It’s Come To This: Snopes Spins Madly To Claim the President Doesn’t Look Ridiculous

Presidents through the years have frequently allowed themselves to be photographed looking silly. My favorite example, which I first saw and giggled over at about the age of 10, is the famous shot above of dour Calvin Coolidge wearing an India headdress. Author Josh King wrote in “Dukakis and the Tank” that the first rule of political photo ops is “Never put anything on your head!” Before Coolidge put on the headdress while being named an honorary chief in Deadwood, South Dakota during a campaign stop in 1927, advisors told him he would “look funny.” “Well it’s good for people to laugh, isn’t it?” Coolidge replied.

I would like to think that President Biden had the same rationale for wearing his hard-hat backwards at a bar with some union construction workers…

…but I fear that in his current deteriorating mental state he could mistake Jill for a hat.

Predictably, conservative blogs, pundits and social media wags had a ball mocking Joe when that photo went viral, pointing out the obvious, that he had the hat on backwards and looked like a doofus. (Presidents aren’t supposed to look like doofuses.) But as Ethics Alarms has pointed out (not that it should need pointing out) the vast majority of the biased mainstream media sees it as their sacred duty to get Biden re-elected by any means necessary, even if it means living the next year in The Magical World of ‘It Isn’t What It Is.’ This mindset is especially true of the corrupt “factchecking” entities like PolitiFact, the Washington Post’s “The Factchecker,” and Snopes, which jumped the integrity shark more than a decade ago.

The latter, which has not absorbed the crucial lesson that bias makes you stupid, beclowned itself yesterday by actually arguing that those evil conservative Biden critics were lying, because President Biden was wearing the hat correctly, even though you didn’t have to be in construction to see it was obviously on backwards.

Eventually Snopes got so much flack of getting the backwards hat factcheck backwards, it reversed itself with this…

It is beyond my comprehension anyone would ever take seriously an operation so deep in its political operative role than it 1) felt that it needed to rush to the Left’s rescue when one of its star wears a hat wrong and 2) would do such an incompetent job of it.

And let’s be grateful to Elon Musk. If he hadn’t bought Twitter/X, messages such as this one…

…would have been censored as “disinformation,” like Hunter Biden’s laptop.

  1. Even more telling is that none of his entourage corrected the Emperor’s New Clothes. More evidence of Washingtonitis, syncophancy, or just not giving a damn.

  2. He probably wore it backwards on purpose to highlight the Union stickers adorning the back. Nonetheless, he has no need to be wearing a hard hat because he has little to protect

  3. Didn’t Biden work construction every morning after attending mass at the black Puerto Rican synagogue as a teen? He should’ve known better.

  4. The jumbled notice of correction made my head hurt to such an extent that I had to dive deeper.

Apparently, the hard hat in question was installed with the brim backwards, over the tightening knob.

Biden wore the hard hat with the brim forwards, which is normally acceptable, except put the knob over his forehead (which should be plainly incorrect).

Snopes tried to argue that the hat was not “backwards” as claimed, because the brim itself was “forwards”. I don’t know if it is OSHA-approved to install a hard with the brim reversed, but it is plainly dangerous to put the knob over the forehead.
