republicans should be treated as insurrectionists and barred from public office, and it sounds like the commenters mean it.

The only thing comparable to this in recent history is the Reichstag fire and what followed. At that point the National Socialists barred the Communist Party (which polled 17%) from government, and got away with it, which gave them a majority, then, aided by SA intimidation and trumped-up arrests of other opposition they passed all kinds of tyranny enabling statutes, including, most importantly, the Enabling Act, which gave Hitler the power to rule by decree. In the meantime you had the Nazi press, led by propagandists like Goebbels and out-and-out kooks like Julius Streicher, made sure all these measures got good press and whipped up all kinds of national security-based fearmongering. The rest is history, but, just to show the progress: A year later Germany started to rearm openly and massively and the first wave of anti-Jewish legislation passed. A year after that Germany stripped Jews of their citizenship. A year after that, Chaim Weizmann wrote that Germany was composed of two parts – where Jews could not live and where they could not enter. A year after that the concentration camps expanded massively, and a year after that was Kristallnacht. While all this was going on you had the Anschluss and the taking of the Sudetenland and finally that fateful morning when the German tankers watched their watches tick down to the moment set for the assault on Poland.

While this was all going on, Hitler and his propagandists found fault with and pointed accusing fingers at anyone who dared to oppose them, claiming they were traitors to the Fatherland and candidates for elimination. The populace went right along with it, some out of fear, some seeing a chance to settle old scores or take something they had coveted, but many, more than would later admit it, because they were just fine with it. The German empire had failed in WW1, and the Weimar Republic had proven to be ineffective, and this dynamic, loudmouthed, brook-no-argument, nationalist chancellor seemed to be actually getting things done and putting the enemies of Germany in their place. They bought into the belief that the Jews and the Socialists were responsible for these failures hook, line and sinker, and they were perfectly ok with the elimination of other undesirables like Gypsies, homosexuals, and other non-Aryans.

The Democratic Party and their allies in the media admittedly aren’t selling conquest of the world. However, they are trying to suppress the opposition and point accusing fingers at everyone but themselves while casting themselves in the role of the only ones who can protect liberty and freedom, even as they take it away from the rank and file of American citizens. They aren’t selling exactly the same brand of genocide as the Nazis, but they are selling the elimination of all who disagree with them from public life…for now, and the cowing of everyone else into following the almighty woke. As it is getting way from woke is almost impossible. You can’t watch TV or go to a movie or anything without having woke shoved in your face. What is more, I don’t think many people grasp just how powerful the government is in enforcing conformity, especially when it partners with the few megacorporations that are impossible to avoid dealing with. In New Jersey the government can basically push a button and suspend every license a person holds, from your license to practice your profession to your license to run your business to your driver’s license. Originally it was intended to be used in the enforcement of child support, since deadbeat dads would have to take action if suddenly they couldn’t drive, but now it is also used in enforcement of the payment of state student loans, since a deadbeat lawyer or doctor would have to take action if suddenly he couldn’t earn a living. It would be no problem to use it other ways. If suddenly banks, credit card companies, and even services like amazon shut you out, because you were declared a misinformer, you’d be in a very tough spot. We already saw what Justin Trudeau was willing to do with the trucker protests, and many on the left would like to bring that down here.

You mark my words, we are headed for the biggest test of this nation since the Civil War this year.

Then you’ll have nothing left to lose.

I believe it was James Caan in the movie “Thief” who said something to the effect of “There’s nothing more dangerous than a man who doesn’t give a fuck.”

They’re causing a lot of people to not give a fuck. A lot of those people have skills and experience unrelated to posting on Facebook or memorizing pronouns.

If somebody takes my livelihood and my freedom, there’s really no reason why I shouldn’t take his life. After all, what have I got to lose?
