From the Res Ipsa Loquitur Files, Scary But Funny Section: Nah, There’s No Big Tech Pro-Democrat Bias!

Brief reactions:

  • Why did it take so long for someone to try this?
  • Of course, only a moron would seriously ask Alexa who to vote for, but then morons are the pivotal voting bloc in any Presidential election.
  • One would think Amazon would be a bit more careful not to show its hand like this. One would be wrong.
  • This is how you fix an election and then deny later that the election was “stolen”: Millions of little slants, nudges, lies, smears and bits of propaganda, none them by themselves significant enough to point to as corrupting, but collectively very powerful.
  • Watch Amazon say that this was just an inadvertent “mistake.” Sure it was. What are you, a conspiracy theorist? Big Tech would never be so openly biased and manipulative before an election! This was a glitch, that’s all.  AI still has glitches! Be patient!
  • Hilariously, the best Alexa can come up with as a Harris “accomplishment” despite stating that there are so, so many is her DEI status. Perfect.

  1. Yep, Amazon is calling it an “error”. Funny how these Big Tech errors always seem to favor the Democrats. Can someone bring in Tom Wilkinson to explain how suspicious that looks?

      • I was thinking about that recently. I saw the movie – based on your recommendation, Thanks – and read Dr. Lipstadt’s book on the trial, as well as Dr. Richard Evans’ book. They were both highly beneficial. But Wilkinson’s speech in the movie was an excellent example of how one can determine if someone is acting in good faith.

  2. The DNC filed an FEC complaint when Musk and Trump had their discussion. The dNC claimed this amounted to an illegal campaign contribution.
This is no error. This was purposely coded to allow the bot to respond in the manner it did.

The RNC should complain and sympathetic state AG’s should file election interference charges against Bezos

I would be happy to accept the idea it was a mistake if the mistakes were not always one sided. There are several different positive reviews of Harris from Alexa. One specifically says the most important quality of Harris is that she is a woman of color. How the hell done’s AI interpret race as a qualification if it was not programmed to make that assessment.

      • Sorry, I guess my sarcasm wasn’t as obvious as I intended. I meant they accidentally “said the quiet part out loud”….part of the code, as you said, and not meant to be seen or produce such an obviously slanted result.

        • I can be relatively thick when it comes to sarcasm. I can see it now. I read it as a literal rationale. This stems from me not fully understanding everything that goes into AI programming.

          • Oh, I have no Idea about AI programming either (only programming I ever learned was Fortran…really dates me 😉 ), I could be completely wrong, Just surmising that that response didn’t manifest without some sort of biased trigger that was never meant to be seen.

  3. A propos of nothing to this post, but Never Trumpers should start freaking out that Trump is going to steal the election with massive voter fraud. They should run around demanding voter ID and limitations on mail-in ballots. The DNC and MSM would be caught in a wonderful pickle.
