The video of former Disney star Selena Gomez weeping over the deportations of illegal immigrants who should be deported is a brilliant reminder that Hollywood makes you stupid. Gomez posted it on her Instagram which has 424 million followers and I want to kill myself.
Gomez is difficult to understand amid all the sobbing and histrionics, but here’s the text: “I just want to say I am so sorry… all my people are getting attacked [by Trump’s deportations]. The children. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something, but I can’t, I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
To state the obvious, being subject to law enforcement isn’t being “attacked.” It is breathtakingly obnoxious for Gomez to call illegal immigrants “her people”—she’s an American citizen, and we are her people. Of course she plays the always popular “Think of the children!” card. And the hubris necessary for a B-list celebrity—she was okay in “The Dead Don’t Die”— to apologize for something she has no power over whatsoever, and to promise to “try everything” to stop it when there is nothing she can do is especially staggering.
“Entertainment Tonight” isn’t much better, saying in that clip that the deportation policy mostly “targets Latinos.” No, you hacks, it entirely targets illegal immigrants.
You can say this weepy virtue-signaling is harmless, but the fact that an ignorant woman like Gomez has over 400 million followers means that a political, cultural and ethics dunce can influence a dangerous number of people, making them stupid, fearful, and bad citizens. It has always been thus that our most talented artists (not that Selena is one of those) usually lack intellectual and critical thinking abilities on par with their performing abilities. They also tend to be emotionally frozen somewhere between the 6th and 11th grade. There are exceptions, of course, but social media has given these Dunning-Kruger victims a way to spread their juvenile politics and poor civics literacy far and wide, usually infecting the young most of all, and most damaging of all.

I see zero celebrity tears being shed for the victims of the illegal alien criminals that Biden allowed into the country. If Gomez truly “doesn’t understand” the deportation of criminal aliens, she’s too stupid to be taken seriously on any substantive matter. I think the vast majority of adults in our society are sick to death of celebrity activists and their feelings. I the succinct language of my late mother, “Who the hell cares?”
It makes sense when you remember that the main purpose of those who make these videos is to attract attention to THEMSELVES, not to actually help anyone else.

As far as I can find, Selena Gomez’s mother is white. Her Mexican father abandoned them when she was a young child. She was raised by her white mother and white stepfather. She has been an American citizen her entire life and her mother an American citizen her entire life. She has never been a citizen of another country. Everyone in her family has been an American citizen for at least 3 generations. However, she views illegal aliens as ‘her people’ and Americans as evil ‘not her people’. She proudly claims to be Mexican and live in Mexican culture. Her mother is of Italian ancestry. Why doesn’t she view herself as Italian?
She also seems to have the outlook of a member of a Mexican drug cartel. She never once complained about the 300,000 ‘unaccompanied’ children brought into this country who disappeared into child labor or sex slavery. She never once complained about the criminal illegal gangs taking over parts of the country. No, she only complained when the criminal gang members get deported. I saw pictures of the deportation flights. What did I see in the picture? Military aged men. There were no women, no children, just young men. Refugees are mainly women, children, and the elderly. Young men ‘migrating’ into your country are a military invasion.
Selena Gomez is someone who takes the side of criminals who invade her country over her own country. She is a traitor to the US in her heart. She has as many ties to Mexico as I do to Canada or England or France, but she clings to Mexico and she despises America. She is a visible symbol of American citizens of Hispanic descent and she demonstrates that she does not love this country nor is she a loyal American citizen. I know Hispanics who complain that they are not viewed as fully American despite being citizens for several generations. To them, I would point to Selena Gomez as an example of why people might feel that way. As long as prominent Americans of even distant Hispanic descent are celebrated for rejecting America and identifying as foreign nationalities and cultures, some people are going to view them as not fully American. I know that may seem harsh to some people, but it is the truth and it isn’t an American racism thing. Go to any country and if you have a group that has been in the country for generations, but identifies with another country, see how they are viewed. Look at the Donbas, for example.

And wait. Isn’t the United States the worst nation on earth? A white supremacist hellscape? Shouldn’t Selena’s people be delighted to be delivered from this evil and transported back to the wonderful, quaint, diverse, ethnic countries from which they were lured by evil capitalists? I just don’t get it. Why do her people even think they want to be here, of all places?
It isn’t just the racist, Democratic Party ‘one-drop rule’, it is that she rejects the US, her own country, to embrace Mexico, a foreign country, that neither she, her mother, or her father, are or were citizens of. She champions criminal invaders of her own country while championing those same criminal invaders. She cares nothing for anyone harmed or abused by violent criminals, but she objects loudly if those violent criminals are arrested and repatriated to their own country because that is how she thinks a ‘Mexican-American’ should feel about the situation.
She is good in “Only Murders in the Building”.
If anyone thinks Mexico is a welcoming nation keep in mind the term gringo is still used in polite company. There is a reason they facilitate migrants from Guatemala an Honduras and other nations to the US and that reason is they do not want them in their country.
This is not to say that the typical hospitality worker in Mexico is not polite or endearing but having traveled to parts of Mexico numerous times the people value us for the money we spend and do not want us to move there and compete for jobs. You will also find that officials will automatically take the side of the local when disputes arise.
While Ms. Gomez may not be A-list Hollywood talent, I was particularly shocked to see that a newish (2024) list of the wealthy, as compiled by Bloomberg, includes Selena Gomez at … $1.3B!!
Who knew? I only learned last week but it made the rounds last Sept. or so. Apparently she has a makeup company and acts and sings for chicken feed compared to her paper worth in stock.
Her video seems like a calculated stunt to me.

How about you – all all the other A-listers in your neighborhood – allowing a few hundred illegals (or maybe a thousand) to set up camp along the secluded tree-lined drive your homes border?
How about you letting a handful of MS-13er’s accompany you on your morning jog after you’ve dolled yourself up with makeup from your company? You can call it the “Laken Riley Run for Fun.”
How about you letting some of them – none of whom you know and none of whom have been vetted – babysit your pets while you’re recording another album cut? They may even wok your dog for you.
How about you loaning some of those people one or more of your cars…or giving them free access to your limo and driver…so they can go shopping or look for work?
How about you opening up your home, the one with all those luxury bedrooms and bathrooms (and probably a pool with a backyard kitchen), to twenty or thirty illegals that you’ve never met and have not been vetted?
How about you supplying illegals with some of your money so they can go buy a tent and some food?
How about you handing out one year’s income from just your music royalties to illegals?
How about you donating your entire multi-million-dollar property to a charity that supports illegal immigration so it can be used as a boarding/transition house?

Like nearly every Hollywood resident that lives in ivory-tower luxury, untouchable by and inaccessible to “real life” where the rest of us live, you sit on your perceived “throne of influence” and demand everyone else do something. In this case our “do something” is to do nothing and just allow millions of people – everyone of them a criminal to some degree – to roam our streets. So we pay and it costs you?…pretty much nothing except some smeared mascara.

A group of Hispanics waving Mexican flags attacked a man with an American flag in Dallas yesterday. They took his flag and desecrated it. A Dallas police officer stood by and watched, but did nothing. Americans have to allow ourselves to be attacked by people supporting foreign governments and our officials will do nothing about it. When I saw it, I was reminded of the Hamas supporters who took American flags off government buildings in D.C. and replaced them with ‘Palestinian’ flags.
There are a lot of people fed up with the liberal message. Between the Selena Gomez’s and incidents like this, I am afraid a powder keg is being filled to the top.
