Scandinavian nations gorging on anti-American propaganda have decided to boycott the U.S. for vacations because they don’t like the government Americans elected? Brilliant. Bite me. Nobody’s telling you to dump your character-suffocating nanny states. You want to eschew the glories of the USA to make some kind of ideological point? Go ahead. It’s your loss, Sven
I don’t think I’ve ever vacationed in a foreign nation whose government I did like. Great Britain is rotting on the vine, but I’d go to see Westminster Abbey, the Tower, the Lake District and the British Museum in a heartbeat if I could afford it. All of Africa is a hopelessly corruption-crippled mess, but I’d go to see landscape and the wildlife. I’ll visit Broadway even after Mamdani turns the Big Apple into worm-eaten mush.
Or maybe the gentle Swedes et al. don’t want to be killed and raped by our illegal aliens, after so many of them have been victimized by their legal ones. Just spitballing here.
I am worried that sooner or later one of these moronic posts is going to cause me to snap and lay out in unrestrained terms how stupid and offensive I find this bombardment of intellectually dishonest and biased garbage by someone whom lots of people look to for enlightenment and perspective. It is an inexcusable misuse of influence and status, and worst of all, it’s boring. Every day, it’s the same thing. He’s still talking about Epstein, for heaven’s sake.

Ethics Alarms 
What’s the source of that chart? It looks fishy to me. As far as I could tell, every single person in The Netherlands wanted very much to visit New York City, formerly known as New Amsterdam.
First, vacationers are not immigrants so comparing those emigrating from Europe to the US to vacation travel is a bit like saying “I really don’t want to do a real comparison”.
Second, the cost of vacationing in the US rather than “staycations” has become more expensive due to a stronger dollar. Combined with relatively stagnant income growth in EU countries and Australia it stands to reason that US travel for recreational purposes has declined precipitously.
EU productivity has fallen substantially compared to the US due to reduced investment. Combined EU GDP which was once 110% of US GDP in 2008 has fallen to about 68% in 2023. “Accounting for population, EU GDP per capita as a percentage of U.S. GDP per capita fell from 76.5% in 2008 to 50% in 2023” (econofact.org). When you start adding huge numbers of immigrants without concern to the impact on disposable personal income or allocation of infrastructure you wind up with higher costs across the board for housing, food, energy etc. All of this is impacting the US but not as seriously as the EU simply because we continue to invest in new technologies that improve productivity and temper increases in supply cots while the EU has lagged.
It’s a false comparison because “good White countries” is part of the left’s talking points that the President only wants white people to come here. It is true that he is suggested immigration from places, such as Norway and Switzerland, but that should not imply that he is not open to immigration from other areas. I don’t think he would have a problem with immigration from Japan or South Korea, for instance.
The problem, of course, is that relatively few people from those countries are likely to want to leave their own largely economically stable areas for ours.
Nevertheless, it’s not wrong to want to welcome only people who are willing to share our collective American values.
I have a couple of Canadian friends who say they won’t come to visit the US right now.
I think the sentiment is 100% STUPID, but the left-leaning just gotta have their hatred and who am I to deprive them of it with logic and rational thinking?
