  1. “Newcomers!?”

Well, well, that’s an interesting new descriptive narrative word to describe individuals that have or are openly and actively engaging in illegal activity at our international border and invading our country by the millions.

What does the Biden administration do with these invading “newcomers”? They white wash over their blatant illegal activity and take hard earned dollars from veteran citizens (opposite of newcomers) and give it to these illegal immigrant “newcomers” in the form of cash, cash cards, free roofs over their heads, free transportation, free smart phones, free food, free healthcare, free child care, free clothing, free, free, free, etc. Please note that most of these are benefits that our established veteran citizens can’t get without jumping through level after level of bureaucratic red tape and then if you don’t dot your “i” and cross your “t” properly your denied and have to start the whole process over again.

Every one of these 7+ million illegal “newcomers” that have illegally crossed our international borders in the last three years should be immediately deported, period, end of discussion.

My opinion: Either you enter the United States using the proper legal immigration methods if you illegally cross our borders to gain access to the United States then you will be deported and denied access to the United States FOR LIFE!

  2. This joins “scholars”, “teenagers”, and “diversity” in the list of words that don’t mean what they mean but can’t say the truth because you are a racist for pointing it out.

  3. I wouldn’t be surprised to see additional terms like “freshman pre-citizens” enter the euphemism lexicon.

  4. “Newcomers” is the label for those immigrants entering the country legally. ”Criminals” is the label for those immigrants entering the country any other way.

    • Joel, you just have to remember that the progressive tactic is to try to control language. Once upon a time, we had illegal aliens, and that was a pejorative, and so they had to change the terminology to something higher up the cognitive dissonance scale. So then we had illegal immigrants. But the illegal was still too negative, so it had to be changed to undocumented immigrants. But the undocumented still meant something was wrong, so they had to drop the migrants. Aside from the fact that lumping illegals in with legal migrants drags the opinion of legal migrants down, progressives have found that even “migrants” is not sufficiently winning public approval. Thus the term has to change once more. Each time the terminology changes, the term starts out at something of a positive and then slow degrades into a negative, because the underlying reality has not changed.

Now I’m going to have to look up which philosopher preached the notion that language defines reality, and I forget whether he taught that there is no underlying reality, or that we can never truly know the underlying reality. But the concept is embedded in the progressive mind. They do not believe in an underlying reality. The only believe in shaping perception to their purposes. But this is why they get so flabbergasted that terminology still doesn’t solve everything, and they have to keep finding new terms. They can’t accept that great Shakespearean quote, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Call something whatever you want; it doesn’t change what it is.

      • So these “language adjustments” offer me the conclusion that when I decide to enter another person’s property during the night without permission, I should be greeted – and treated – as a “newcomer.”

        • Well, that depends on whose property you’re entering. If it’s my property, you’re a newcomer.

If it’s Nancy Pelosi’s property, you are a criminal thug.

If it’s a black person’s property (other than Clarence Thomas), you, sir, are a racist white supremacist.

It depends on the context, if I might be permitted to coin a phrase.

          • That’s right. Context matters. The true context is who is in charge of altering language. Right now, progressives have been given largely free reign to alter the narrative as they see fit, and so they are the ones powerful enough to set the acceptable terminology and who gets to appropriate what terms and definitions. This has been so since the days of political correctness, when we rolled our eyes at how idiotic it was to complain about “manhole cover,” because it wasn’t properly inclusive and women might get offended. But rolling our eyes didn’t stop them, and we allowed them to assume the power and control they have now. Now they have the ability to apply immense amounts of pressure to force people to cave to the new terms and new definitions, and they have legions of willing foot soldiers who immediately jump on board and enforce the latest newspeak.

Decades ago, pushing back against the progressive manipulation of language could have nipped the whole issue in the bud. Now, pushing back is painful and possibly destructive. That means that the progressive snowball keeps gaining momentum, and any future resistance is going to end up being fatal.

  5. Denver is planning to reduce some “on call” city employees’ working hours to help free up funds to provide services for illegals. Some may be reduced to 0 hours, but consistent with their newspeak for the “migrant” problem, that won’t be “layoffs”.

Boston is planning to open shelters in some trendy harbor area neighborhoods. Some Chicago democrats want suburbanites to take in illegal families (That went well in Martha’s Vineyard, right?), but haven’t indicated they’ll take any into their houses.

One of the best ideas gov. Abbot & co. had was to start shipping these criminals to democrat-run areas to let those creating the problem experience the consequences of it.
