On today’s CNN’s “AC360,” host Anderson Cooper described the “horrifying” details of student Laken Hope Riley’s murder on the University of Georgia campus last week, then quickly pivoted to spinning that “the revelation the suspect was in this country unlawfully” had caused the murder to be “politicized.” Earlier, CNN’s Jake Tapper similarly adopted the “Republicans pounce!” tactic, saying “They’re seizing on this as an example of Biden’s failure to protect the American people and secure the border.”
Damn right, because that’s what it is. This death should be politicized: it’s Willie Horton all over again, except that Biden and the open-borders Democrats didn’t just goof by releasing one dangerous criminal to prey on the public, they have released many, and are releasing many more. Trump on Truth Social said the obvious, that Riley’s murder should’ve ‘never happened.’” Of course it should never have happened. Illegal immigrants shouldn’t be allowed to roam free, and this one had already been arrested more than once.
CNN was apparently determined to disgrace itself even more than usual to avoid admitting that the needless tragedy simply reaffirmed what Donald Trump had said about illegal immigration when he announced his run for the White House in 2015. It featured U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) who blathered that while the death of Laken Riley “is tragic and it’s a loss and it’s important to acknowledge that,” “the important thing to focus on is any one instance shouldn’t shape our overall immigration policy, which has so many different facets, including economic choices about what workers to allow in, how to create prosperity in America.” Naturally CNN’s Erin Burnett, Democratic Party hack that she is, didn’t have the integrity decency or respect for her viewers to respond, “What are you talking about? This wasn’t just an isolated instance, and you know it. Just last month, the mother of 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton, who was autistic, filed a $100 million lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services claiming that they were responsible for her daughter’s death. There were serious crimes, rapes, murders and assaults, committed by illegals in every month of 2023! How stupid do you think the American public is?”
Pretty stupid, apparently, and the news media is right there with her. Newsweek wins the prize for most blatant effort to change the subject with the idiotic headline, “MAGA demands death penalty for migrant arrested over killing of Laken Riley.” The murder of a young woman by an illegal immigrant isn’t the story; nah, it’s that those cruel MAGA types want to execute him! (So do I. In fact, I would support a law mandating the death penalty for any murder or rape committed by an illegal immigrant.)
Newsweek’s distortion is the kind of MSM news coverage we can expect from now until Election Day.

People have claimed that there is no way for illegal aliens to vote.
There are no legal ways for non-citizens of America to vote in our elections. Obviously, there are a tiny number of fraudulent cases where non-citizens vote illegally. This has never been proven to be in amounts necessary to sway an election, ever. So, blow on it, Elon, before you apologize for the flat out lie?
Obviously, there was no legal way to kill nursing students, right?
Matthew chenoweth is a performer with no special insight into the way elections are conducted or whether fraud happens. Elon Musk should tell him that right before telling him to go fuck himself.
Nothing that he said negates Elon’s point. The burden is still on Elon to prove it, but I don’t know how its possible to prove given the way the system is currently designed. If you’re automatically registered to vote, they just see if you’re registered, not if your allowed to vote. How would they know?
This was an issue as far back as 2007, when there was a triple homicide in Newark by someone who is here illegally and had been deported multiple times. However, since Newark was a sanctuary city, he just walked back in again. The current mayor promises zero cooperation with immigration authorities because he will not in his words, make our police into slave catchers.
Of course there’s media bias. Anyone who says that there isn’t is either a liar, a hack, or an idiot. Take your choice. Unfortunately, this is so rooted that it’s impossible to get rid of. Blood on the president’s hands? I thought only Republicans were allowed to be accused of having blood on their hands. According to some, everyone conservative has blood of gay people on their hands, because it’s conservative people’s beliefs that lead to suicide and so forth.
Personally, I despise reporters. I wouldn’t blame most Republican officials if they refused to deal at all with reporters and said they can read the press releases. I also wouldn’t mind if the police started roughing reporters up a little when they started to dig into stuff for the sake of digging. Let’s see some obnoxious journalist write lies after we smash both his hands with a nightstick.

One “good immigrant” rationalization I particularly hate is the claim that “immigrants” commit crimes at a rate lower than American citizens. I don’t know or care if that’s actually true, but it’s completely irrelevant. ANY crime committed by an illegal is one that would not have occurred in this country if they had been where they belonged… Every. Single. One. It’s not an alternative to citizen criminality, it’s an avoidable addition.
Anyone who has lost a loved one to an illegal murderer, drunk driver, or drug-runner, would not have been burdened by that loss if the border had been secured against foreign criminals. Frankly, I’m sort of surprised that some old cancered deer hunter nearing the end hasn’t taken it upon himself to take out SloJo at 600 yards to settle the score for the loss of a grandchild.
My cousin was murdered by a 3 time felon who the INS picked up days before and let him go… instead of deporting him.
He killed my cousin, who was a police officer, and shot him multiple times with and pistol whipped him.
It could have been avoided if he had been deported, but nope…
So yeah. that was like 18 years ago too…
