  1. If you think all the Donald Trump foibles, egregious as they are, are somehow worse than the destruction of democratic practices, the silencing of dissenting voices, the debanking and deplatforming of non-liberals, the sexualization and mutilation of young children, choosing people based upon their skin color, sex organs, sexual preferences instead of on merit, running a puppet presidency, and yes, defying the Supreme Court, then you’re not just misinformed…

  2. My guess this quote is from Bishop Talbert W Swan II, who is the prelate of the Church of God in Christ in the ecclesial jurisdiction of Vermont.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talbert_W._Swan_II

This bishop is known for his blunt views on all matters dealing with race. Interestingly, he publicly calls homosexuality a sin, and has written a book Closing the Closet: Testimonies of Deliverance from Homosexuality with testimonials of 23 people who claim to be not longer homosexual due to their religious experience. Swan has not changed his opinions since.

I would like to know if Curmie is aware of his views on homosexuality, and he thinks about these? Would Curmie have quoted Swan if he knew the Bishop’s views on homosexuality?

The views of the Bishop on politics have the subtlety of a sledgehammer. I tend not to take political statements by church leaders very serious, as they are often existing political talking points wrapped in pious Biblical sounding language, spoken by a man in vestments, giving these statements a false aura of spiritual authority. The Bishop might see himself as a prophet filled with the Spirit, but these diatribes only prove that he is full of himself.

Posting a statement like this on Facebook serves only as planting a flag, and it is a conversation stopper. I had expected better from Curmie.

  3. Quoting Talbert Swan’s opinions as fact is no different than quoting David Duke. Curmie just exposed himself as much of a bigot as those he condemns. I challenge him to cite examples of any of the claims listed above.

No one can erase black history but many want to eliminate western culture.

Reducing funding to the Department of ED does not impact instructional capacity. The Federal government runs duplicative programs to feed students and very little money goes to materials of instruction, or teacher development except in areas of social engineering.

Research grant cuts are aimed at reducing the 70% overhead burden research institutions put into grants. That is administrative overhead not research.

What is Trump’s racist agenda? He is demanding that colleges provide adequate protection for Jewish students so that may participate fully. This is no different than laws that ban hostile work environments for minorities and women.

A non citizen may lose their right to be here if they violate the terms of the visitation grant. No citizen has been deported and only a few green card holders have had their status changed. The D in DACA meant deferred which means that the decision to deport was always subject to change.

When did he defy the SCOTUS. Give examples.

Upholding his oath of office is what the progressives are mad about. Enforcing existing laws is not violating the Constitution.

Having spent twenty years in higher education and in a position to observe professor’s ability to think critically and objectively I can state that there appears to be an inverse relationship between critical thinking and the level of advanced degree someone holds.

  4. Climbing in here from the other side of the left field wall, I suggest Curmie get his insulin resistance checked as it may be affecting his mental health.
