Incompetent Elected Official and Ethics Dunce: VP Kamala Harris (Surprise!)

This shouldn’t be hard to grasp: incompetence really does matter in a President, as does trust.

Kamala Harris had a private discussion with Benjamin Netanyahu, a head of state. Diplomacy 101 dictates that when sensitive matters are discussed, neither party to such discussion reveals the details of what is said, nor does either party make statements after the meeting that undermine either the relationship between the two individuals, nor their respective nations, nor the interests and objectives of those nations.

This isn’t hard, nor should it be.

But for Kamala Harris, it is. This is a problem.

Having met with the Israel Prime Minister, Harris initially said that the U.S. has an “unwavering commitment” to Israel, its right to exist and its security. She called Hamas a “brutal terrorist organization.” Then she said,

“”What has happened in Gaza over the past nine months is devastating. The images of dead children and desperate, hungry people fleeing for safety sometimes displaced for the second, third, or fourth time. We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering. And I will not be silent…It is time for this war to end in a way where Israel is secure, all the hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza ends and the Palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity, and self-determination. And as I just told Prime Minister Netanyahu it is time to get this deal done. Let’s get the deal done. So we can get a ceasefire to end the war. Let’s bring the hostages home. And let’s provide much-needed relief to the Palestinian people.”

What a fool, and a dangerous one.

That language is about as helpful and nuanced as “Hey Hey, LBJ, How many kinds did you kill today?” It’s infantile anti-war babble. (Do I really have to say that Presidents have to do better?) All war is “devastating.” That statement is meaningless. She is appealing to emotion rather than hard realities: how girly of her…and how inept. “We cannot look away…we cannot become numb”…this is obscenely incompetent, and pure virtue-signalling. Oooh, tell us how you feel, Kamala! You won’t be silent? In international diplomacy, every word needs to be considered carefully or you shut the hell up. She is like a Pop Warner football player running onto the field in an NFL game.

“It is time for this war to end in a way where Israel is secure, all the hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza ends and the Palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity, and self-determination.” And for all children to have their own ponies, and let’s all sing “Imagine”! It’s time! Her addled and inept statement is the antithesis of “unwavering commitment.”

Israel will not be secure until there is no more Hamas. There will not be another ceasefire until Hamas surrenders or is destroyed. The “suffering of Palestinians” resulted from their own choice to let Hamas be their government, and suffering is what happens to people who start wars. The Palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity, and self-determination when they make a meaningful pledge to accept the existence of Israel, which they have never done and show no inclination to do.

Saying that “it is time” for something to happen that has overwhelming impediments to its occurring is grandstanding as well as magical thinking. An outburst like this not only shows Harris is unqualified to be President, it shows she is unqualified to teach nursery school.

Netanyahu was understandably upset that Harris promoted a hostage and ceasefire deal as a way to end the war; of course he was. If the war ends without Hamas being eliminated, there will be more terror attacks on Jewish civilians. Harris’s outburst was essentially a pro-Hamas position.

“When our enemies see the U.S. and Israel are aligned it increases the chances for a hostage deal and decreases the chances for a regional escalation,” the Israeli official said. “When there is such daylight it pushes the deal further away and brings a regional escalation closer. We hope that Harris’ public criticism of Israel won’t give Hamas the impression that there is daylight between the U.S. and Israel and as a result make it harder to get a deal.”

Sure it will. In addition, the Israeli officials said that Harris’s characterization of her meeting with Netanyahu was false. He now knows that he can’t trust her, but then nobody should trust her, certainly not in foreign affairs, where she has no experience and, as this episode proves, no common sense, discretion or judgment.

  1. Get it done! That notion is easily accomplished if we and other nations stop obstructing Israel. Perhaps a lesson in history would benfit Harris.

We got it done in WWII by bombing to near oblvion the Nazi held cities. Hambug alone lost 45000 civilains in one night. Those civilains like the citizens of Gaza who supported thier governors.

We got it done by using two nuclear bombs against Japan casuing millionsof deaths of civilians who supported their regime.

To get it done Harris and others msut untether Israel and let them get it done.

War is ugly, I’ve seen it and lived it, but to get it done it must be!

  2. Competence, for a leader, should mean being able to understand events better than the meanings that common propaganda conveys. Her quote is the common propaganda. It immediately undermined the words “unwavering commitment to Israel.” The expression of the latter phrase should mean that we have faith that they will take the best decisions, and that we have the faith that they are doing all they can to minimize casualties–as they claim.
She obviously doesn’t understand that Hamas has determined long ago that their women and children and other civilians are good for propaganda purposes only. They hide underground and in buildings that should be reserved for non-combatants. Hospitals, schools, housing where non-combatants reside are favorites. They transport combatants in ambulances. Israel is fighting an entity that has no ethic but the ethic that Jews must die, and Israel must be wiped off the map. There’s no way to fight that war without killing civilians. There’s only one thing that will save those women and children, etc. That is to make popular the sentiment that Hamas must surrender to save them.
Urban combat is the worst, for everybody. Many buildings must be cleared, because any combatant can sneak up to any window, or door, or hide behind rubble. A commander must clear the hiding places in order to save their own soldiers from snipers and rocket launchers. Hamas cannot win. Israel must win, and to do so they have to make Hamas surrender. The neglect of leaders to make this objective clear is huge. I don’t know why nobody that really cares about the children doesn’t make this their theme. HAMAS MUST SURRENDER!!! That ought to be in every other line any journalist or leader speaks when they speak of the war in Gaza.
    Pass it on.

  3. What is it about the Biden / Harris administration through Tony Blinken and Barack Obama with the idea of the “Two State Solution” being the ONLY solution? Is there really any evidence at all that Palestinians are on board with a “Two State Solution” if one of them has to be Israel? Maybe thirty years ago… But now? I don’t quite see it.

  4. Just wait until the Department of State gets the DEI once over. Ilhan Omar and Tlaib will be made co-Secretaries of State. And in other corners of the cabinet, AOC will be Secretary of the Treasury. Kim Foxx will be Attorney General.

  5. Kamala Harris is a moron, I’m shocked, shocked I say!

In case y’all have been wondering; after three weeks and 6,201 vacation miles behind us…

“Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.”
