Gangel and CNN are catching flack for this truly offensive and classic Trump-Deranged reaction, but whatever it is, it’s not enough.
Someone had just tried to murder him, and what the media-vilified candidate aid in the moments after that close brush with death could not reasonably be held against him even if he had said, say, just to pick random nonsense out of the air, “We beat Medicare!” But what he did say, as I just wrote in the previous post abut his raised fist, was unimpeachable, though if Trump were currently President I’m sure Adam Schiff and Maxine Waters would try to impeach him for it.
Ann Althouse gets it: she wrote this morning, after quoting Trump’s Truth Social message that concluded, “In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win,” that “No one can forget his fist pumping and repetition of “Fight! Fight! Fight!” less than 2 minutes after he “felt the bullet ripping through the skin.” But as his antagonists call for shared love — and an abandonment of fighting — he brings the love into his fight message, merging love and fighting. Notice that he isn’t calling us to fight against any human being — indeed, he calls all Americans to fight on his side. The enemy is ‘Wickedness’ and ‘Evil’.”
Indeed it is. Trump is a weird and even perverse messenger to issue that call to defiance, but he’s not wrong. Who cares what a CNN propaganda hack like Jamie Gangel thinks the message is that “we” ought to be sending “right now”? It’s obvious who “we” is, isn’t it? “We” is the Axis of Unethical Conduct, “the resistance,” Democrats, and the captive mainstream media. It has blood on its many hands. It knows they created the fear, hate and hysteria that put, to quote President Biden, “Trump in a bullseye.” They’ve been creating this since 2015. Now that their campaign of personal destruction, Big Lies and relentless hate has had the completely predictable result, the Axis claims they want to “damp it down,” and incredibly, still attack Trump for standing defying it.
Maybe enough American are so gullible and stupid that they get away with it.
Ethics Alarms 
Amazing how when anything like this happens, the immediate talking point is that the Republicans must stand down.
It’s the same miscreants who say “I hope Israel shows restraint” every time terrorists attack them-
“I hope republicans watch their rhetoric” right after a leftist agitator attempted to murder the opposition candidate.
It appears that this was a thoroughly confused registered Republican—you know, like George Conway, Liz Cheney and George Will.
Jack, I would be careful about calling him a Republican simply based on his voter registration. In the 2020 election there was a push to do an operation chaos like effort to have progressives register as Republicans to vote for weak primary candidates. The 2020 election would have been the only election in which he could have voted. Party registration means nothing when it can be used for any purpose.
The FEC has him as contributing to a progressive PAC albeit a very small one of 15$. This could not be erased. It is odd that that this 20year old has no social media presence that they could find which suggests that his history has been scrubbed. It would stand to reason that if you wanted to not leave any ties to your allies or potential motives you would scrub your social media.
It is as possible that he is as much a Lincoln Project Republican as it is that he is an ANTIFA operative. He was trained for this by someone or group to be used as a sacrificial martyr.
You’ll forgive me if I take his own registration seriously given his own self description as anti fascist and his own donation to progressive causes.
Maybe just his 18 year old self in 2022 thought he could sow a little chaos in a Republican primary somewhere.
Anyway. The shooter had all the morphological and phrenological markers of those antifa street goon mugshots so prevalent during the summer of peaceful protests.
But key to any analysis- less than 24 hours after the attempted assassination we won’t know for sure everything about this kid. But we do know for sure that if the kid falls completely off the radar of news agency reporting that means definitive proof that he was a progressive whack job came to light.

Right after 9/11 there was all kinds of rhetoric on the then much less sophisticated internet talking about how people like Barbara Kingsolver and Michael Moore hoped that the US would not retaliate. Somehow it’s always whoever is less favored by the left who has to just take their lumps.

Speculation: I’m guessing this shooting is Gabby Giffords redux. I bet this kid was simply a young, fully blooming paranoid schizophrenic who hadn’t had a clear thought in a year or two. All the bather about “political rhetoric” will prove to be pointless other than a cudgel for the Dems to use on Republicans.
Query: They said the shooter had no identification on his person. He was identified by DNA testing. Huh? Within twelve hours? What data base was his DNA in? Why? Is all of our DNA available to law enforcement?

Not sure about that. The kid made a donation to a far left PAC at 17. Now he registers as a Republican and puts on a second amendment type shirt before using his father’s rifle to open fire on the president from apparently the ideal spot. He also apparently spent some time putting explosive devices together. This is not someone who just woke up this morning hating the world. A fair amount of planning went into this, probably more than went into the assault on the Congressional baseball game 7 years ago. Sociopath, maybe, but I don’t think he was a complete psychopath.
I read that he has been arrested before so law enforcement had this fingerprints.

President Biden and the Mainstream Media (Official State Media) are in no position to credibly call for unity or for ‘calming down the rhetoric’. After 4-8 years of calling Trump Hitler, calling him an ‘existential threat to democracy’, calling him a ‘clear and present danger’, saying that Republicans cannot be tolerated in America, calling for people to attack Trump officials, they cannot now credibly claim to be the people of ‘unity’. Unless President Biden first apologizes for every time he demonized his political opponents and the media fire every single person who called Trump Hitler, and ‘existential threat’, etc, they cannot call for unity or for the Republicans to calm down.
Secondly, what cities were in flames this morning? After Biden, Harris, and the media excused and encouraged the destruction of inner cities across this country because Democrats were ‘upset’, what have Republicans do to need to be told to ‘calm down’? It is OK to burn down cities, loot businesses, and murder people, but being ‘upset’ is not allowed?
Until all the people who promoted and abetted the Trump-hate and the BLM riots are all fired, they have to right to say anything.
