Hilarious Addendum To “Nah, There’s No Mainstream Media Bias!” Challenge: Defend This Column…

Against all odds, Norwegian Labour Party lawmaker Raymond Johansen managed to have an even more laughable freakout over President Trump’s accepting the gift of her Nobel Peace Prize from Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado than CNN’s Trump Deranged column examined here.

“This is incredibly embarrassing and damaging for one of the world’s most recognized and important awards,” Johansen wrote in on Facebook. “The awarding of the award is now so politicized and potentially dangerous that it can easily legitimize an anti-peace prize development. Unbelievable that she actually gave the award to Trump. What on earth is the Nobel Committee going to say?”

What??? The Nobel Prize politicized???

I know, we’ve been seeing a lot of Colonel Kurtz lately, but that’s because we are being bombarded by ludicrous leftist meltdowns like that one almost every day.

Only one miscreant is responsible for the politicization of the Nobel Peace Prize, and that is the Nobel Committee itself. First it gave Al Gore a peace prize for spreading propaganda and fear-mongering about climate change (what does cliamte change have to do with peace?), then in the very next year awarded Barack Obama the prize for merely existing, as a black Democrat American President spouting Rod Mckuen-level pablum about hope and change. Yeah, we get it, Norway likes Democrats, but those silly awards made the Peace Prizeofficially a joke. The Committee itself had proven it was nothing but a bunch of biased, integrity-challenged frauds; Alfred Nobel was probably blowing up in his grave.

Trump was right that he should have been awarded the honor this year, though, as usual, he wasn’t the appropriate messenger for that assertion. The Nobel committee again showed that it preferred symbolic advocacy over substance when the actual peace-making was the doing of a leader it disapproves of on ideological grounds.

As for what the Norwegian Nobel Committee would say, it blathered the obvious last week, insulting intelligence of anyone paying attention. “Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others. The decision is final and stands for all time,” the Nobel Peace Center wrote on social platform X. “A medal can change owners, but the title of a Nobel Peace Prize laureate cannot,” the statement continues.

Oh! So when I gave my “Best Director” award to my parents in 1987, it didn’t mean that THEY had directed that production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Follies”? Huh! I did not know that!

  1. The Nobel Prize. What a joke. Talk about virtue signaling. What has the prize ever done to bring peace to anywhere in the world? Evidently the prize was simply intended to assuage the family’s guilt. Why isn’t there a Robert Oppenheimer peace prize? How many people has dynamite killed over the years? Incalculable.
