Behold! A Fascinating Visit To The Mind of a Trump Derangement Sufferer

This was just reposted by a very astute and generally learned lawyer friend (who, I should mention, is a retired USAID employee who never returned to the land of her birth except for visits and who has lived abroad for decades). I could write about this screed for pages, but I’ll leave it to you.

I will only observe that Ethics Alarms commented critically on many of the incidents and statements listed when they occurred, while others are framed according to Axis media narratives (look at the sources) or are the kind of exaggerations and hyperboles that Trump critics call “lies” when he engages in the same techniques.

I will also observe that making this statement without considering who and what this admittedly flawed leader is opposing and the demonstrated values and conduct of the alternative is hypocritical, deliberately misleading, or, ironically, stupid.

  1. Someone who uses memes to make their argument for them cannot be trusted to have fully examined the issue involved. Memes are too often reductionist and context-free; they play to the biases of those who use them. I scroll right past them.

  2. The real problem here is the pot calling the kettle black. The people that the Left has championed can be just as denigrated with a similar laundry list. A similar insinuation of malice and hatred can just easily be leveled at the Left. And the responses that Adam-Troy Castro (or whoever it was) attributes to Trump supports are dishonest, because at the worst, the response is, “Better than the alternative,” not “I’m fine with that.”

Anyone want to make a similar list for Harris? Biden? Obama? Clinton?

    • Let’s say everything Troy Castro wrote is true and we can forgive his smug self-satisfied glow for having achieved so much.

This giant of journalism has overlooked the most relevant perception and that is the alternative to Trump is so hideous, so unsavory, so ineffably destructive that the majority of citizens just knew in their gut they had to roll the dice and vote Trump. So far it appears to be a winning bet that is paying off better than most could anticipate.

Have a nice day and keep the faith…🤠

  3. The Neo-Nazi/white supremacist point is a lie.

The remainder of that giant list – whether all the rest of the points have any validity (and at least some of them do) can be debated – gets a simple response from me: “What about it?” The factual points on that list simply confirm what most of us already know: at times President Trump is a pompous, loud-mouthed jerk. He seems to be less of one now than he was his first time, but that doesn’t lessen his guilt.

President Trump is not the first jerk to live in the White House. Our second President was in numerous circumstances our First Jerk. We’ve had numerous examples since, and President Trump won’t likely be the last. The President should not be Santa Claus. Nor the Easter Bunny. Nor your favorite teacher from High School. Nor the band director. Nor Fred Rogers. Nor Roy Rogers. Nor Aaron Rodgers.

The President has to be a leader who creates a vision, brings in a cabinet to help with the vision (and throws them out when they don’t), and works with the Legislature in an attempt to bring his vision to life. Sometimes that person is affable…sometimes a jerk…sometimes both.

And though it smacks of whataboutism, it wouldn’t a well-informed individual too long to create a similar list pointed in the other direction.

    • a simple response from me: “What about it?”

      Love it.

My go to, when people make claims about what Trump is going to do, what rights he’s going to strip away, on and on ad nauseam, is to simply respond with a calm and polite “like what?” Watching them choke and sputter is always entertaining because they can’t answer the question. Of course they can’t.

  4. I have one simple answer that, in my view, that overrides everything she said:

“Because he is superior in policy and, from my experience, execution to every single alternative currently on offer.”

At the end of the day, there have been a lot of moral reprobates serving in the presidency, and Trump is certainly one. While it is nice to have an Abraham Lincoln as our president, given the alternatives currently available, Trump is the best we can do.

Which says way more about the Left than it does the Right.

  5. Timely; I received this from far Lefty sister (who has a long history of thinking she’s the smartest one in the room) a few hours ago:

    Did you vote for Trump?

The Trump-Musk administration is trying to cut medical research at UW, including the Alzheimer’s Dementia study that mom & dad participated in, research that may have helped to ease their loss of cognition & would absolutely benefit our generation as we age:

Brilliant. Cuts to programs that actually help people but hands off those federal contracts that continue to enrich Musk:

Trump-Musks proposed cuts to Medicaid will directly harm our relatives who benefit from BadgerCare as will cutting SNAP, better known as food stamps. This means Keyanna & her beautiful little girls that we both adore – – they are on both programs

Already services for veterans have been hurt by cuts to VA. And the policy attacks on DEI & transgender people directly affect me & my chosen family. Several of my closest friends who are trans were planning to leave the country because they are fearful their existence will be deemed a crime

    Did you vote for this?”

This is the same one I got into a huge argument with because she flatly refused to believe that the IRS advertised for agents willing to use DEADLY FORCE or that ONLY one person was killed on January 6th; I’m done.

    PWS

  6. I have just two words in rebuttal of the meme: “Bill” and “Clinton.” And I suppose I could add three more: “and Hillary Clinton.” And what the heck, “The Biden Family Syndicate.”
