Unethical Quote of the Week: President Joe Biden

“Some things are more important than staying in power.”

—-President Biden at the U.N., stumbling through his speech on world affairs even with the assistance of his teleprompter.

Even though our President is demented, deluded, habitually dishonest and without shame, I am still astounded that he would have the gall to say that at the United Nations. I guess he thinks the delegates are as stupid and gullible as his party evidently thinks the U.S. public is.

No, the context of that head-exploding statement doesn’t make it less nauseating:

I’ve made the preservation of democracy the central cause of my presidency. This summer, I faced a decision whether to seek a second term as president.  It was a difficult decision.  Being president has been the honor of my life.  There is so much more I want to get done.  But as much as I love the job, I love my country more.  I decided, after 50 years of public service, it’s time for a new generation of leadership to take my nation forward.  My fellow leaders, let us never forget, some things are more important than staying in power.  It’s your people — (applause) — it’s your people that matter the most.

Of all Americans, of all Presidents of the United States, this is the last person who should be lecturing anyone on the voluntary surrender of power. To state the most obvious part, Biden is still President, at least nominally, and he has been too old and addled to do the job for months, and probably a year or more. He hasn’t surrendered any power yet, and was ethically and civically obligated to do so as soon as it was clear, as it should have been, that he couldn’t adequately serve in his most difficult and challenging position.

Second, Biden’s account of his decision is a lie. He made the decision to seek another term. He allowed his party to commit to him, to block competitors for the nomination. After his debate debacle, Biden said he would only give up his his place at the head of the 2024 ticket “If God came down” and told him to. Biden’s later withdrawing his attempt at a second term was by all accounts completely involuntary. He was given the choice of surrendering his place at the top of the Democratic ticket, or be forced out of office. Moreover, though Biden was apparently trapped in a mirage, it was apparent to everyone else that Biden wasn’t going to be re-elected because while some Democrats are inexplicably willing to vote for an empty power suit as long as she is “historic” and wants to make sure as many unborn children can be “unalived” as possible, not enough voters are willing to give another four-year term to a doddering shell a couple of months from having to wear a drool cup.

The President’s statement was open deceit and fake history, implying that he had done something noble, giving up power voluntarily, when he did not and in fact is hanging on to it like grim death—which in this case is just barely a metaphor. Biden is ethically estopped from extolling the virtues of surrendering power.

And I have to ask, what exactly is more important than staying in power to Biden, or for that matter, his party? Riiiight: “saving democracy.” We know, don’t we, that this was just the back-room consultants’ eventual consensus regarding the best issue the Democrats have—Trump is Hitler (though it is the Biden Administration that is seeding anti-Semitism by supporting Hamas)—-because there is virtually nothing positive about how the party has governed for the last four years.

Biden’s party believes nothing is more important than staying in power.

  1. “Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”

He was just off by a few years.

    • The Nazis and the Communists knew perfectly well that they were seizing power willingly. Seizing it for the greater good is how they duped people into accepting it. And those who weren’t duped were forced into accepting it (or, at least, not working against it).

Totalitarian regimes are the same the world over. The so-called Progressive Democrats or Democratic Socialists will dupe until they have as many people as possible on their side. Who they cannot dupe, they will coerce.

      • It’s the age-old two-pronged approach to totalitarian rule: Use “manipulation” when you are in a position of weakness in order to gain a position of strength. After that, use “intimidation” to beat down resistance.

In my estimation, the far Left believes it’s nearly ready to make the transition.

        • Well, the FCC is waiving the normal security review period (usually takes a year) to allow George Soros to buy over 200 MORE radio stations in the US before the election. Foreign ownership is not supposed to exceed 25%, and some report that this is being waived as well. What does that tell you?

  2. What’s somewhat ironic is that the coercion is total. President Biden was forced to step down…and President Biden is being forced to say he voluntarily stepped down. Like Gollum with the Ring, President Biden has no will left in the matter. He is completely controlled by his masters. His “stepping down” isn’t noble…it isn’t a Commander-in-Chief taking control of his destiny. Rather, it’s pathetic…it’s the Commander-in-Chief admitting to the world that he has zero control of anything. The puppet masters let him dance in the public eye until that first debate proved their strings were the only thing holding him up. Then he was cut loose and forced – using his own lips – to perpetuate a ridiculous lie about the process.

And do you think for one minute that any world leader sitting in that UN assembly doesn’t already know that?!? It was a pathetic performance by a pathetic shell of a pathetic man who did pretty much nothing in half a century of riding to personal wealth on the backs of the taxpayers. The performance projected gross weakness to the free world, to that part of the world trapped by tyranny and the despots who have trapped them, to the Palestinians in Gaza, to the residents of Taiwan, and to the resistance-minded in North Korea and Iran and China.

    • And brace yourself, the party has lined up the next ventriloquist dummy to mindlessly mouth the party line. And this ventriloquist dummy is a much younger model, so her remaining serviceable for two full terms should be a piece of cake. Her brain should be fine insofar as there’s not a thought in there.

  3. Fun fact, Joe Biden is part of the Silent Generation. His statement, given that he’s turned the reins over to Kamala Harris, is that “the younger generation” is (still) the Boomers.

Here’s a list of the Boomer Generation (46-64) in the White House:

    1) Dan Quayle

    2) Bill Clinton

    3) Al Gore

    4) George W Bush

    5) Barack Obama

    6) Donald Trump

    7) Mike Pence

    8) Kamala Harris

Here’s a list of Generation X (65-80) in the White House:

    ….

Here’s a list of Xennials (77-83) on major party tickets this election:

    ….

Here’s a list of Millenials (81-96) on major party tickets this election:

    1) JD Vance

[For the record, Tim Walz is also a Boomer, born in 1964, 6 months prior to Kamala.]
