I deliberately did not post this yesterday because I object to holidays based on bad puns, but I’ve been holding it for a while, ever since the demise of one of the quirkiest and most original ethics websites, Law and the Multiverse, still on the links list because its essays are timeless.

AAMOF, “Jedi” was my officially-listed religion back when vaccination mandates for federal contractors started becoming a thing under Biden. The rules allowed for a religious exemption and I had every intention, if I was ever asked to show my vax documentation, to wave my hand in front of the questioner and say:

Yeah, well, that whole website often was, but occasionally had unusual insights.
I think it’s more important to note that May 4, 2025 was the 55th anniversary of the Kent State Shootings. Since this silly, “may the 4th be with you” nonsense started, it’s overshadowed what really happened one May 4th back in 1970.

Most people don’t celebrate the Revenge of the Fifth by complaining about bad puns.
No one has ever accused me of being like most people. (And I was aware of THAT pun, and only considered referencing it for a split second.)
